Hello there, sorry to hear what happened to you. It seems you already found out the causes. To me it's really important to know everything there is to know about this kind of practices before i plunge in head first. You're not the only one, just to ease your mind... Most of them did the same mistakes. But if have the time and patience to take these kind of things seriously, study, get feedback from an instructor or teacher, you may see miracles. Great thread idea! Most of what we know is Yi - intention and purposefullness... We use that to activate Qi - when it is sufficient, it's intelligence allows us to act from a different standpoint... It's like having another operating system, besides Windows... You commute from one to another when you practice... There's more than these two, it seems:)

we are packed with viruses and bacteria. they activate when the inside environment is proper. acidity it's usually one of the main causes.

I think many of the practices were invented/conceived for practicioners that are in good health. Unfortunately, the Western lifestyle is VERY unhealthy. So that's what happens when you get trouble. Instead of blaming the cause (POOR HEALTH), you blame the practices... Altogether with the attitude: Oh, spare me, I know better... Sad and Funny at the same time...
