The Blue Pearl concept is interesting. My first full blown spiritual experience was an out of body type one. I witnessed a blue egg, an electric blue egg in darkness of space. It spun around and I kept seeing the Buddha and Krishna transposing into each other as the egg spun around. It spun faster and faster and then exploded. As it exploded, I saw the universe being created...stars and galaxies flying by me...

Haha yes. Just don't pay attention to it. The shit becomes visible when the water becomes still. Soon it will settle and become mud...

some feeling spreading through my chest.. Why?
dwai replied to centertime's topic in Hindu Discussion
You just felt your heart center (or middle dan tien). What happened is you became aware of the energy there as you were doing your meditation. There are three major centers - around your navel, your heart and between your eyes (third eye). Depending on your biological and psychological traits, one is more active than the others. From what you say, your heart center (MDT) seems more active. My advice to you would be -- That's good. Cultivate that feeling and let it spread all over. Don't fixate on it. Just like you stumbled upon it, let it happen on it's own. Then get out of the way (don't control it/try to control it) Best of luck. -
I'm finding off late that I see energy is white light. It is not necessarily with my eyes, but my brain interprets how I sense energy during cultivation as being white light. I saw a thread in which Dawei makes a distinction between energy (universal energy) and light (spiritual energy). However I notice that the energy itself seems to be transformed into light. Thoughts?

Appearances aren't illusory. They are real when perceived from the world of appearances. They don't matter from the perspective of the source. It took me a while to grasp that.
-
I think the answer lies in the fact that the source is neither expanding nor contracting. All things that expand and contract are apparitions...appearances.

Finishing at the Dantien - Closing a meditation session
dwai replied to z00se's topic in General Discussion
Yes...too much effort is counter-productive. Too little effort is not effective. The effort has to be just right, and effortless -
Or as the Daoists say 'Not too much, not too little'

Hi Vrihlea, I think you already have Master Waysun Liao's book titled "The T'ai Ch'i Classics". There, chapter 2 has all the information you need to do your internal cultivation. Master Liao articulates how to develop sensitivity of the Dan Tien. Then he also articulates how to develop Qi flow in the body. And then how to Condense the Qi into Jin. This Jin will then help develop Shen (spiritual energy). This will allow us to connect with a piece of the source (Dao) in us. Typically you can get to the point of developing Jin and then you'd need a Master to show you how to cultivate/transform into spiritual power. You can also learn from his book - Restoring your life energy the basic meditations that will help towards cultivation. But as someone else also pointed out, you should seek out a teacher if you can.

Finishing at the Dantien - Closing a meditation session
dwai replied to z00se's topic in General Discussion
The Lower Dan tien is like a golf ball and has a tiny pinhole in it. This is the way to the void. To finish your meditation, you have to very delicately put your intention into the pin hole. And the energy from your lao gong points should be beamed into this point. This is an infinite point (a black hole so to speak). This will ensure your Qi is not dissipated. -
Connecting to your LDT is very important in internal alchemy/cultivation/neijia. If you want to do that route, you will eventually get to "emptiness" by the following process. Become sensitive to your lower dan tien. If you try too hard, it will not work (you seem to be doing the right things) Once you are aware of the LDT and Qi in your body, you can start condensing it (it will start condensing). This will develop your spiritual center. Once your spiritual center develops, you will connect with your De ( a piece of the Dao in all of us). The De will then connect you with Dao (and void/emptiness). it's best however to find a practice that resonates with you and continue. Best, Dwai

We used to get punished in school with this. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Hold your left ear-lobe (soft part) between right thumb and index finger. Hold your right one with your left hand (similarly). Do 10-15 squats everyday and see how the brain fog disappears.

This is kind of a weird topic (i think). Recently i've been experiencing something that is quite strange/interesting. I'm sure there's some subconscious factor that's making me interpret my experiences as follows, but it is becoming persistent/consistent in experience as I continue taiji practice. initially it started with experiencing energy during formwork as a cloud of energy that expands and contracts depending on the intention and specific form. Now this has been transformed into imagery/my mind/brain interpreting the energy flow as being dragons that are moving around and coiling about as I do the forms. Also, the left side seems to be a white dragon and the right side a red dragon. They feel very palpable but not threatening in any way. Odds are that my mind is just telling a "story" based on subconscious mythological conditioning (as in dragons are part of IMA lore)...but posting this to see if there might be some other explanation for this.

Is it possible to use AC or DC electricity to give us Chi energy?
dwai replied to daomon's topic in Daoist Discussion
Listening to AC/DC will help build Yang Qi in your body -
I don't get to interact with him. My teacher is one of his earliest students and is a Master as well. He told me that some people see energy like that...but for me it's only started happening off late. Earlier I used to feel the energy, not "see". The most distinct "seeing" I had was during a circle meditation. I "saw" the column of energy in the center of the circle as a column of white light. And I was connected to it at my lower dan tien via something that looked and felt like an umbilical cord, which was also white light. And my dan tien was lit up and the white light was in my spine and all the way to my crown point. Then I started seeing it in the dark with my eyes open. Now I'm seeing it without using my eyes but like in my minds eye. so I feel it is always been this "white light" but I could t see it before...

How do I take back control of qi and direct it to the Dan Tian, whenever it's suitable?
dwai replied to Ryan94's topic in General Discussion
Stand in preparation form (any IMA has it) and just make the adjustments - crown point suspended, tailbone gently tucked and back slightly rounded, tongue touching the upper palate. And stand and breath, put your mind to your lower dan tien. This always drops the qi there for me. Sometimes however if you are agitated its better to distract the mind and go somewhere peaceful or for a long walk or work on a garden, water plants etc. these activities will ground you. Once your qi is grounded, you can stand again and sink the qi. Agitated qi gets filtered through the earth and becomes "clean" again. -

Eating meat and the whole jazz around it. Was Sacrificing an act of love?
dwai replied to 4bsolute's topic in Healthy Bums
I stopped eating meat after being initiated by my teacher. It was not voluntary. One day I was eating meat. After initiation, two days into it, I started feeling sick looking at meat. I couldn't bear to look at it even, let alone eat it. Still don't eat it. I do eat seafood though, albeit sparingly. Also feeling inclined to stop eating seafood as well. -
Sankaracharya and his confrontation of Buddhist philosophy
dwai replied to stefos's topic in Hindu Discussion
Hi 3Bob, This is an often beaten, almost decrepit topic (Buddhism vis-a-vis Hinduism/Sanatana Dharma). That's why I'm not engaging in the discussion from that perspective. You are right, discussions of dharmakaya, sambhogakaya, etc should be done in general discussion or buddha-bum section. Not here... -
Sankaracharya and his confrontation of Buddhist philosophy

Hello, Buddhism's decline in India is primarily because of Islamic invasions and massive extermination of Buddhist temples and universities. This paper discusses the underlying causes of Buddhism's decline. Buddhism's Disappearance from India -
In another thread, I noticed one commentator was waxing eloquent about the role of Reasoning. So to that I posed the question - What is it that gives us the ability to reason? Let me elaborate further with a series of questions. We interact with our world using the sensory apparatuses and our mind (via thought). Reasoning is integral part of the thinking/function of the mind. That being said, what gives us the ability to sense? What gives us the ability to think?

What gives us the Ability to <fill in the blanks>
dwai replied to dwai's topic in General Discussion
Well well, thanks for the advocacy The fact is that I'm weary and leery of disputation these days...there is no need for us to be combative and argumentative. We can learn from each other even if when we don't agree with each other... And positions and understandings change. At one point in history - a few years back, Marblehead and I used to see and understand Dao quite differently. I think since then, my understanding has evolved (and I suspect his has as well). Now, we agree more than we disagree (*unless MH decides to disagree with me on this )- 87 replies

I sensed aggression beneath the questioning. Its energetic more than anything else. That metacognitive process you just referred to often shows me energetic formations that are not directly apparent. Did you read the article? And the hypothesis about bio-cultures? It documents the neurobiological processes via which different people process cognitive/sensory data input.- 87 replies

As sattva in the body increases, the impulses will subside. You can regulate a lot controlling your diet, doing yoga, pranayama etc. http://www.thelivingcentre.com/cms/body/peace-through-a-sattvic-diet
