Looks good RW. IME, the partners have to have a real look at each other. What does he want? What does she want? How bad could it be? Can we try this?
-
Yes RW, I see what you mean, and this makes it more complicated. The laws of society governing relationships weren't build for evolving relationships. In the end, as evolving beings, the sense that we give to those experiences, is the only one that truely matters, doesn't it? It's pretty obvious that many of us are interested to stay in touch with this side of themselves, while engaged in spiritual practice. We're not just practicioners, we're of flesh, blood and, mostly, feelings L1

Yes you see, however deep your meditation goes, you can't touch these issues with your mind alone. I remember the Crounching Tiger Hidden Dragon love story, between than sword master and the sword mistress:) He went into the mountains to meditate, and there, on the cliff of his highest realisations, he discoveres alot of repressed feelings, the feelings that he had for HER. Repressed Love Turned Into Despair. That is really significant. To him it was way better to return into this world, and try to make the step that neither of them had the courage to (darn, they were warriors, weren't they?) And he dies like an ordinary man, and their love shared, even for a moment, lasts beyond death. Anybody remember that story?

I really admire your method, I do - and a man does need these activities, as much as a lady needs her purse with her cosmethics:) However, there's something related to what Rainbow Vein wrote above, that I think one may not find in un-pussifying methods alone. RW, those elephants lurking around (you meant big issues, right?) in ordinary people's homes are VERY IMPORTANT. To me, each of those olyphants is a gateway to a new and profound dimension that awaits for exploration... I think of them, as oportunities alive, that weren't met with courage respect and integrity, and turned into monsters. Yet if you touch them, however painful that may be, voila! miracle.... ON ONE CONDITION: that the couple is dedicated, and really wants to evolve... NON, i see you trying to write something. Please stay out of this one If you want to have fun pitying yourself, please return to your initial thread! Sorry mate, I have to treat you 'manly' this time!

Would it be possible to solve the weak Yin / weak Yang probleme 'merely' by Qigong practice? I think not, at least I think getting involved into a relationship to do it...makes it alot easier. And has wondrous advantages
-
Yes, however getting there is pretty tricky, at least to a weak Yang male. If you do have a practice that helped you, you are a lucky one. Choosing Which to cure What is real luck, or real knowledge, and not many have that. Don't be too harsh on those that don't. Oh did I mention that Veganism tends to make the male more Yin? What do you all think of this assessment, is it correct? Why?
-
I think it's because they are in a complementary state to each other, and it's compulsory because their mind in reality is drawn to ideal models, e.g, Strong Yang, Strong Yin... whereas the energy body/sexual energy decides otherwise. How do you call this division? I'm sure it had a name... Cognitive dissonance?? Glad you find something interesting in it! L1

You find a job that involves being with women, either colleagues or costumers. If you really have a WILL, you will most surely find a way. Complaining will make your weak Yang even weaker. You can do it L1

Yin nurtures Yang Yang nurtures Yin Usually weak Yang has it's roots in childhood, the father not being there as a male model, or mother being a castrating type. The situation with most of today's males is that their Yang is weak, and they seek a strong Yin. Also many of the women have weak Yin. The situation is generally due to the labor hours that the parents have to take in order to provide for their children. Women with weak Yin appear Yang/brutal to men with weak Yang, yet they are still attracted by them, compulsory. At the beginning the relationship may be a bit of a drama, because the male is oversensitive and the female is not so. Then he has two basic options: Option no 1: If he chickens out and runs away, he will remain a weak Yang. Option no 2: If he gathers his spirit, and takes responsability for the relationship, gradually they will come to a ballance first, and in time his Yang will become strong, and her weak Yin will gradually be replaced by real and sensuous feminity. These options work very well with the female counterpart also. I see many of these situations in my life everyday, WOMEN as well as MEN do suffer from lack of their dominant quality, Yin, and Yang respectively. It's a major problem! Unfortunately it's easier for people that don't have this problem to understand the above. Thank you for your time! L1

The body is the handle, and the mind is the blade.

Hey Non, cheer up, and listen up a bit: Guys develop adequate masculinity by hanging around girls Girls develop adequate feminity by hanging around guys Yin nurtures Yang Yang nurtures Yin Usually weak Yang has it's roots in childhood, the father not being there as a male model, or mother being a castrating type. Hi Moskovadao, Please consider the fact that whenever money is involved, sooner or later these kind of discussions will arise, and it's only normal that they do arise, especially when the price is pretty high. It's not easy for people to invest the material (hard earned money) into immaterial (spiritual teaching), and the spiritual market is already pretty thin - compared to other markets. However, it exists, and has been cultivated many decades - it's pretty homogeneous... The people of laoziacademy, and including their grandmaster should have developed by now a policy regarding this aspect of the events that they are promoting. It's part of the western culture, and some mutual compromises have to be made in order for this endeavour to have success. Easterners expect that only the power of the master will smooth things out, apparently this is not possible. You need to communicate with your costumers and respect them, this is the western way, throuout the western world, in any financial transaction. What must also be considered is that the west has had pretty much the whole spectrum of spiritual teachers until now, no matter how enlightened or unenlightened. This means that the westerners are educated costumers, and not to be treated with contempt and superficiality. Their loss, you'll say. I'd say,in a cultural and financial transaction, the loss is reciprocal. You guys really need a change in attitude. In fact the purpose of the information in this message is to help, you may ignore it at your own expense. L1 -
I think the article feeds on our hopes and fears, and for that IMO it's junk. And like any junk, it's bound to create addiction. No, I don't know the truth
-
That's why mystics from different traditions 'meet' different deities 'out there'.
-
This may function on a certain level, but on another it is completely false. Quan Zhen - the real reality is that the reality is created every instant by us, with the specifications it derives from our cognitive systems aka beliefs

I read Gerard's opinion and it seems to concur with yours. Yet I'm not sure I fully understand what do you both are stating, namely, liver stagnation as a cause. Could you be a bit more specific? Very interesting. Although it may not seem very spiritual, I think that guarding your physical treasure may function like an insurance. If you invest in it, you can always start again, from base one. When you collect the mind, you strenghten the Qi. When you strenghten the Qi, the Jing will be sustained.

Practice and sexual activity In my experience it's because in Qigong your vital fluids are starting to vibrate, and generate a kind of bio electro magnetic field around your body. This happens first in the groin area, and gradually works up to the torso and head and even above it, gradually enveloping you. This 'force field' is your protective energy, Wai Qi. In fact you should look up manuals of TCM that explain to you the way all the different types of energy are linked together in a network - if you stimulate or deplete an area, the others have to compensate. After you have ejaculated (or even been stimulated - because over stimulation is just as taxing to the vital fluids, Jing) you don't have the same resources to build up. So what the body does is taking from the 'federal reserve', the energy provision that is left for emergency situations. If you do that alot while you are young (because you don't know and you don't feel much - you start feeling the effects only as you progress in age), in the end this 'reserve' will get pretty thin. It's the same thing that happens when the body doesn't get it's necessary nutrition: it takes it by 'stealing' it from vital organs such as liver and brain, which are very rich in nutrients. The body is the main engine of either our daily life or our daily practice, many things depend on it. Therefore, we should pay more attention to it. You know how much gas your car needs to run on the streets, but you haven't any idea about the complex minerals and vitamins your body needs to meet your daily demands, be it practice, sex or other. Think about it. While it is true that you can't throw blanket statements left and right, you should beware of this rule regarding sexual activity and Qigong, make a thorough study of it in your practice, and then apply it as you feel it's best to you. If on the long term it leaves your body stronger, it's a sign that it's working. But if your body starts to decline with age, no matter how much practice you 'push' into it, it may be a sign that you have overlooked this aspect. Hope this helps

Has anyone noticed how the animals that die just become bigger? How long until humans will be affected?

Chinese culture and civilization is VERY MUCH about respect. Is one of the founding principles... It is also part of the Daoist tradition! You didn't pay attention to what I said: just the definition of Daoism would have given you the answer you seek... Moreover, you'll find out sooner or later that resonating on the spiritual level (common values) is to a couple as important as the emotional and physical aspect. AND in time, it becomes more important than the latter. But of course you're not interested in this, are you? edit 'darn spells'

"Taoism" ??? Duh... If you ask a thousand people about taoism, you will have a thousand opinions! Take us, this forum, for example: we are still debating what IS taoism and what IS NOT. SO, in order to respect anything, you first have to define it, no?? How did you define "Taoism" to her? What does she know about it?

Yang Jwing-ming once said something like this: "at first, teachers were teachers, and students were students. then, after teaching became a business, teachers became students, and students became teachers." The idea was, teachers have to please their students, because they become their costumers if i will have anything worth teaching someday, i'll make it a separate thing from my main means of earning a living. to me that feels like an honest thing to do edit darn 'spells'

Now this... this I am interested in. Would you please care to elaborate? Why do they have to wait that long? And how far ahead could they go? Actually it's an open question... L1 -
pump iron and meditate? LOOLZZ!! you know, he may have a point there, am sure he's smart enough to prove his point, and that's where the money goes into, his effort of proving he's right. however i tend to agree with hundun also, there has to be some form of exchanging value, and money is the most convenient for most of us. good food for thought. however, i don't think this is the only way, nor the best way.
