  1. Sea of Aether

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUdG4RiO268 A cloud of eiderdown draws around me Softening the sound Sleepy time when I lie with my love by my side And she's breathing low, and the candle dies When night comes down you lock the door The book falls to the floor As darkness falls and waves roll by The seasons change, the wind is warm Now wakes the owl, now sleeps the swan Behold a dream, the dream is gone Green fields, a cold rain is falling in a golden dawn And deep beneath the ground the early morning sounds And I go down Sleepy time when I lie with my love by my side And she's breathing low And I rise like a bird, In the haze when the first rays touch the sky And the night winds die.

Clouds of every shape. Winds in the trees rattle leaves. Fish jumping in ponds.
  3. In the meantime...

Perhaps you need more time to uncover my intent. It is certainly not guaranteed that you will be able to do this, however.
  4. Words from some Old Coyotes

You have to be aware of the uselessness of your self-importance and of your personal history. Your death can give you a little warning, it always comes as a chill. Death is our eternal companion, it is always to our left, at an arm's length. How can anyone feel so important when we know that death is stalking us? The thing to do when you're impatient is to turn to your left and ask advice from your death. An immense amount of pettiness is dropped if your death makes a gesture to you, or if you catch a glimpse of it, or if you just have the feeling that your companion is there watching you. The issue of our death is never pressed far enough. Death is the only wise adviser that we have. Whenever you feel, as you always do, that everything is going wrong and you're about to be annihilated, turn to your death and ask if that is so. Your death will tell you that you're wrong; that nothing really matters outside its touch. Your death will tell you, "I haven't touched you yet." Think of your death now. It is at arm's length. It may tap you any moment, so really you have no time for crappy thoughts and moods. None of us have time for that. The only thing that counts is action, acting instead of talking. - Castaneda Every one of those unfortunates during the process of existence should constantly sense and be cognizant of the inevitability of his own death as well as of the death of everyone upon whom his eyes or attention rests. Only such a sensation and such a cognizance can now destroy the egoism completely crystallized in them that has swallowed up the whole of their Essence, and also that tendency to hate others which flows from it. - Gurdjieff
  5. True Self

Don't worry, I've got your back.
  6. True Self

Yes it can be quite delicious.
  7. True Self

We shall be taking much more than that! but thanks for your offer anyway, its good to know how much time you are willing to spend of your own volition
  8. True Self

    I don't.
  9. Drunken History Lesson

Crispin Glover is playing Edison, he was also the father in "Back to the Future". He's been in a few movies. To answer your other question: I am just sharing a video with friends. In terms of presenting all events as knowledge, in a mahamudra type style, I will also share these quotes:
  10. True Self

Awareness of the first portion of the first sentence of my post is one thing... awareness of the rest of it is quite another. If such selective listening is good enough for you, I might question why you would come to a forum such as this - but I dont need to. Its actually quite evident. Also, you are not alone in such endeavors. In fact, its very pervasive.

  13. True Self

The sense of touch aids the illusion of solidity, which the human embodies in a physical way - unable as we are to dematerialize into our component atoms. (Yet in relation to their own size, there is a vast amount of space between the particles that constitute our various bodies) With the aid of this sensory experience, the idea of the self - the self image - is also subconsciously considered a solid object, a discrete persona. This layer of abstracted self - the self image - is founded on the psychology and instruction of a pre-established human society, delivered mostly by ones parents and others in the formative years of the child. In its daily manifestations and general activity, the self image is directed by thought and driven by emotion, both of which have, at their long lost origin, only derived from very basic instincts of this most socialized (or "learned") animal on the planet. The conceptual framework of language does not exhibit reality but rather symbolizes it, in the way that the word "tree" is not the actual thing itself. You eat the meal not the menu. The word, the symbol - that which approximates and is but a representation of reality - is the same as any other image - and just as language itself often becomes more real to people than that which it points to, so does the image of the self become to the mind of the social animal, the human, the current earthly apex of the expression of biology. In this same way the framework of biology provides impulsive activity that necessitates eating, sleeping, shitting, fucking, etc. In all activities of a structural framework, the mechanics of their operation is a set of laws relative to the physicality of that structure. Even conceptual abstraction follows the same basic logic which is used by biological limitation. Yet the awareness of a given object (sight, sound, sensation, emotion, thought, etc.) is what provides the space for that object to be presented in the first place. All events and activity, objects and so forth appear as something like a movie in first-person, but it is only upon the blank screen of naked awareness that this is possible. Most people have no awareness of awareness - rather they are beings which are entirely subject to the reactionary mechanisms of deterministic law, also known as "karma". There is nothing of their being which has gravity in itself. However as soon as awareness itself becomes the focus of perception, the center of gravity begins to shift. The content (or objects of perception such as sensations, emotions, thoughts) eventually becomes secondary to the space in which it arises, rather than remaining as the dominant focus - which is the position it occupies in the life of the average person. It is this gradual shift provided by practices of internal self-cultivation which is the objective of all valid wisdom traditions. When the entire nervous system perceives as a single cohesive unit, the possibilities are far beyond the comprehension of the conceptual mind. However there is a barrier of fear which is no less than that of imminent death. This is because the totality of perception includes a clear view of human mortality, amongst the manifold other possibilities. It is often surprising to people how tricky their own mind can be in avoiding reality as it is, and this is why people say "ah ha!" when they finally understand their own mind's deception upon themselves.
  14. Quite true. Realization of the futility of violence is eventually followed by realization of the futility of aggression. However, before aggression has been completely dealt with, it is either suppressed or sublimated, and manifests passively. Sometimes there is a very fine line between healing and hurting, and that is why the most exact discernment is necessary to truly "help" a person. This kind of discernment, its motivation and its power - is not an object to be possessed. It does not belong to anyone. It is necessarily outside of linear time, as such unfolding of events is crucial to other's development and is often better left undisturbed. Illumination of the mechanics of the process... that may be a different matter - at certain times, in certain places, with certain people.

  16. Experiencing first hand the relativity of perception in regards to conceptual thought is a good start. Next up, the eradication of latent tendencies. Its usually much less fun, and it can take quite a while. When the crusty inner shell has finally been cracked, the first glimpse of light is overpowering in its intensity. Gradually, one becomes accustomed to this clarity and slowly realizes the actual state of one's own petrification. Then the work begins in earnest. Some have mentioned thoughts of hubris. This is a natural response. It is a sign of things to come, the pride before the fall - which is also natural, and also necessary for the process. The journey to the underworld and the return of the hero is not just an interesting story, but also an intimation of the greater purpose of the Orphic mysteries. Dealing with the ideas of "enlightenment" and "truth" and "freedom" and "infinity" and so forth is one way to approach the path. However, ideas as conceptual constructions do not have nearly the same energetic impact as emotions and sensations. These other realms are much more difficult to work with. Yet the path of Tao is holistic and includes not only mind, but body and spirit as well. It deals with the integration and union of all facets and attunement of them to the harmony of all things. In particular the ideas unravel very quickly. For example people may want to shout from the rooftops: "I am free!!!" - its a common expression from beginners - yet if this is really the case, you should be able to teleport wherever you want and fly off into the sky like a bird. However, if you cannot do that - you are not actually "free", but instead must realize the constraints and laws you have no choice but to obey. So you are not free of the law of gravity. What has become free is a very small portion of the whole of experience, the totality. This totality is the real deal, the main point of practice. Your body is not just some "illusion" that you can ignore whenever you want. Otherwise, you can stab yourself all day, chop off your legs, burn your eyeballs out - and not feel any pain. But if you attempt that experiment you will soon discover how "real" this so called "illusion" actually is in terms of your own perception. The puppet strings run deep, and quite distantly. Far deeper and more distantly than the self-image would ever admit to itself or anyone else.
  17. Ejaculation, Body armouring & Retention?

It is very, very unfortunate to regard semen retention as being "the whole tantra thing". I would have trouble accepting your claims of "far higher energy levels" in light of such a gross misunderstanding, if I didn't actually see this lack already. Perhaps your view is just a result of the relative scale you are familiar with.

  20. Perhaps it may surprise you to learn that extreme indulgence in those things will lead to the same disinterest? For some, the path to transcendence involves that kind of rampant hedonism - as simply another method of burning away its binding desires. At a certain point you will lose the momentum that the "external" world has initiated in you, and it is at this point you may become lost. As you go counter-current to society and its interests, eventually that previous momentum no longer provides direction for your life. You must then generate your own internal momentum, and continue with the efforts.. which will take on more multidimensional qualities. Many have pointed to the balance of things.. neither extreme quietude nor extreme indulgence. The unity of work/play. There are those who have meditated themselves to death, they indulge in it like a heroin junkie. It is but another polarization, another step away from the tao. Stillness in movement, movement in stillness. Cultivation of the way is delightful beyond measure, and thus the boundaries are broken. Their dissolution is arranged like stars in the sky.
