  1. Yes, my friend...different strokes for different folks for sure I hope my statements don't suggest that I don't value physical development. I think physical development is important up to a point. But is not necessary beyond a certain point. I keep coming back to a brilliant post from @silent thunder where he quotes a section of a book by John Blofeld
  2. This focus on “physical” along with the “psychological” is what is suspect imho. When one is in true absorption, where is this “physical” entity? The “physical” entity is only important to the point of not interfering with your awareness. Nothing more is necessary, and beyond that minimum viable condition of physical “wellness”, anymore is a distraction, imho.
  3. Try to feel it while seated on a flat chair.
  4. I would suggest that if awakening is real, physical health may not be an important factor anymore — unless there is an impetus to teach, and hence a need to maintain the physical form for a specific period of time.
  5. This is a fascinating documentary, certainly worth a watch. It’s available on Amazon prime (for “free”).
  6. Art & the Internal Arts

My first tai chi teacher also was a master musician (as is my present teacher btw) -- and I used to learn music theory/guitar theory/jazz from him -- he would use the same words for musical improvisation as with tai chi -- "let go and get out of your own way".
  7. Art & the Internal Arts

For me, more than the Visual arts, music is a form of release and transcendence. Especially improvisational music — I find that playing improvisational music requires a suspension of the intellectual aspect of the mind, and entry into an altered state of awareness, where the music flows in and through the musician, in the moment, while simultaneously maintaining tempo, time signature, scale, etc. Sense of time disappears along with the sense of self — only music is.
  8. Becoming aware of "centers" that are above the crown, one being about 18 inches to 2 feet above the crown point, let the kundalini/energy naturally rise there from the crown point. After that also become aware of a flow going out from each of your two big toes. Then observe the flow from your toes curving upward and merging into the center above your crown. Basically what it will be is like a 3-D torus. This will complete a larger circuit and should activate a larger circulation (with the Universe).
  9. It's almost impossible to tell what might calm them down. Maybe an apology and then move on. The Taoist (in this case) didn't mean to upset the person and justifiably can't do any more than an apology to have upset them unknowingly. Each of us is responsible for our own emotional state, well-being, etc, etc.
  10. Why should gender matter? Or for that matter, any of the external appearances? Spirit has no gender -- gender, personality, etc, etc are just stories we tell ourselves -- some derive from biological memory, some from genetic memory, some from cultural memory, and so on. I personally like to look beyond appearances and see the Being -- awareness in this world of names and forms. At a mental level, everyone wants to love, to be loved, to be appreciated, they want kindness, happiness, joy -- the basic motivations for all people are the same. Let people identify with whatever they identity with -- it is their choice. I might not understand all the reasons why, but who are we to tell others what to think?
  11. We stop calling the Harrapans IVC, and correctly name them Vedic Sarasvati Civilization is what harrapans
  12. Sugriva is a character from the Hindu epic Ramayana, and this talk is a presentation of the description of the world from sugriva’s point of view, as documented in Valmiki’s Ramayana.
  13. That was actually an outcome of Project Stargate iinm.
  14. That’s why you got me to share the info buddy.
  15. I was being sarcastic there There were no marauding Aryan invaders , Sinauli is proof that horses and chariots were already in India at that time. Yes there are also pretty old sites discovered in south India, off the south east coast of India. The problem with proper study was lack of capital — which is not the case anymore. I’ve seen this earlier too. In fact, Kazanas proposes this very model, iinm. Will respond after reading it.
  16. No Mahabharata has been dated from anything between 5561 BCE to 3000 BCE (depending on whose interpretation you read). Ramayana is dated in the OP presentation to be 12000 BCE. Sinauli clearly shows that both horses and chariots existed in India far before the invasion by the marauding Aryans around 1500 BCE. I bet you dollars to donuts that older sites will be excavated all over that region, which has significant historical relevance (Kurukshetra is right near by, as are Hastinapur and Indraprastha). There are far more archaeological sites from that period (or earlier) on the banks of the Sarasvati River than Indus. This is relevant because it is from the yamuna-gangetic plains, which was the "hub" of civilization in late Vedic/post-Vedic literature (itihaasa, puranas etc).
  17. More likely proof that there were no invaders, the Sinauli people were natives of the gangetic plains. 🙄
  18. 7000-7500 BCE is for some early Harappa sites.
  19. Will be interesting to see what materializes from this. There's a new documentary show (in Hindi) on Discovery India that covers this specific site. Trying to get access to it -- isn't available in the US yet.
  20. And then this -- https://www.vice.com/en/article/7k9qag/how-to-escape-the-confines-of-time-and-space-according-to-the-cia
  21. Found this article about a protocol (purportedly) developed by the CIA to transcend space-time. https://www.vice.com/en/article/7k9qag/how-to-escape-the-confines-of-time-and-space-according-to-the-cia I know about Project Stargate and the CIA/US Military's investment into, and research about remote viewing, etc -- at one point I was quite interested in the subject (as a curiosity mainly).
  22. I've been living with the ringing for years now...grown accustomed to -- and ignore it for the most part, except for when it tells me something about a specific situation. What I mean by going beyond the body is, have you considered raising the flow above your crown point?
  23. Reading/Study as a practice

I found that "reading" (i.e. studying formal texts and commentaries) was very important and necessary to take me to the next step vis-a-vis internal practices. In the process of learning taijiquan and the temple style daogong/neigong paradigm, we are strongly advised to study the Dao De Jing and contemplate its meaning. We're also advised to study the Taijiquan Classics. Yoga practice recommends study and contemplation on the Sutras of Patanjali as a primary text. Vedanta is most heavily focused on the study, contemplation of Upanishads, and what they point towards.
  24. From deep stillness, movement arises. That's what my teachers and their teacher (Master Liao) were referring to. The story goes as follows -- In the Daoist mountain temples, old masters would be in meditation for extended periods of time, deep in meditation, and there would be spontaneous movement arising out of that stillness. Those spontaneous movements were reverse engineered to produce qigong movements (also called Daogong/Shengong). IIRC, there are three kinds of kundalini awakening -- what you describe is prana kundalini. From stillness another kind of kundalini, called chit kundalini usually arises. The third kind, called para kundalini is beyond the human form. Does going beyond the physical body help?
  25. I already agreed that there are crazies out there. I bet there that sort everywhere. Certainly in the US we saw our share of such worthies in the recent past. But don’t try to paint everyone with the same brush. You’ll get mighty tired, as they are legion In any case, have you read about the new excavations going on in Sinauli in North India? The video is in Hindi, but slides/text are in English. Sinauli was discovered around 2006 and full fledged excavations started in 2018. Copper weapons, chariots etc have been found dated between 5000-4000 years ago.
