  1. iran

...anybody heard of John Perkins? In Iran's case, they are applying the same strategy, an inside job. If they do it from outside, Iran is too strong, and the war will cause public dissaproval. So they do it from the inside, meanwhile for the innocent viewer it looks like Iranians fighting for their freedom. Freedom from what? It's their lifestyle. I've seen it happening on a smaller scale to my country, and to other latin american countries. GOOGLE-FU: CONFESSIONS OF AN ECONOMIC HITMAN, BY PERKINS. They will try next with Korea, I'm not sure it'll be that easy. Next is Russia, then maybe China. It's a war for world domination... It's sad that so very few are aware of it.
  2. I think Vortex has made some good points there. Besides, if you read the Dragon Gate book, it's pretty clear there that the training is anything BUT easy or confortable or designed for anyone to have a bite at it. You'll either have to be really good, or prepare really good. Why should the acces to it be other way than the same, difficult? The price issue is saying another thing to me: it's a moral stimmulus for the a Chinese to be encouraged to come and learn about Daoism. Don't you think it's normal for them to care about their own people first? In China, compared to the West, there are very fiew left that are interested in these things... They need to get it to their own people first. So we, as foreigners, are invited to learn about their most treasured part of their culture. No one said it's the only way, so to get there is not an obligation, but a personal option. So, as a guest, why the fuss? It's the exact opposite of polite. All this complaining about prices makes me think of a couple of chubby westerners arguing with the lady at the market-store about the price of some products, yelling their going to make a complaint to the manager. You think you get the same 'rights' with anything in life? You think life is 'negotiable'? You people are over-obsessed with 'rights'. This is not America, but one of the fiew places in the world where a citizen must first think about their obligations/duties, and THEN about the possible benefit. With that attitude, of 'taking', 'having-the-right-to', 'demanding', you'll only show that you're an un-educated barbarian. Not all Chinese would think this way these days, because of the overcoming influx of MacDonalds-type-culture (which greatly sucks btw), but the Chinese that matter to us (cultivation-dedicated people) would. The more you comment negatively, the more you cut more from your chanses to ever get to do anything with it. You're pulling you on leg, in fact.
  3. hi there everyone, just accidentally stumbled upon this site. http://taospiral.ning.com/ it's for the Universal Tao students, instructors, friends, any type of spirituality seekers. lots of photo's, announcements, and the possibility to ask some questions to Master Chia and some of his seniour instructors. dragon gate master li hechun also has his personal page there, playing some gu ching (traditional instrument) and also doing some taiji good resource to have at hand, i'd say good luck L1
  4. http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showto...p;hl=dictionary hi there exorcist, i'm sorry i didn't get to tell you, the dictionary was already started, and some of our taobums have already contributed... if it's not too much, i hope we could continue with it... in the original thread posted by me...
  5. anybody called for a dictionary?
  6. Encounters with the Nagual

Thank you Dwai. This is my only (pointless) point...
  7. Water Method and Inner Smile

your understanding and purpose are the things that shape your practice if your understanding evolves in time, so does your practice... "A daoist rides one horse at a time" - Yes! good one! another way of putting it: 1. only your (little) understanding could limit a (working) practice 2. only your (incorrect) purpose could limit a (working) practice edit: some other practices don't work if you don't have enough Qi to 'start' them...
  8. Encounters with the Nagual

everybody is entitled to an opinion
  9. I was just expressing my feelings Nothing to do with your battles, amigo. When mind&talk are involved, you may feel like a fish in the ocean. When the no-mind&silence are involved, you may feel like a fish.... in a fish-tank. Good luck L1 PS: From what I've heard from friends that knew him in person, WLP is a *quote* incredibly kind and humble person.
  10. I'd like to raise my hand for one statement: sir, you s*ck. There, I feel better. L1
  11. Smells like murder to me. RIP His death is an omen to see his movies again. Great man... I don't belive the gossips.
  12. Dear Padawan You should be aware that sexual practice is only a SMALL part of Master Chia's system. In Master Chia's sexual practice, seminal retention is the LAST step of the practice. First step - Inner Smile and Opening the Lesser Orbit. Second step - Testicle Breathing Third step - Scrotal Compression Each of these practices are to be done one at a time. If you want to advance quicker in the sexual practice, you should study the practices, the context of the practices and the proper technology... You need to study them twice as much as you practice... Get into human biology, buy yourself a good anatomy book. All of the above build up VERY large amounts of sexual energy, more than just seminal retention alone. So, the NEXT important question you need to answer TO YOURSELF is, what do I do with this new-found Qi? Seminal retention will occur naturally, IF your sexual energy develops other APPROPRIATE routes inside the body. If not, the Qi will become stagnant, and you could easely develop all kinds of conditions. Best of luck. Do it right, or you'll thicken the pack of those that belittle it. If you're an engineer, go with it as an engineer. I couldn't imagine a better way to do it, actually L1 Edit: If this message is of help to you, PLEASE do me a favor and let others know about it. You could copy/paste it all over the place if necessary. A lot of young men start doing these practices, unfortunatelly without proper understanding, and they usually end up badly....
  13. I've been watching some of the early episodes of Generations. My votes go to Picard. He has everything Kirk doesn't: style, wiz, authority, compassion. Picard all the way. Immaturity was never in my trends. (Not trying to spoil your party, just call 'em as I see 'em)
  14. What is a phenomenon?

Hi Dwai, allow me to give it a shot... When confronted with difficult arguments or problems, I always try to use Bruce Lee's advice: Whenever the movement (kick, punch etc) seems too complicated try to break it into smaller parts... So if we apply this to your problem, what do we get? We get a question and some possible answers, already posted, some underlining duality, some infirming it. If we break those up to smaller parts, what do we get? An operation by which we try to create a relationship between the set of elements in the question, and the set of elements in the possible answers. My point in this discussion is this: language is a bitch I think that thinking about phenomenon and numenon is possible only OUTSIDE the part of the mind that uses language. In this respect, I hold brother Xenolith's answer as solid and valuable. Otherwise it's a linguistic roller-coaster with no end...
  15. TTB Anonymous

T'was the one thread where we discussed about positive and negative energies and how can they influence a practicioner. There you appear out of the blue telling us something you heard from your master: When you start thinking this way, your spirit is already gone!... I'm not sure I remember it well, but it gives lots to ponder. I've spend alot of time on qi cultivation, and i've been catching up with daoist spiritual cultivation... since not too long ago. That particular line there, sticked to my mind like glue... I wanted to know the context of that information, and when does it apply in the life of a practicioner. I only found these kind of gems from two sources alone, and belive me i've searched alot. So i wonder what other brain-jammer quote you may store in some deep corner of your mind... If i'll forget about you someday, if someone comes to me and tells me something about the above quote, i'll remember you in an instant. It's funny how life works, isn't it?
  16. Awsome... I wonder how the Zen Chef from Cooking Your Life documentary would react to such a story...
  17. TTB Anonymous

Isn't that cute?... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> But it's wrong! I remember two or three of your post that still make me scratch my head Maybe someday you'll tell us some more of those gems of wisdom from your master...
  18. Woman and LAW OF ATTRACTION

hey how about this interpretation of the law of attraction: "what you seek in life is already seeking you" "where you are is where you want(ed) to be" so why the dissatisfaction then?... maybe, just maybe, one or two of the five shen are dominating the others but the other shen have their word to say in this equation therefore know thiself is a lifelasting pursuit...
  19. Top Ten Taobums of All Time

oh jeez gosh i have such a long list, i can't stand the idea of leaving anyone out i can't speak about the best, it's a too western concept, yet i can add a fiew names of the persons i really look forward to read their posts... everytime these particular names appear as posting messages, my heart speeds up a little, and i click my way into that particular thread in no specific order ymwong taomeow stigwead exorcist dao zhen sheng zhen pietro smile cat sunshine smile xeno ken kathyli mjjbecker dog hagar rain idguest lin aiwei song yongdao mal vortex .... ... .. . each and everyone of you make ttb look better every day
  20. Woman and LAW OF ATTRACTION

ok here's what i could read in your original post i like to see how the law of attraction works ;i'm interested in using it to attract women but i'm not really that interested in women ;yet it would be good to see that it works in attracting women i'm not mentally attracted in women; but i'm desperate to have a woman please help me well, there are many Pick Up Artists around here, and I'm sure that if you know how to talk to them, you'll strike it rich... the only problem is, they could only give you advice on how you could attract the woman of THEIR dreams. if you want to attract the woman of your dreams, you need something else... play it your way. it's a game, love. it has it's rules. and you need to play it quite long time, before you reach to the crucial point. both male and female are predators.
  21. Thank you Song Yongdao. I'll try to keep it up. I'm sure there is more to know about the lotus pose than we can imagine
  22. Yes, actually I do have something to add... Deepbluesea, if I would tell you not to contract your foot muscles when you walk, would it make sense to you? The same is with intercourse. Those muscle tense and relax many times during intercourse. For instance, what I do... My best morning practice is pelvic floor exercise. There are 15 different zones of the pelvic floor that I train with. A couple of training routines. And 2-3 levels of training. That means training to contract, expand, and then RELAX. Many forget about the RELAX part. It's as important as the other one, even more. And if you're accustomed to do it every day, and see the benefits, you think you'd be able to refrain from it during intercourse? Far from it... The context of the practice is what makes one do it properly. For instance, if you are too focused on the genitals, as a male, you are bound to finish quickly. That's why when you do it, you have to know WHY, HOW, and WHEN to do it. And that, my friend, cannot be taught over the internet. Suffice to say that, for the PC practice to work, you have to be like the proverbial painter. When a good painter paints, he forgets about his brush - because he has mastered it.
  23. Yes, I agree great information Song Yongdao! I can do the full-lotus for 1hour and a half. Please tell me, 1. does it matter which leg is above and which leg is below? 2. What about the monks that do it too much and their legs are damaged? How can one find a balance between too much or too little? 3. Regarding the posture, can you tell us more about the hand position? 4. Why do meditators need to lower the blood supply to the legs and direct it to the rest of the body? About mudras... I've seen different hand positions and i don't know their purpose... hands together, knuckles and thumb touching, and then hands on knees, facing upward, facing downward. I use the lotus meditation only to calm the mind, yet, if the position of the hand is different, it seems the meditation is somewhat different. So there, I'm a bit curious about the position of the hand... Thanks so much L1 there is also a posture of the hand over the knee, and the fingers of the hand touch the ground... and the other resting in the navel area. it also gives a different effect to the meditation
  24. How to commit suicide?

ok i'll bite smartas* = a guy that loves the adventure of free thinking, without taking the responsability for it; irresponsable thinker ; (i.e. regarding suicide - he doesn't REALLY understand that what for him may be just a theory worth exploring in theory, others may be in the mood of practicing it; and WHEN it happens, the dead is the guilty party) i Really have no intention in continuing with this argument, i hope you can get pass my concescendence and irony and see the idea for what it is. every bit of information Effectively shapes our consciousness. you are of course entitled to explore your view on things. good luck L1
  25. How to commit suicide?

It's because you haven't looked well enough. Sorry for the smartas* thing.
