Iāve heard from reliable sources that Mizner has real skill. Hereās a little demo by my Sifu ā The video is part of a live lesson he gave us last fall when we visited him. But then he also says that fajin ability doesnāt mean someone can fight. To know how to fight, one has to practice fighting

There are natural biological processes. Why mess with them? Let them express themselves naturally. Donāt obsess with either retention or ejection. Lots of good advice here by @freeform @Cleansox @steve @silent thunder Iāve only seen/heard/read bad stuff about Mantak chiaās practices. I have a student who was Michael winnās student for a while. He was obsessed with these ridiculously complex mental exercises like making different colored pearls (I think they call them pills) and moving them around. My 2 cents based on my experiences and what my teachers have told me ā too much mental activity is the biggest source of draining of our internal energy. To not exhaust your energy, learn to still the mind, settle the mind and abide in that stillness and silence.

Wow! Iām genuinely impressed @steve šš¾šš»

Whoās victor? Yes. Arjuna had a similar predicament during the Mahabharata war. Lord Krishna taught him through the Gita about what dharma is, and why he should not hesitate to perform his dharma as a warrior, and resist those who act against dharma.

Only poppers I know of are jalapeƱo poppers

Because he knows which side is on the correct side of dharma. He has known this since 1950s. In any conflict, the side to choose is that of dharma.

My moderator friends, donāt despair about the drama that ensues whenever a tough decision needs to be made. There are those of us who appreciate your difficult role and also observe some of the āinmatesā revolting under new managementā
-
Hang in there. This is a time of great change. Is there any way we can help you through these difficult times?

Whenever I'm meditating/taiji'ing outside, 3 robins come to visit. Invariably...everytime. Two will sit, one each on the two corners of my backyard and one in the middle. Figured they might be some old souls coming to check on me (or maybe I just look like batman)

You meant that?

Of course. And those critics are exposed as belonging to a particular section of disenfranchised powerbrokers mostly. That might be the case. And I do want a strong political opposition to the BJP...but the current crop of non-BJP politicians in India are not only incompetent but also corrupt to their core.
-
Oh my goodness...you are so wrong that this makes me question the rest of your claims wrt. your knowledge. Modi is from what is called "other backward class". He is neither so-called "Upper Caste", nor is he a Brahmin. I don't even know how to respond to this level of ignorance...so I'll just let it go... What significantly younger partner? He's lived as a bachelor (though he was married off at a very young age by his family). This is all public knowledge. Trust me, if there was even a semblance of truth to what you're claiming, his political rivals would be all up in arms about it. I don't know about Philipino politics, so don't have an opinion about it. I do know about Indian politics and care about India very deeply -- so I make sure nonsense such as what you spouted (really deep fake stuff of the kind that's abound on social media) is called out.
-
Yes, that's the hysteria being perpetrated by certain vested interest groups and being fanned by certain western media outlets. Have you ever been to India? What gives you the right or the authority to speak about this as if you know this first hand? That's your opinion and I respect your right to have it. Doesn't make it a fact I'm going to let this go at this point. It is very clear to me that you are not objective on this matter.

False equivalences are a very easy pitfall to slide into but are still false. Modi and Trump are nothing alike. Trump is an over-privileged clown. Modi is a self-made man, coming from an abjectly poor background, struggled to the top of Indian political system via hard work. People might say many things about the BJP, but in reality, it is a party for the middle class of India. And Modi has the support of the majority of the Indian polity, vocal naysayers notwithstanding. Trump is about rampant and unencumbered profiteering irrespective of the cost, Modi has been steadily working on uplifting the poor and underprivileged in India. He is more socialist than the so-called socialists of India. Yes, under his watch many policies of previous governments that were blatantly discriminatory have been reversed. That has caused a loud outcry among a small group of people who were previously suckling from the teat of power (media, political analysts etc) -- and this has been amplified by their buddies in the Western media. The average Indian citizen doesn't give two hoots about that. He has made mistakes too. Yet he won two terms with an increasing majority mandate. Not some ridiculous victory due to electoral college math. I don't buy into the left-right schism at all..so it won't work with me.

100% Thankfully, the British Raj was unable to do to Indians what the European-immigrants did to Native Americans. Can't argue with you on that account. Monotheistic ones are the worst imho.
-
I very much doubt you know much about this than what you read on social media and western media. I have members of my family (not political bigshots, but had to work professionally with modi & his govt when he was CM of Gujarat and later as the PM) who have interacted with Modi personally and attest to his character and sincerity. Iāll go with their judgement, thanks Yes. I acknowledge that I am more informed than almost anyone else on this forum when it comes to India, and Indic traditional knowledge systems Just seemed like a ācounter strikeā because of the fact that you had to concede.

Chauvinism of any kind is toxic. That said, Iām not sure whether whatās happening in India is entirely chauvinistic. There genuinely needed to be a correction, with so much of Indiaās problems being attributed to Hinduism (hindu rate of growth, Hindu cowardice), and castes, cows and curries stereotype which is being perpetrated even to this day in western media. For those of us who have been raised in a somewhat traditional, albeit non-orthodox form of Hinduism and Indian brand of multiculturalism, it is baffling to see. Only those who have suffered colonialism will understand. Maybe the native Americans know what it feels like to have their culture and way of life be systematically decimated. Luckily for us indians, it wasnāt successful entirely. The political nuances of India are far more complex than anywhere else in the world today. Certainly much more so than the binary logic of western politics. Yeah agreed. Wahhabism is a scourge, and itās offshoot in Pakistan and the neighboring regions via the Deobandi school is another scourge. So is evangelical Christianity.

A lot of nonsense has/will be spouted about Hinduismās āevilsā. The truth lies in between the multiple narratives in the social context. That would be a massive thread of its own. That said, everyone is entitled to their own views. And that does nothing to support or prove that akashic record reading is a Hindu practice
-
Not the Raj per se, but the effects of colonialism.
-
That is actually a revival -- a departure from the groveling colonized mindset that used to rule in India post-independence. They surely have their flaws, but being apologetic for their culture and religion is not one of them. This is why they are so massively popular in India with the masses. Yes, it is a whole other discussion Fair enough.
-
I bet you dollars to donuts, I know far more and a wider variety of "hindus" and "vedic people" than you do I'm not knocking akashic record reading etc...just saying that I suspect the roots are not "Hindu" or "Vedic". Can you share one reliable source that says so?
-
FWIW, the theosophical society is essentially considered (if at all) as a quack movement by most traditional Hindus. And we have Vedic astrology which is very powerful ā my paternal grandfather being quite an accomplished Vedic astrologer (and I learnt it from him though I donāt practice anymore), but of Akashic records I only ever heard of after coming across ānew ageā literature and the works of Tuesday Lobsang Rampa (who was neither Tibetan, nor a lama, but an English plumber writing under a pseudonym). Maybe one serious source where itās mentioned is in Wang Lipingās āOpening the dragon gateā. Iām not knocking akashic records or New age of course, just that it is a stretch to say it has Vedantic roots. Vedanta doesnāt have anything to do with reading āsoul recordsā ā it is a way to transcend karma and therefore The cycle of rebirth.

I think the biggest idiocy perpetrated on the people of this earth is this ā Without this lunacy the world would have stayed far more in balance, as it had for thousands of years prior to 0 CE.
