That shows that you didn't get it.

See...there's still hope for you

Bhakti is also necessary. Pure intellect cannot get us beyond a certain point -- Bhakti is a rasa that softens us up to be able to love and be relaxed - to find one's self surrender oneself

You don't quite understand what I have said...

Babaji's Kriya yoga is known to those who have the adhikara. I don't refer to the self realization foundation stuff but the real deal as taught by lahiri mahasaya's progeny. You are in pain my young friend ... It's a pain you can't understand thereby leading to your uncontrollable intellectual thrashing. I encountered some similar beings a few years back right here on ttb. Some have learnt to understand beyond the words since... You're sharp... You might get it if you manage to empty your cup

Indeed. That doesn't mean we have to conflate everything into one hodge-podge

I don't get it. What's with your obsession with "unification"? I get alwayson -- he is a confused individual of Indian origin, prbly born and raised in the west; who's been fed a bunch of baloney in course of his education. He cant help raving and ranting as he deals with cognitive dissonance. You on the other hand seem to willingly want to troll here... Why don't you spend some more time practicing and really learning? your life force will be better served if you do that instead of seeking the rush of trying to get into confrontations here

Aum is more representative of the sound...combination of "aa""oo" and "ma". To understand sanskrit pronunciation it is important to learn how to pronounce the phonemes (alphabets)

I recommend the book titled "jnana yoga -the way of knowledge" to help you explore this further. Once you have read it, most questions will cease.

Think in terms of substantial / insubstantial instead

Is this a "different" voice talking in your head or simply thoughts that appear seemingly out of no where and are completely antithetical to who you are as a person? These are two different things.

Clicking and tapping sounds during meditation..
dwai replied to ChiForce's topic in General Discussion
It could just be your senses pick up sounds better during meditation. I hear it every night during meditation...they are just building sounds... -
There are terms that refer to heaven qi, earth qi etc. they are all just different vibrational frequencies and amplitudes...the qi in our meridians is the only qi that animates us. Like qi prana in Indic/ayurvedic traditions is said to comprise of 5 winds (vAyus) - each responsible for various actions/organs. They are still the same pran but have different frequencies and roles...
-
Meridian qi is the only qi that we know in our body.
-
Qi is energy (Ayurveda calls this prana). It is not function of organs, organs are a part of the meridian network through which qi flows. There is nothing metaphorical about qi. Those who work with it know its "real ness". It is not biomechanical alignment, it is not some vague concept -- it is real and it can be moved with the mind intent. When one becomes sensitive to qi flow all questions are dispelled.

Kechari mudra is also taught in babaji's Kriya yoga tradition. They strictly warn against takin shortcuts to attaining kechari...so no cutting of the muscle beneath the tongue. Kechari preparatory practices will automatically elongate the tongue and prepare it for placement at the right place. I haven't read the contents of the link but I think I know what is being pointed at..

May i also suggest that we have "Skeptics" section in the forum where skeptics can unhindered and freely exercise their skepticism.

And I have the greatest respect for Madhayamaka. It teaches at one level non-attachment to all things since all things in the phenomenal realm are empty of self-nature (svabhava shunya). The practitioner-philosopher-physicist who's works have influenced me and taught me a great deal -- Dr. Ramakrishna Puligandla syncretizes Madhyamaka and Advaita Vedanta beautifully in his book titled "Jnana Yoga - The Way of Knowledge" (http://www.amazon.com/Jnana-yoga-The-Life-Ramakrishna-Puligandla/dp/0875730914)

I disagree. Buddhism has borrowed a lot of not only theory but also terminology from samkhya and vedanta. And buddhism in its simplest/purest form (of shakyamuni) was not a formal subject of study. It was simply a way to avoid conflict and avoid polarity or learn to reoncile polarity in one's life. None of which is without a counterpart in vedanta. This is why dates beome so imporant to people -- to try and show that somehow, someway buddhism is "higher" (to be able to "prove" that so-called buddhist concepts are more original than upanishads etc). I find the more elaborate and convoluted logic in many buddhist interpretations/extrapolations after shakyamuni infantile and laughably useless. Eg., drone-like insistence of anatta, alaya vijana to explain unity consciousness, yet trying to retain the dependent origination thery, whose role is relevant in the phenomenological realm alone and so on. Although im not sure why you want to discuss these topics on a thread dedicated to Lord Shiva...i do sense some "baiting" underway...

Traditional Hindu education was in the gurukula format. The reason Hindu dharma did not methodically get exterminated by the invaders is precisely because there was no seats of power and education Consider that while Buddhist scholars studied in universities their Hindu counterparts were interning with masters of their respective philosophies. We must be careful to not get anachronistic at this point because that would be simply silly
