It sounds good, except for one major flaw in your argment...... I am not calling down Non's efforts at celibacy. It is admirable that he's trying to do something to better himself. It's why I think he is on the right track. However, he has warped something that can be very helpful into something that can be very harmful, but desperately clings to it because that's what the dogma tells him to. He is still a slave to external factors, except those external factors dress themselves up as liberators. His drive for freedom is actually chaining him down. On top of that, your little scenario doesn't make much sense...... Someone being celibate will be distracted by external influences.... But celibacy will create a shield keeping all of that out...... But the external forces will leech off of him....... But that is what his shield defends against........ But he needs to get away from people who will leech off him....... If you can't see the contradiction here, then you're already too far gone in your own lala land. Because it seems that if their celibacy shield only works if they've gotten away from draining influences, like, say, by going to a low population density country, then it isn't a very good shield, so you should probably think of another strategy......

I also believe that Non has a lot of potential. But he has yet to sort the wheat from the chaff, and needs to be able to distinguish between what he needs to do for the betterment of himself (which he can do by going deeper into himself and asking the tough questions), from what other people are telling him to do based on some inapplicable dogmatic formula.

I'd also like to make one thing clear- I believe people have the right to think whatever they want, but I think that they should think it for the right reasons, and they should be aware of all of the inner workings of a situation that go into what they are thinking and why. It physically pains me when people start to rationalize out there behavior, when insidious psychological tricks come into play, and they don't even realize it. People tell me I'm a dick sometimes. But there are certain conditions for it to be useful. In other conditions it can be harmful, and lead to more problems. When you are so dedicated to something, like spirituality, that sex doesn't even cross your mind- BAM. Celibacy. No questions asked. You are going your own thing. Non's three month foray into celibacy? He STILL thinks about sex. STILL is frustrated over women. STILL is frustrated over how society works (to the point where he has openly mentioned suicide numerous times). And STILL obsessed about what his little friend is doing. Non is not using celibacy to up his spiritual game. He is using celibacy as an out to rationalize away his thoughts and behaviors. But the fact that Non keeps circling the same issues is GOOD- that is his starting point. That's where he can start asking the questions: Why do I think this way? What has it gotten me? Where am I going with this? How do I feel about myself and my life NOW?

And if you cannot handle it, your muscles can tear irreparably- ruining you for life (and who knows what complexes will develop which will just make more karma you're going to have to deal with later! I find it hard to believe that the highest masters are bothered by the presence of other people. You would think that after reaching such a sublime state, there would be nothing that was even CLOSE enough to their level to phase them.
