I also have and use Wild Divine Biofeedback. One important definition that I didn't find on this thread is that Biofeedback is a modern way to make a workable link between the Mind and the Body, in such a way, that a practicioner's experience would not be confined inside the limits of his/her own imagination... Whatever you can measure, you can control... Heart-rate, Skin response, Brain-wave... and these are steps and tools that can help during meditation. If meditation is what is supposed to be, you need all the help you can get L1 -
Err... Hi! This is a Very Good answer that was once posted by Michael Winn over his HealingDao Forum. It's about THE EGO THAT WHIPES OUR BUTT DAILY It's dedicated to all un-buddhist-ed Taoists left out there on the TTB Wendy, it's a good question. I was referring to letting go of any personal pattern. I think letting go is fine a first stage strategy - it can open up new space. It's simple, like breathing out. But as you and Fajin have pointed out, it can be deceptive - usually only the symptom that is aggravating you consicously is released, and underlying patterns may remain. Breathing out is great, but its not the deep solution. The reeason its difficult to change deep patterns I believe is because the Self has so many subtle layers and dimensions to it, that getting to the level - or to one level above the space where the pattern exists - requires deep work. It's hard to release a pattern at the same level at which it was created. Once you let go of a pattern, or a whole group of them (as in your dramatic example of suddenly allowing in a higher perspective) - you still need a structure to hold whatever new patterns that are allowed to come in or be created from within. You, for example, apparently were unable to fully hold the immensity of the glimpse you were given in your moment of rapid expansion to another level of self. The rest of you had to grow for some years to catch up to that vision. That is why "killing the ego" doesn't work, or "letting go of the ego" doesn't work in the long run. It is just another way of saying: Attack the Five Shen! They are misbehaving! Kill them! The ego is needed to provide human structure. it is a functional part of the whole, so it cannot be killed without killing the whole. Besides, who is going to feed you or wipe your butt if there's no personal ego to take care of details? The ego or personal self is really the cauldron of transformation, and you want a strong cauldron that won't crack when you begin loading in powerful new vibrational patterns into it. It's why I agree with Fajin, transformation of the structure is needed to provide stability in the process. Orbit and Fusion of Five element patterns are both initial structures used in alchemy to replace what is being dissolved or released. They resonate with univeral patterns of harmony and balance. They focus the new chi coming in, after the old is breathed out. And more importantly, they offer a path of communication and interaction with the Original Spirit, which wants to become more conscious here - but cannot, if the field is too polarized by ego/shen disturbances. hope this helps. michael

Should a Taoist Forum focus primarily on Taoism?

Taoists are more into practice, they tend to limit their posts after a while. Buddhists seem more into philosophy and debate, so it's quite normal... -
From many p.o.v it shows the reality out there: very fiew are interested in meditation just for meditation's sake. What a mixed-up world! Also, it's quite clear that is done by a non-practicioner. Whatever they may say.

Good post Pietro. Stig, i also offered my view on the *Coming soon* thread, i'll repeat it here: hi Stig, i'm sure you need more than just a handful of applause, so here's what this tells me i think you may need to gather a good team, that can always be possible with good motivation - some to work on gathering the data = text = video = picture = events - some to compile them - and some to upload it maybe even the design can be improved, to look more 'daoist', with more traditional chinese features you may need someone with good Chinese language skills to surf the Chinese taoist forums for quality information a book section would surely be in handy, with high reccomendations if only my time was sufficient, i would have gladly helped, yet i think all can be possible, even with small 'labor force', in time... best of luck

hello Kathy, thank you for the pictures and the short reports... very interesting... i'm hoping we can find out more... Be well L1 -
Hello amigo, this battle you can NEVER win, because they are being backed up by STRONG DOCTRINE, meanwhile you're steps towards a new perspective are still small and shivery. this is a battle that can not be won with arguments, or proof. it's about you having your daily practice, and that's all there is to it. if possible, the fiewer the 'friends' that know about your views, the better. try to talk about these things ONLY with people that have simmilar views. here you have a good environment for it... snoop around, the goods may lie just around the corner it will save you a lot of time, alot of headache and heartache. but for pity's sake, don't try to 'convince' them, or to 'save' them... if not for another reason, then for this one: no one really knows what is Out There, and everyone makes wild guesses about it. you'll soon have your share. be well L1

no one knows the exact movement of an electron, and it's surely not Exactly orbital. neither the planets, or the stars. but hey, have it your way, i'm cool with that too. my point was, if everything in the universe is moving, in a cycle or spiral, that may Definately mean something to practicioners. there is a saying, if you don't understand something (about practice), you can seek the answer in nature. you won't be fooled by second-hand philosophers that easy this way. good luck with it L1 -

i don't know the physics terms in English, but i think even the electron moves in a spiral, when it changes it's electrical load. there are a quite a fiew layers of the atom, and electrons usually jump from one to the other, especially in the layers that are farther from the nucleus. it may 'look' as if it's spiralling around the nucleus, back and forth. but the view of the matter as being composed of atoms is not a very precise one, neither the division of the layers of the atom itself. if you have the time, please watch nassim haramein's video on videogoogle... also, stillness and movement in a straight line are two extremes, the middle way is the spiral, that can both keep a center, and still keep on moving. the earth seems still to us, but it's actually moving. if we exit our planet, the planets seem to move, but the sun seems to be still. if we exit our solar system, the sun itself rotates around a larger star.... and so on. stillness and circulation are both needed, and they may be different aspects of the same thing, depending on the observation point. -

I'm just a concerned member. Why do you think this happens? In the past there were discussions with people that were involved in different types of trainings, with different teachers. Now it seems that people don't have any more interest or time to spend learning from a teacher... Could this be it or...? - i'm not disputing over IF it happens, it's quite obvious to anyone that has been here a while - i'm not pointing fingers, i'm just trying to figure out the cause Could it be the nutrition? Media? Electric smog?

so i take it that you guys think that it's not too bad actually, eh? i wish it was so

yes Harry, it seems many of them left and start doing things the way things are supposed to be done: 'a little less conversation and a little more action please' - did Elvis sing that? i could do that, no problem. it's just one of my favourite places to spent the time when i'm on the www. so, yes, i'm concened. you asked if the discussions lead anywhere. for me, they did... i can't help see a pattern, regarding my activity and the activity of other members: first we come asking some questions. then we start making opinions. then we start being smart asses the evolution of the 'smart ass' into a better taobum may or may not be possible. some of us i saw getting over that, and offering quite a good and balanced advice from time to time... interesting...

what means do Taoists use to accumulate jing and qi?... and why do they speak so little of it? i found one short movie that tells some interesting things about Zen training:
