yes it is really tough to see the ones you care for be so sick. for years it can be really confusing being the one that turns around and changes the patterns. sometimes you feel like a burden, sometimes you are invisible, sometimes you may be able to help whan they do see that you manage something they want to learn. I remember how immensely it helped me when I called someone in my family for help. I just couldnt stop smoking..(you may think that is nothing, but to me it was getting really bad, like hooked up to a string, couching blood sometimes, earaches 3-4 times a year and life seemed to to go nowhere), and the words given to me had impact. I was told that the strenght I was using holding on to my habit was immense and could be freed and used for ...life. That was just what I needed to hear because I felt "spineless"..having failed so many times. Another key sentence has been "it is all going to happen when the timing is right." It is so important to have that spark of hope. And it feels such a gift when people blow into the glow without making demands or preach. Like they trust you are going to be just fine. (Like they trust you, and think you are fine and have potential to be even better!) I also followed another advice one time when I had trouble being around someone with a drinkingproblem.. and told the person that we would not be in touch until he/she sobered up.. I feel bad about it every day. because i genuinely feel that friendship is a for good and for worse thing. I am really mixed up about that one.

well. this was briefly discussed in an earlier thread with drew. something about holding your breath until you faint. You may just get lucky and succeed. I think if remember correctly drew did. I sure did it as a teenager. so. dont hold your breath til you pass out. Like Chris says, it is not good to get the energy up to the brain. you may get seizures. bound to break some barriers yes, and bring out the tears. but I would go really easy on this one and follow the instructions carefully.

yes my friend. i didnt mean that what you say is nonsense. just; "women need to have a voice." quoting you. I realize that for me to have a voice I first have to have; me/my energy, to express/voice. this "it is so yang for women to speak of/expressing their sexuality publicly" is social convention.. and not necessarily good for me/my energy; my voice. -

------------------------------ I dont know what movie you watched. but it is no good having the images of a movie in your head trying to recapture a message. & dont go neurotic on your breath "watching my breath" never worked for me either. but this does; basics. sit well but not to comfortable. no tight clothes. nice air. no wind or direct sun. eyes slightly defocused slightly downwards slightly closed. breathe with belly. outbreath slightly longer than in breath. watch off. no metal. feet on ground or crossed legs or half or full lotus. hands in lap or on knees or with chosen mudra. your mind will wander, speak, show you images. your body speak heartbeat, temperature, pain, bad cireculation..exitement, reveal feelings, moods, cravings, Just observe. Just return to breath. dont engage.dont judge. after a while if you are honest with yourself you notice that everything comes and passes. detach. let go. that all you do is stretch for something new or go in circles. and it is not there. you are not your body. detach you are not your emotions. detach you are not your mind. detach let go.

let the various practises bleed into each other whilst you practise separately.

and that s the goddamn truth of it. so just do it. "Do not do visualization / mco if your experiencing any discomfort. Ground your practice in the physical. Learn a wei dan set (a moving chi gung) that integrates your breathing and movement into one act. Taiji could be considered a weidan set if performed slowly and w/ breath intent. There are many forms of chi gung like this, they are not dangerous and double as basic martial art training. It also engages the "monkey mind" with something tangible, as you can "feel" the formless through the form. Emptiness meditations are easy once the natural inclinations towards periodic activity is regulated into a routine. Air is cleaner, Water fresher, Food tastes better, and rest is deeper than ever before." god. thank you. you annoying wonderful b.
