Jodorowsky is a twisted dude Genius, but I wouldn't trust him with a thing like that. Non-practitioner

Actually no, no one asked but you. Want a medal? Joking aside, most complex questions have a simple answer: we get involved in spirituality because we have a spirit. It's the same way with being involved with eating: because we have a stomach.

Nina, Theoretical advice: I'm not sure I should say this, but you need ALOT of practice BEFORE you start to perform healing on others. The reason is, your body needs your own energy to function properly. Unless you have practiced for hours daily and gather a huge supply of energy, don't attempt 'sending all healing energy to your husband'. Even if they tell you that you only channel 'universal energy'. These energetic therapies have their own laws. Please respect them for your own safety. Many that started this way ended up with total burnout, and not even a master can help them. You still have your own life to live, and to take care of your children. Another thing, don't cling to false hopes. A false hope is just a future dissapointment. Most of the alternative therapies out there cannot help you at this stage. But a high level practicioner, a good therapist, well, they may make a difference. Practical advice: Sending only love will not help. He may need other emotions to 'feed' his own soul. Most important is for him to learn to meditate on The Inner Smile. If you search it on the internet, you will find alot of info, and alot of instructors. This will help him to be in good spirits, and encouraged. He needs to deal personally with all the sadness and anger that he may feel. Another thing that he can don: whole body breathing. He can do it lying down, feeling every pore of his body breathing in yellow-white light, and breathing out, in the distance, the grey-dark energy. He can perform it while he sleeps also. I'm sure he'll enjoy great benefit from it. I think you should try your best to help your husband. At the same time, you should be wary about all things that this involves. Good luck L1

Why the virtues work like gangbusters, and how to harness them in real life

The real 'you' is 'them'. Have you seen 'The 5th Element'? -
Thank you, the entire post is extremely interesting, and I agree with it. I have some thoughts about it, maybe you can comment a bit and share some advice. I work in a pharmacy, did so for some years, and slowly but surely I became interested in mixing internal work with external aid, with nutrition and external tonics. Another way I've been practicing is right in the morning, when the sun is rising over the lake, and the lake, the earth and the sky begins to blend up the Qi into a very nurturing - as I came to discover - Qi. It's the closest replacement for food supplements I've met until now. Yet another way, is the practice of scent, natural perfumes of the field, the trees, the waters. It's a part that I would love to investigate more, and I have very few resources about. I've heard of Xiang Gong, Fragrance Qigong, researched a bit on it, only to discover it's not what I'm searching for.. Another way I've seen some doing it, is taking the external medicine and working on it through meditation, breaking it down into elements that are used to strenghten the inner structures that are 'created' with meditation (strings, cavities). Together with the work of alignment with the outer rythms (of the moon, sun, tide, solstice and equinox) and the inner rythms of the meridians and organs, these ways of practicing just blew my mind. I will arrive in China next year in autumn or so - I study Chinese in college - and I'm already looking for a scholarship that would allow me to maybe allow me to study there TCM also, but this is particularly difficult to find, especially for a foreigner. Therefore, I'm looking for other options and the opportunity that you talked about, your teacher maybe doing that seminar, be it in the near or distant future, is very attractive to me, maybe you can keep us posted on it? But back to the supplement topic, what is your opinion on bee products, especially royal jelly and propolis?

Why the virtues work like gangbusters, and how to harness them in real life

In the beginning, you need to 'feed' the inner gods daily. After a while, they grow up and become active and helpful. -
Castaneda would be proud. I've seen some shamanic movies, but this one beats them. I wonder when will they make a movie based on CC's books. With modern cinema skills, and a good director, it will surely be a BLAST. That being said, the film isn't for idiots. It's filled with huge tips. You also need the background to 'catch' them, and more than that, to use them.

People believe that if they have a 'higher' life in a 'higher' culture, they will be more happy. Happiness doesn't show on X-ray. The obesity problem is a sign that those countries have TOO much. An average meal of an obese family would feed a third world country family for a couple of days, and in some cases, weeks. Karma...

The "Get a Job, Have a Wife, Make a Child , Get a Life" Thread
宁 replied to 宁's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, it's a sad story. What if your wife would be supportive to you in your practice? And maybe practice together? What if your kids would grow up being sensitive to energy and enjoying that? What if each member of your family would practice his or her own routine, and enjoy the company on the way? A spiritually secure place is Heaven on Earth. Love and passion cannot replace that. As you can see, we as spiritual seekers are lonely. Why do we search company on spiritual forums? There are many reasons for it, and many reasons against it. Just enough of both to make YOU choose... -
These incidents wouldn't happen if the exercises were practiced at their appropriate hour. For instance, if you go practice in the park at 5 to 6 a.m, you'll find many people that practice something related to health, be it jogging or whatnot, and maybe even have some interesting conversation... It's not empty talk, it's experience. If you do it at a later hour, - firstly, you won't have enough healthy Qi to back you up - secondly, you won't have enough healthy Qi to back you up in your practice Don't "shoot the messanger". Maybe the universe is trying to tell you something.

It's nothing more than a hunch, but I guess that the external medicine aiding neigong would work the same way, only, to benefit instead. Thanks for the story, though. Where did you learned it from?

My link I remember a story about the poisoning of a Chinese emperor, which shows a bit of the complexity of the art of the external medicine/poison: - The emperor was assassined by giving him a couple of separate ingredients, that were served with the meals. None of them, individually, was poisonous by itself. Neither in combination. The firing of the formula was deviced according to the moon phases. When the moon reached it's most yang peak, the ingredients fused inside the emperor's body, and he just collapsed! Of course it's not the poisoning part that is fascinating to me, but the whole concept, which is very intelligent! IF the story is true...

Hello Song Yongdao, What about the external daoist alchemy, which involves the use of special plant and mineral mixtures? I'm sure external daoist alchemy is as complex as it's internal counterpart, maybe even more complex, due to the fact that it adresses a wide variety of natural ingredients - and the Chinese found them everywhere, in the Sky, on Earth, or under Water. Anybody knows any good resources on this? Thanks!

I think parents and children have an innate connection, which I've witnessed alot, not only in our case. Of course we read alot about that, still I preffer reffering only to what I experience. For instance, my son can't go to sleep unless all my family is sleeping. If someone in the house is in another room still awake, he'll have a hard time going to sleep. He's two years old. When his mother has one of those days, he is also nervous and anxious. When we practice and the Qi field of the house is balanced and clean, he is calm, relaxed and plays nicely. I have the same experience re meditation. When I get into lotus he comes and climbs on me, playing with my nose and eyes. Of course, I can't resist much, I give it up and we start playing

Stillness Movement Neigong and Michael Lomax's 'Light Warrior's Guide' Book

One thing is certain: this thread is turning into a humble-pie restaurant. It turns out that you guys are all in fact very modest! But no one is more modest than me! -
Thanks for sharing! Interesting how 'little' wonders are sometimes worth more than 'significant' wonders, eh?

Sure. I sometimes experiment with English, as it's not my mother tongue. I'd like your review on how this Water Path type training was to you, that is, if you're into it - or I just misread your posts? Thanx! And Pietro, if you feel like it, you can comment on it too. I hope you would. Your comment regarding what BKF teaches today sure caught my attention! What's the idea?

Thanks mjjbecker, and hundun for completing the opposite part, very interesting posts. No matter what system we talk about, I doubt it can be learned from books or seminars. You need to live a couple of years close to the teacher. Wouldn't you agree? -
Quite Can you speak a bit about this teaching that you speak about affected you?
