  2. Simple Insights

  3. thank you sean for your reflections esp this section: "I found having my sense gates fully open becomes ever so pleasant as I cultivated equanimity, which I found is a consequence of relinquishing grasping and aversion. In fact I found the unpleasantness (suffering) I experienced was proportional to the amount of grasping, or aversion, that I was engaged in. I have thus found relinquishing grasping and aversion at every moment is now the core of my practice, and consequently I have found equanimity emerging, increasing and pervading my life." SO very DIFFICULT! i second hagar on humourous sense, but my pers exp is, the deeper, the higher..i laugh best with those who ive seen really dark "stille vann er grunt".

  7. Purloined Phantom Limbs

drew thanks!!! though i have to literally crunch your intellectual work to be able to stuff it in and digest it, it's alway so FUN!. i can literally hear my brain creaking trying ...and it often matches my intuitive insights. i believe i do in fact sense syncopation take place when changing between the hemispheres, that goes for both visual and auditive input. i was trying to describe syncopation to a musician friend once i forgot the word for it, and i described that it looks like "when wheels spin really fast and suddenly start moving backwards"...
  8. Mixing Practices

wu dragons do what kind of practise? Qigong? MA? just king gong and meditation?
  9. Guns/Weapons etc

ive learned to shoot with luger, indoors, and have a certificate. dont have a pistol though, no need, and wouldn't have it in the house even in a safe. i loved the almost ritual-like orderly routines to secure safety, as well as the deep consentration and the way to measure your efforts afterwards. the aiming, the moment of action and the conscious use of breath...is nice. we shot at blinks. only, never anything closely resemble to humans or animals. i've turned down offers to learn how to use a rifle for hunting.
  10. Question for 林愛偉

  12. Question for 林愛偉

tank you. it is good to know that it is far to go.
  13. I hate small talk

i've had problems with small talk earlier in life because i've been prone to see stuff in peoples surroundings which i instinctively know is on their minds. like i can detect if a persons consentration is divided between the actual moment and somewhere in the mind where there is a personal issue of concern going on. sometimes caught as pictures and sometimes as what i would call "speedguessing". so i either went quiet or jumped right in. i was keen on straightening out the frizz, but no more. people love their dramas of course, just as much as they hate them. i for one should know.. these days i small talk and once in a while jump sideways assosiatively, drop a suggestion in the pool of consciousness while smalltalking if i decide it's a compassionate thing to do. what know i. anyway. figure it's better to smalltalk than to be the grenade. i can wait for 25 years to "bring up a certain subject" timing seems to be everything.

  22. lost, confused and frustrated

agree. but sometimes these chances come diguised as nuisances..like "the bus that's too late". instead of spending the time in agony, it may be a chance to contemplate the surroundings. i mean, it's not a perfect world..or? by the way, yor avatarname anything to do with twyla tharps, cathryn wheels/philip glass?
