Taoism as a right brain religion
Spiritual_Aspirant replied to Sidhere's topic in General Discussion
The only books about Taoism I've read so far are the ones written by Mantak Chia and as far as I can gather, I would say it's more left-brain than right brain.. -
Burning sensation in one's sole(s) or palm(s)
Spiritual_Aspirant replied to froggie's topic in General Discussion
Yup, don't worry about it. I experienced the same thing and now I'm used to it. It started for me when I was studying Pranic Healing, where we project energy through the palms and fingers. As for the soles of the feet, I experienced tingling sensations there when I do rooting exercises. -
Energy Healing and Self-Protection

Try Pranic Healing. It covers all your concerns. www.pranichealing.com -
The system I work with does it the other way round. Instead of starting with the lower chakras and upward, we start with the crown chakra then downward. That way, the higher chakras are stimulated first and are able to control the lower ones. In effect your higher and nobler natures will control your baser natures. Also, working with the lower chakras first risk awakening the kundalini prematurely, which is counterproductive to spiritual practice. Check it out: www.arhaticyoga.org

Advanced spiritual practices heighten the vibration of the practitioner, and energy attracts like energy. Naturally, those energies that are no longer compatible with you fall away and you tend to attract and get attracted to energies that resonate with yours.

Assuming he follows a proper grounding technique, the earth should ground him.

Stigweard is right, stop your practices for the moment. 1. Take constant salt baths. If you have a tub, soak in it with 3 kilograms of salt for half an hour. Water absorbs negative and excess energy and salt neutralizes it. 2. Stigweard is correct in saying you need to drink a lot of water. Water flushes down energy. 3. Stand out in the sun for five minutes early in the morning. The sun has purifying effects. 4. Exercise. Physical exercise has a corresponding effect on the energy body. Jogging is good. Avoid qigong or yoga for now, it might exacerbate your condition. 5. See a healer. My personal recommendation would be to see a pranic healer. Pranic healers are highly trained. To find a pranic healer in your area, go to www.pranichealing.org or www.pranichealing.com

When you feel an excess of energy, it's safe to ground/root. Stand or sit, visualize light going down from your feet and root chakra all the way down 15 or 20 feet into the earth. This will ground you.

I think Mantak Chia still teaches the internal movements of tai chi.

Another One On Magical/Spiritual Warfare

Okay, what you should do is stop thinking of the guy. Constantly thinking about someone creates a psychic cord that links you two. And the nature of your relationship is very toxic. Whatever you think creates thought-forms that attach to your aura and chakras. So if the nature of your thoughts towards each other his hate-oriented, your auras will be filled with negative thought-forms and will have a negative effect on other aspects of your system. So, first things first, ignore him. Whatever he does, do not react, not even in thought. Whenever you think about him, try to steer it into a positive thought. Visualize the two of you in peace, happy, smiling. If you give out happy and peaceful thoughts, it will reflect on your aura, and it will repel his negativity. So think of good thoughts and smile. This releases good energy. If you are inclined towards Western Mystery Traditions, I would suggest you learn the Qabbalistic Cross and the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP). This is a standard ritual for aspirants of the Western path. It is very easy and simple, and can be done in less than five minutes. The Qabbalistic Cross brings down spiritual energy and imprints it on your aura and grounds it in the physical plane. The LBRP is for protection. It is basically constructing a protective circle with pentagrams marking each direction. Then the pentagrams are empowered by reciting certain names of God, and then invoking archangels, and implanting a hexagram in your system. Don't be intimidated, it's very easy to perform. Not only does the LBRP protect you, it also purifies you of unwanted influences. So it will help you recover from PSTD. If you want to push it further, I suggest you also try the Middle Pillar Exercise. This is very similar to the microcosmic orbit meditations of Qigong and Yoga. I can suggest a book that will best help you learn these: "The Middle Pillar: The Balance Between Mind and Magic" by Israel Regardie. http://www.amazon.com/Middle-Pillar-Balanc...5972&sr=8-1 If your inclination is towards Eastern Mystery Traditions, you can turn to Yoga and Qigong. I myself am an aspirant on the Eastern path. For your predicament, the simplest thing I can recommend, as I did in a previous post is the Meditation on Twin Hearts. It activates your heart chakra and crown chakra, brings down tremendous amounts of spiritual energy that will flush out negative energy from your system and then subsequently energize your chakras and energy body. When your body is cleansed and energized, at the end of the meditation you are guided to ground/root yourself. It really is amulti-purpose and multi-faceted meditation. Additionally, it fortifies your aura so negative energy will be repelled. For more info about this meditation and free online guided audio, please visit www.meditationontwinhearts.org . Try it and if you like it, I suggest you take a course on Arhatic Yoga. Arhatic Yoga gives you more advance and powerful spiritual practices that proceed after Meditation on Twin Hearts. http://www.pranichealing.com/arhatic-yoga . If you are interested in Qigong, I suggest you learn Mantak Chia's Inner Smile and Microcosmic Orbit Meditation. www.universal-tao.com . The Inner Smile cleanses and energizes the organs, which according to Qigong theory is where negative emotions are lodged. The Microcosmic Orbit Meditation stimulates the front and back major channels of the body which circulate chi. This removes blockages and will help you recover from physical, emotional, and mental illnesses. This will also strengthen your body and aura. I've read several of Mantak Chia's books and I can recommend: Awakening Healing Energy Through Tao by Mantak Chia http://www.amazon.com/Awaken-Healing-Energ...7108&sr=8-2 My personal preference is the Meditation on Twin Hearts and Arhatic Yoga meditations. You should see what works best for you. May you be blessed with divine light, love, and power. -

I can suggest a few things. 1. Do Meditation on Twin Hearts. This flushes out negative energy from your system and then impregnates you with spiritual energy. This meditation will increase your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Also it will purify and strengthen your aura so it will be more difficult for external influences to penetrate your system. A free guided online meditation can be found at www.meditationontwinhearts.org. 2. Read a book by Master Choa Kok Sui titled "Practical Psychic Self-Defense for Home and Office". 3. Salt bath. Water absorbs the negative energy from your system and salt neutralizes it. If you have a bathtub, take 3 kilograms of salt, soak in the tub with salt for half an hour. -
1. Yes you got it right. Inhale for 6 counts, hold for 3, exhale for 6, hold for 3 before inhaling again for six. 2. Kosher Yoga is connected to Judaism. There is a book about it titled "Kosher Yoga" by Albert L Schutz and Hilda W. de Schaps.

If the microcosmic orbit is closed, you die. So I don't think anyone alive has a closed microcosmic orbit. Maybe they are not yet aware of it or maybe there are blockages, but it's there. Concentrating on the crown chakra isn't just for 'flying', but it also pulls down tremendous amounts of spiritual energy from the higher soul/self, holy masters, higher spiritual sources. Also, concentrating on the crown chakra has a funneling effect on other chakras. So if you concentrate on the crown chakra, eventually you will feel that the energy is also going to the other chakras and eventually through the microcosmic orbit. And the energy you absorb through the crown chakra has a very high frequency, violet or brilliant white in color if you can see it. This high frequency energy can melt/disintegrate blockages in your system. So concentrating on the chakra in the long run also has the effect of stimulating the microcosmic orbit. Concentrating on the crown chakra will not cause problems in your mind, instead it will clear it. Negative thought-forms and energy will be flushed away. There are some who get "spaced-out" after concentrating on the crown chakra because of the intense spiritual energy, but this is only temporary and can be quickly remedied by grounding. High spiritual meditations that concentrate on the higher chakras must involve grounding in the end. This is why I recommend Meditation on Twin Hearts, it is a very powerful, multi purpose and multi-faceted meditation. I know of 2 basic but powerful breathing exercises. 1. Pranic Breathing Inhale for six counts, hold your breath for 3 counts, exhale for six counts. This is one cycle. Do twenty cycles for one set. Do one set in the morning, one set during noon, one set during afternoon. I don't recommend doing this before sleeping because it packs a lot of energy in your body and you might have trouble sleeping. 2. Master Breathing Technique This technique can be found in Kosher Yoga. Inhale for seven counts, hold your breath for one count, exhale for seven counts. This is one cycle. Do twenty cycles for one set. Do one set in the morning, noon, and afternoon; not before sleeping. Personally I use the Pranic Breathing 6-3-6-3 technique.

Read Master Choa Kok Sui's "Psychic Self-Defense for Home and Office" for more details. I can suggest a few things. The key is to strengthen your aura, the stronger your aura, the more difficult it is for external forces to infiltrate your system. This can be done using several methods. You can also create shields to protect yourself. Example: 1. Meditate. Most kinds of meditations clear and strengthen the aura. I would suggest the Meditation on Twin Hearts. It is a more powerful form of Metta meditation. There is a free online guided meditation at http://www.meditationontwinhearts.org/. 2. Create shields. In the book "Psychic Self-Defense for Home and Office", specific instructions are given for creating strong and multi-layered shields. The usual "bubble of white light" is not really enough. 3. Prayer/Invocation. 4. Using amulets and holy items; using crystals, etc. 5. MOST IMPORTANT--Karma. Whatever you do will bounce back to you so to avoid incurring negative karma, do only good deeds. IF YOU WANT HANDS-ON TRAINING, CHECK OUT http://pranichealing.com/pranic-psychic-self-defence.

Physical exercise is good in the sense that it cleanses the energy system. Used up/dirty energy and blockages can be removed by physical exercise. As far as I know this is the extent of physical exercise's benefits if not coupled with energy generating/circulating work. So, if your goal is holistic health, physical exercise alone is not efficient. You be healthier than an athlete with a sculpted body if you engage in energy exercises like qi gong. You may not look as good, but you'll have a better quality of life. To push the discussion further, diseases ultimately are caused by a blockage between the soul and the body. So engaging in spiritual practice minimizes the risk of physical diseases. The better connection you have with your soul, the more spiritual energy or "tian chi" will come to you, the stronger your energy body and aura will become.

Yes it is real. Pranic Healing is a refined, modified, and simplified version of many ancient energy healing modalities. Some of the techniques taught were not taught before. Crystals are only used as tools to amplify the energy. Salt and Water are used as energy disposal units. In pranic healing, you remove the dirty energy first before supplying the patient with healing energy. If you immediately energize the patient without removing the dirty energy first, the patient might suffer a temporary worsening of the condition before they get better. When removing dirty energy, you have to put it somewhere. Some modalities tell their students to throw it to the earth and the earth will absorb it and recycle it. This is true, but many students do not concentrate enough to aim sufficiently at the earth and will the energy to the earth to be recycled. So oftentimes, the energy lingers and might contaminate the environment or other people. Salt and water is very simple but a very smart technology. Water absorbs energy and salt neutralizes dirty energy. The purifying and cleansing property of salt has been known for a long time. So combining the two is a good choice. Increasing spiritual awareness leading to diminished happiness?

Don't forget to root yourself to the earth so you won't lose practicality. I have the same experience, and it's still happening. My way of thinking has shifted so my interests and priorities shifted as well. Although I must admit I am still lazy with my cultivation practice haha. -

Chan or Zen wich is closer to Taoism, or am i just spiliting hairs?
Spiritual_Aspirant replied to mewtwo's topic in General Discussion
I think the two are different. I might be wrong but in my opinion, Taoist practices are mentally active while Zen practices are similar to some Indian Yogic meditations where the goal is to lull the activity of the mind. Please correct me if I am wrong. -
I heard the Five Tibetan Rites offer the same age reversal and health benefits but easier to perform. Some also say the Mentalphysics exercises is good.
