  1. It is. But it is not "ontological, transpersonal, homogenous, unconditioned existent". It cannot be spoken about, described or categorized in anyway. Claiming that it is "ontological, transpersonal, homogeneous, unconditioned existent" is precisely boxing it into descriptions that simply don't fit. Same thing with non-duality of any kind. Why can't people get this? There cannot be different types of Non-duality How someone words it is really a matter of the mind/intellect and has nothing to do with the real thing. Ramana Maharshi said that it is that which is neither light nor darkness, but prefers to call it "lightless light". Paradox is all once can use.
  2. yeah Brahmasutras say clearly that the Brahman is dvandvAteeta (beyond duality). It means neither existence nor non-existence. I'd say the original post is just a bad/incompelte understanding of Vedanta darshana. It's this hair-splitting that confuses things so. I remember clearly someone telling me that their zero is zero'er than my zero..
  3. Energy sharing

The way I understand it is that the broadcast happens when we are practicing. For instance, when I'm teaching/leading a class, the broadcast is happening from me, based on the level I'm at. When someone is "listening" and following me, they are tuning into my broadcast. It contains everything that I know but I'm not intending to send this out. It emits because of the meditation. When my teachers do this, it is more powerful because they are at a much much higher level of emptiness and attainment than me. Even when my taiji brothers and I practice, we take turns leading. And each one feels different because our "stories" are different. What Master Liao is saying is what my teacher does when he wants to send very specific energies to us. For instance, when we visited him a few weeks back, he shared with us (myself and @fabie) a very specific thing. It put us into a samadhi state when we were meditating. That "thing" stayed with us and informs us/induces in us, a greater level of emptiness. This kind of stuff is hard to intellectualize though...

Yes...there is a "broadcasting" when the Jin is "programmed" to do so. It's a feeling. First the Jin has to be developed. At a more basic level, if we consider 2-person practice (pushing hands, etc). If you want to make the person feel like floating (float jin), you have to evoke the feeling of floating in your own heart-mind. That will program your jin with the "float" information. When the recipient gets it, they will feel like they are being floated. Similarly, when you make the "heavy/sinking" feeling in your heart-mind, the recipient will feel it. When my Master teaches, he is constantly broadcasting certain knowledge (but it's more like a broad-spectrum range of information, as opposed to the specific float/sink/hard/soft/heavy/light that we might do in specific jin expressions). Those who are empty and receptive will pick this signal up. Others don't.
  5. Energy sharing

It means "don't think, don't try...know and do!"
  6. Energy sharing

That's how transfer from my Master feels like. A touch. A slight flick of the palm. As I spend more time training, I find that it is easier to do than it seems, we have to believe....REALLY BELIEVE! That's what my master said too. It is so easy that in our contrived thinking, we can't even imagine that it is possible The way my teacher does it, you will move no matter what (unless you are empty enough that it goes through you). 99.999% of the world are not empty
  7. Energy sharing

That is a very good point
  8. Energy sharing

There's a lot of confusion about what Fa Jin is. Yes there is energetic transfer in Fa Jin, but not in the way one thinks. What is transferred is "power", not "a current of qi". The power that is transferred is similar to how power propels a car forward (or backward). Just like gasoline is burnt to generate "power", Qi is burnt to generate "Jin". This Jin is used to actuate change. But energetic transmission is different because it works at the level of spirit. Then it is actually a transfer of information (sharing), like one would transfer data over wifi If someone doesn't agree with me, that's okay. This was just my 2 cents worth...

    Deep sigh...?
  10. Anatta is the limited body-mind. It never really existed in the first place. What awakens? Was it ever asleep in the first place? Even the experiences of the body-mind was being witnessed by the empty awareness.
  11. Reality vs. Unreality

In other words, wherever (and whenever) you go, there you are!
  12. Reality vs. Unreality

Maya or Lila...same thing but one is half-empty and the other half-full perspective
  13. Reality vs. Unreality

When you are truly free, nothing can bind you
  14. Reality vs. Unreality

The renunciation that happens from not attaching to mind-stuff is the easiest and best renunciation. That is freedom too
  15. Having lived and grown up in a small indian town (Mysore/Maisuru) till I was 25, and since then, 17 years in the Chicago suburbs (with a year spent in Tampa, Florida) I find that the deeper I dive into the spiritual life, the more I long for the simplicity of my hometown of yore. Albeit, that entity doesn't exist anymore. Rampant "modernization" has robbed it of it's idyllic charms. Now I long for the Himalayas. I know I'm going to go there eventually. Not sure how I can settle, with a family and all (who rather love the US). But even to have a small place in the mountains where I can run off to and meditate for a few weeks every year would be sufficient for me now. TBH, I don't long for social contact beyond my family and the like-minded (in the sense of fellow cultivators/meditators; who would be harder to find in small towns any way). When I do go off the grid, it'll be to disappear forever. until then, I will dream.... http://www.indiatimes.com/culture/travel/19-villages-in-india-so-scenic-you-might-consider-living-there-231084.html
  16. Atma-shakti

The Will of God is evident when there is non-action or actionless-action. In my experience we can only recognize this "True Will" and flow with it. Most of the time, we suffer, because we want to oppose it (as we don't recognize it). In order to recognize it, we must be willing to give up our limited selfhood.
  17. Atma-shakti

Atma shakti is Prana...the life force. However, the Atman itself doesn't have a "will" per se in the sense the limited/ego-self would have a "will" that wants to do this or that. The Atman is empty and witnesses things as they appear and disappear. It does not "do" anything in this world. When we know our true self, i.e. the Atman, we realize that the Ego doesn't exist at all, and there is no volitional action anymore. Perhaps was not the answer you were looking for
  18. Reality vs. Unreality

Yes this knowledge is hard to accept. So be it. However, it is not merely an intellectual thing. It is a direct knowing, after knowing which, one doesn't need to know anything else or do anything else or go anywhere else. The dropping of the "separation" is also the basis of love (and advise such as "love thy neighbor" and "love thy enemy").
  19. Reality vs. Unreality

The feeling of separation is the illusion why it happens? I don't know. Different theories are abound. But once the separation is gone, need to answer these questions are gone too. Lao Tzu pretty much said the same thing too...
  20. Reality vs. Unreality

Actually what we've been discussing is practical philosophy. Eastern philosophy is not merely intellectual. It's entire purpose is to deal with existential questions in the most practical manner.
  21. Reality vs. Unreality

Not at all. I'm not calling your mom delusional of course. All I'm suggesting is that your mom, my mom, you and me are not different and separate at all. We appear to be individuals who are born in different parts of the world (or even universe). But it's the same consciousness that animates our apparent separate existence And if I die before you, all you will know is that an object in your own consciousness rose and then disappeared. It informs nothing about me, the apparently separate individual or my realness.
  22. Reality vs. Unreality

It's your choice Jeff and I respect that. But I don't agree that TTC disagrees with me. Your interpretation of the TTC does, of course. Lao Tzu is saying pretty much exactly what Advaita Vedanta is saying, in the TTC (according to my understanding of the TTC. It is really very simple). But as we have observed before, it's cool to have differences of opinions and understanding. MH, we will all find out how real or unreal this world is sooner or later. Till then we have our own realizations and experiences to inform us.
