Grandmaster Wang Liping Private Intensive April 16 - 25, 2011

Ive seen people use ALL CAPS, and bold text, and now underlining to make all sorts of claims. Does this activity make these claims more true in some way? Or does an emotional conviction buffer the force of intent and make it easier to handle, shielding one from the divisiveness? -
Have you stroked it today yet?

Did you know that Ken Wilbur also heavily endorsed Bubba Free John?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm4fk3yj22Y The right hand grips, the left hand slides. The pennies drop, the boxes glide. It never stops. She worked the line blind. Folded, pushed, a pirouette. No thought, no joy, no regrets. A cigarette was hanging from a cord and every thousand boxes she'd suck her reward... and find her island, but the siren howled. The whip cracked and a prepacked mountain pressed her neck. She'd switch to frantic, automatic. Clear the decks. Turn on, tune in, machine was humming OMMMMMMM The neon flashing laser blade was scratching... Turn on, tune in, machine was humming OMMMMMMM The neon flashing laser blade was scratching... O B E Y ! ! ! No rest, no play, no time. She worked the line. The pay was fine. She'd find her island in July and find a rock to sit on... quietly humming OMMMMMMM She worked the line. Perhaps you have found your perfect teacher, then. -
Sums it up quite well. Until this is thoroughly understood, there wont be much point in discussion.

Why doesn't Grandmaster Wang beg for his own alms? Perhaps he should create money out of thin air like a REAL wizard. Then he wouldn't have to give out private intensive instruction on esoteric secrets of immortality to every random jackass with a wad of cash. -
worth swearing about and worth risking censorship time is running out

Not specifically, but possibly indirectly - the technique you mention here may be based on the type of concentration which is essentially an act of suppression. It depends on where the focus is and whether you allow thoughts or not. If you are discarding all thoughts and cultivating silence, or if you are avoiding them in favor of the space between, then that is suppression, or condensation. It is not "bad" or "good", but it is not "undifferentiated" either. In fact its the opposite - its focus, concentration - and eventually it can reach a laser-like intensity and various experiences of absorption are possible. Paradoxically, (some might say) its usually something that must be developed at least moderately before one can move on to the undifferentiated, which is not suppressed or condensed but rather diffused. The original post recommends recognition of the nature of thought to allow you the understanding which will bypass the effects of thought on the "thinking" process, effects which tend to obscure the emotional and sensory content involved and keep it running endlessly, in an auto-pilot mode. Remembering this understanding and putting it into practice is the process of realizing the undifferentiated origin of all the energy lost by this endless "thinking" or daydreaming process. Pure suppression is only a temporary fix. Untangling the root is another matter.

Its a reference to the "internal dialog" which is not always acted upon, but rather spreads like a virus across our lives and affects us anyway. In christian terms it is said that "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks". Most people refer to it as "thinking", but I would rather call it daydreaming. Its one of the reasons why people talk about "awakening", so they may arise from this unconsciousness.

Today what does it take to do the super thing I'll tell you what it takes a very simple thing Iron nerves like the pilot of a jumbo jet Or a girl on the go, who hasn't got there yet Magnetic trumpets blowing, synthetic saxophones The evidence kept growing from below Hidden motivations, buried in the past Still give us strength for the super thing The red alarm a rude surprise every time it rings Means it's time to go beyond the normal thing Pay attention and be prepared to do it right The super thing, the thing that makes you bigger than life Magnetic trumpets blowing synthetic saxophones The evidence kept growing from below Hidden motivations, buried in the past Still give us strength To do the super thing (won't you tell me what it takes) To do the super thing (won't you give me what it takes) Signals start to travel from a distant place Lights go out electro-shock then pleasure/pain Sensations unfamiliar can make you sick It's a super-human thing and it does the trick Magnetic trumpets blowing, synthetic saxophones The evidence kept growing from below Hidden motivations, buried in the past Still give us strength

IMHO, its funny enough when you point at the glass door and they still smack their head into it. YMMV.

Is it an STD that has afflicted you? I haven't heard this term "thusness" before, would you care to lay it all out on the table so we can dissect its putrid corpse? (formaldehyde has a rather foul odor wouldn't you say)

It is wonderful to be in a place where one is able to hear the message of any teaching. Often it is much less the fault of the teaching but more the fault of our own inability to hear its message. In terms of the teaching itself, the message often becomes more valid in the dynamic interplay of life between people. It can be related to in a way that is more relevant to the current situation, and thus illuminated by reality rather than obscured by ideas. I would say you are heading in the right direction, so keep at it. Take encouragement from this - you may not see the signs of mystery yet, but they are there.

Many buddhists actually tend to leave it untranslated these days, to avoid the nihilistic connotations that have grown around this interpretation. So we may say instead: "Life is dukkha." which invites people to explore the meaning of this statement for themselves, instead of having it defined in a way that is less than complete due to the discrepancies of translation.
