  1. Origin and return

Indeed. However, this is a process beyond language. How do we unlearn what there is no language for? h So you say it is basically an energetic process?
  2. Origin and return

Original innosence; what does it mean, beyond our ideas about it? What do you imply by "recycling"? So, beyond the riddle, and beyond ideas, if we are allready That, how do we return to it? This includes an actual practice of remeberance? Thus, the root is then the first moment of life? What part of alchemical practice are you pointing to? The reason I inquire about this is that there is very little consistency about this very central point of the "root" (no pun intended), and the notion of "return". In my experience, this is where all practices in Daoism point; the return, the root, the origin. h
  3. Let go of your negative emotions

GerardĀ“s post about the superior approach of the Daoist somatic framework is spot on. However, in recent years, and having worked with the "bodily" blockages with varying success, I have finally embraced the fact that most of our blockages resides in the mind and secondarily in the brain. Most external healing might solve your somatic issues, but if you do not weed out the root cause in the mind and brain they establish the same old story in the body again and again. When there is no actual perception of a block, there is no block. Understanding this fact took me amost half my life. The body, and itĀ“s so-called problems are just part of the same projection of the mind, like a hologram. If you change the perception of your bodily nature, your problems dissappear. This is ofcourse very deep work on the unconscious mind, and the brain is not just re-programmed. It takes a monumental sea change in our being for this to happen. For me conditioning is not what is supposed to be worked through. This is like trying to polish a rock into a mirror. What has happened has happened. A broken heart is a broken heart. Beyond suppression or expression or letting go. If you have been in the war in Irak, you cannot undo that, and it will be a part of your system. The "letting go" is not about tranforming or purging in the deepest sense, but recognizing the reality underneath. If this dimension is not accessed, no real transformation is possible. If we focus on solving problems in the system, the problems are endless. Instead, true practice is opening to the real energy and information that came before conditioning. True energy light and information is allready there. ItĀ“s symbolic, like a prayer. h
  4. Stay away from M. Chias material. Meditate on your other question.
  5. ItĀ“s probably here somwhere, but PM me. He is, and he was pretty up front about it. I was told to make the best out of what I have. ItĀ“s water under the bridge. Most of us either start too late or waste what time or potential we have. For me itĀ“s both. One thing is to have far out experiences. Another is to be able to embody the information. I have recieved the absolute best of what is accessible in the west, and I am left with very little. ItĀ“s humbling. The only think I can say for sure is that I have not achieved even the minimum of what a practitioner should embody. This is just a fact, not being smart about it. But thanks. I enjoy your posts too.
  6. In my experience, there is a much greater danger in losing connection to what gives us life in our modern society than in previous times. The natural elements gave some degree of nourisment. I met my teacher. I understand him better now. I think that he sees that through the practice he teaches there will be a possibility of at least attaining a greater degree of integration than I would have had on my own anyway, so he settles for that. But thereĀ“s no way I will reach a state of pure yang or anything like that, and thatĀ“s fine. At least one can settle for being able to enjoy life, and live pretty healthy and content.
  7. yup, but some damage is permanent...
  8. I know itĀ“s a hard pill to swallow. I can only speak for myself. Most of the basic stuff that I am dealing with happened before I started to practice. It will never be undone. What is said and experienced can never be undone either. ItĀ“s there. No matter how much you "let go". I have physical and energetic stuff that, after 20 years of trying to resolve will always be there. IĀ“m just being honest. Deadline: At some point, we lose what we had. When that transition is happening its too late. ItĀ“s just life. like menopause, in a way. If youĀ“re lucky you can maintain what you had when you started practice. But reversal is almost impossible. Then you need to be a recluse and have a teacher available at all times. It was a real reality check for me. And I have lost hope. But IĀ“ll practice anyway.
  9. U canĀ“t undo conditioning. Personally, I think todayĀ“s world is too complex to really create any promise of true practice. I am meeting my teacher today, and the only thing I feel is shame. Deep shame. Again, this is excellent practice.

  12. Anybody here doing horse stance training? I was given transmission into a particular form of Tiger stance by one of my teachers way back, and started doing it quite consistently now (once a day) I even found a way to do it without passing out; taking out my Iphone and watching motivational videos, and adapting the stance to last the length of the video. IĀ“m up to 9 min. now, and have allready felt alot of benefit. Weird thing is my leg muscles are getting smaller (!). This may be due to burning calories, or to the opposite of muscle hypotrohy, I have no idea. What i wonder though is if anyone here knows the difference in effect of conventional horse stance and tiger stance (more like a downhill ski racer position) Also, what signs of overdoing it should I be on the lookout for? h
  13. Horse stance vs tiger stance

I know! Well, we do have the Berserks in our past.... Started out freaking out and after a while I just really enjoyed the feeling of hitting people really hard and throwing them to the ground. The weirdes thing was that i became all-state as a kicker.
  14. Horse stance vs tiger stance

Breathing has changed, but also how I relate to it. Now itĀ“s soft and not intentional, and I only use concious breathing when I reach the final "hell" realms at the end =) Then I do deep breathing and sounds too. It is getting more and more subtle and still. In the beginnig I felt stressed in the stance. Now itĀ“s more familiar, and also I feel more moisture in the hands and feet when I stand. Tortoise; hmm. Have to ask my teacher. Maybe a different form. I am aware of the traditional "tiger" stances. The clawing the ground though is pretty tiger-spesific. I use it as a stand alone practice, but it flows pretty effortlessly into the spontaneous tiger form. h
  15. Deep-Centers

Did some Shen forms yesterday, and realize they are all about the center. Funny thing, but it seems to me that to make them work, they condense and draw the energy to the center, and its not really any chi sensation. Just light, and radiation. It feels like the entire central channel is activated, yet I also feel how physical blockages, especially in the lower torso and spine interfere with activating the centers below the pelvis. The radical thing about these forms are that the are so light, so effortless and the heat they produce are immense, but not in the sweaty way. More like a light bulb. h
  16. Horse stance vs tiger stance

Vikinger? HAHA! Is he the dude in the middle? Of course, Viking cultivation goes way back too...
  17. Horse stance vs tiger stance

But what are the effects of horse stance, and what are the dangers of overdoing that? Too yang? h
  18. Horse stance vs tiger stance

LOL At least I started out with alot of hair and a beard a while back, but nop, nowhere near the comic strip Hagar Got the name playing highschool football in Idaho, FOI; got carried away playing defensive end.... Who would have known...
  19. Horse stance vs tiger stance

I realized I havent placed a pic of myself in all these years. =) sounds interesting. Keep me posted about the rewards
  20. Horse stance vs tiger stance

    corresponds to my experience. h
  21. Horse stance vs tiger stance

On the same note I sit with my left leg inside. I doesnĀ“t matter very much though. Most important is tuning. Tuning is everything. It can waist a decade not doing it correctly. ItĀ“s actually mindblowing; 5 minutes every day, and you are 10 years ahead down the line. Just like practice in general; if you aim in the wrong direction, like trying to improve anything not allready there, you pay the consequences http://blairishwisdom.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/enlightenment.jpg
  22. Horse stance vs tiger stance

Accordingto my system, this is done in almost all crossings of arms. Especially infront of the LDT, in closings etc. h
  23. Horse stance vs tiger stance

I know, the horse looks way cooler too. However, there are spesific energetic advantages to the tiger that far surpasses the horse related to internal organs; lungs liver and lower back/pelvis is toned. It works directly at the liver, and anger. Its much more an energetic or chi practice than a Jing practice. The bend part of spesifically designed to work on the above mentioned ways. Looks lamer though
  24. Horse stance vs tiger stance

IĀ“ve seen the vid! Finally something I can refer to, yay! As for the similarity, I guess itĀ“s pretty similar in the beginning, as it is static, but the dynamic phase is something else alltogether. However, this stance also works on the lower spine alot. h
  25. Stance Competition!

My contribution;), Technique-wise, I refer to my post in the Taoist discussion sub, and look for the tiger stance post. Got interrupted with compassion by my son.
