  1. Great question indeed... I would add to that question another one. To what extent can one "choose" a lineage. Yoda, I think lineage is like being a mason... it's a farfetched comparison, isn't it?

大便, 小便 。。。Ai ai ai, tha't no way to speak for a REAL DAOIST And remember, your quote said Dao is in piss and shit. 这个师傅可能帮助您。。。 Without his case study and example, I may not ever get to that stinky gem of wisdom... 对不起,M 师傅, we've learned somethings, you may need to learn one thing also... Dao may be just a little bigger than your conceptions on it... So, I'll go out to find some Dog Poo to study, to learn more about the Dao... See ya

  7. Abstaining from masturbation

jeez that's too bad... someone once told me that married folks masturbate a lot often than the young i can understand that marriage means a lot of compromises and sacrifices for the sake of the children but sex is the root of our self, and eventually we transmit our ideas and practices on it, to the new generation, one way or another i'd choose cheating instead, it looks a lot healthier on many levels i mean, if i'd have to choose between letting my children (...say subcounsciously) be 'solo-cultivators' or, on the other hand 'womanizers' , i'd choose the second... better would be, that this situation should not even exist... it does not look so healthy. what happened to the good old normal sexual life of the married couple? sorry if it looks too critical... maybe i don't have your age and experience
  8. tooth regeneration

i'm very familliar with this kind of attitude, it comes usually from people that are "educated". sorry to break it to you buddy, but all they do with "education" is brainwashing. to the point that you cannot accept anything but what they've told you. science is evolving, yet they choose to teach it as a dogma. we loose, they gain $ sad but true... and kind of normal edit: just so you know, the information "fingerprint" of the substance is as important as the substance itself. not to leave you in the dark, look for dr. Bruce Lipton's works...
  9. Abstaining from masturbation

Let's see what the guy that you call an idiot would have to say in regard to nomad's problem: ...if i remember correctly, it'll go something like this... from taoist point of view, vices and bad habits are not bad from a moral standpoint. it's because they waste one or more of the Three Treasures. sometimes the bad habits are affecting the Jing, sometimes the Qi, sometimes the Shen. they usually affect two or more of them. there is a law in the universe that says energy does not go to waste, everything is feeding everything. on a more subtle level, bad habits are linked with entity influence: masturbation, smoking, drinking, overeating emotional imbalance, anger, depression etc., regular use of curse and bad language, "mental masturbation" (useless philosophy), emotional or sexual or mental fantasy... it's quite easy to go and tell somebody: stop doing it. oh he would, but the entities won't allow it. from the regular use and abuse of the vice, a neuropathway has been stabilized, and it triggers everytime the conditions are set (or the entity is hungry). meditation may be the best way to reclaim your Three Treasures, step by step, and become whole again. but first you need to know what are you dealing with, because you don't need false hopes. meditation is a powerful way to do that. this is what MC would say, i think. and as odd as it may sound, if his taoist magic really has power, MTS could help him. of course, the better way is not to need outside help...
  10. The FU that is annoying

Give the man a break you guys... If not for pitty's sake, then for fear that he will FU us into non-existance, or maybe whipe our species off the face of the TTB... or whipe something else... Rude now, wasn't I? Good PS edit: And i DO read Marx and Engels before bedtime And kiss the picture of Mao when I wake up It seems that Annoying FU is the best FU you came up with up till now... You were wondering about the visit score... Check this out!
  11. Wizard Wang Liping?

Thank you Harry, I think you already know your friendship means much to me All I wanted to tell you is that sometimes, in order to get a better grasp of the unseen, for some people, the best way is to take a deep dive into the seen world... Then the practice gets 1000% better. Can you imagine that? Good luck E,

So, a "close encounter" on the internet, that lasted some 6 months, does not count? For me it made all the difference... Seeing a part of a person that is rarely exposed, to the usual students at least... That's just one of many reasons, so much for confidence of knowing as little as me, sorry to bust your confidence in that. I know enough to say you could get to a good level following the path that you left behind. The only problem is in your mind, and it won't go away, or be healed, by jumping from one practice to another. For somebody else, staying with that "line" would be beneficial, but not for you. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm being like a judge to you, but I'm interested in you story, it's a lesson to me. There are some features that both of us share, that leads us to simmilar decisions and turns in life... It's a research about a possible outcome of a set of decisions that I didn't make. I hope you won't take it so personal. What's the cure? For me it was something that happened in the poor old material world. A touch of destiny that made me into something better, for somebody elses sake...
  13. Best Topics of 2008

I don't know about specific posts... maybe... "Why Taoism is different", which I enjoy reading... I always enjoy Daozhen's posts Taomeow's posts, Exorcist's posts, YMWong's posts, Mjjbecker's posts Wudangquan's posts, Smile's posts, Pietro's posts Karen's posts, Cat's posts, Mal's posts... I may miss some of you... Everytime i see a new post of these above, i go and read it... The order of the list is not so important.
  14. Wizard Wang Liping?

Smart move there And not a moment too soon Good luck Harry
  15. Wizard Wang Liping?

i remember someone put some summary of the practices taught at Jinhua, somewhere on the forum, but i couldn't find them
  16. Want To Say Im Sorry

Be ashamed? Leave? That's a bit odd... I'd say the other way around... you had the guts to say what many wouldn't. Including me. I reckon I waited for somebody else to do it... and you did. You spoke my mind, and maybe many others's too. Of course, there is room for improvement... This time you did it like a battle-axe... Next time you could do it like a razor-sharp samurai blade... For me, I rather appreciate an honest battle-axe, than a hypocrit praiser... with just one exception... me being it's subject... hehe!
  17. Wizard Wang Liping?

Does anybody have a list of the topics that were taught this autumn, by WLP? Thanks...
  18. Daoists usually die

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li_Qing_Yuen rumour has it he's still around
  19. Daoists usually die

I don't know if "my good deed" is another one's "good deed". The moral laws are different in different places. First we have to find out what good deeds really are. That definition of immortality... i think it reffers to the fact that the name of the person remains longer in the memory of humanity. For example great kings and rulers... One of the definitions of immortality, that does not necesarelly belong to daoism, most surely not, is that as long as you are remembered by your human fellows, your awareness is still alive, on the other side.
  20. Ok, let me take a shot at it... smile.gif I may have mentioned in one or two other threads that the notion of freedom as we understand it, and Taoism, exclude each other. It's not easy to understand that, and it's not hard, also. To "merge" with the Tao, to "abide" by it's laws, means you disconnect from a set of laws (social and energetic thermodynamics), and re-connect to the laws of nature. Which means you jump from one set of laws, with a predictible outcome - suffering, disease, aging, and death... ...To another set of laws, which you strife thru your lifestyle, to prove. You are the proof: no more illness, no more mental and emotional chaos and suffering, aging slowing down or even stopping, and then the great leap into the unknown, as an immortal maybe? Bruce Lee believed in no styles. For him, styles, schools, don't exist. Because men and women have only two arms and two legs. That's what he believed. Yet, he had to develop his school, his style, the style of no style, Jeet Kune Do. Depending on the Time, and Space, there have been settled different types of algorythms, for the human being to connect to the Great Beyound. What makes them different is precisely the fact that they have been designed in different Times and in different Spaces. It's like going on a trip: take your train, buy your tickets, jump in, enjoy the ride, and go all the way. If you'll jump from one train to another, where do you expect you'll end up? Thank you for your time L1 PS: I wrote the above message as an answer to another thread. I'm not putting this up just to show how smart I am, but there are in there some ideas that I really care about, and want to share, and maybe receive some feedback
  21. Mantak Chia

You need enough brownie points to find a really good teacher. That's the best start. Just like loosing your virginity, it doesn't matter how long you have to wait, as long as you find your "true love" I seek the man, not the method. L1
  22. Mantak Chia

Buyoung xie. There's always going to be criticism regarding whatever, it's easier... Don't worry, if you study it well enough, and find a good teacher or instructor, it will be the greatest investment in your life. Mantak Chia is an honest guy after all... every single practice he put out there, works and gets the results. I've seen it too many times to doubt it. The tricky part is to follow the exact instructions of Master Chia, not to gamble with practice. At least in the beggining years. Just follow the thin red line. About the research part... it has to come from a personal involvement into a project or collaboration with your teacher regarding the practices. There were many, and still are many. I can't tell what will get you through... I guess a ton of luck will do it Good luck L1
  23. Poll: non-Taoist influences

It' kinda crazy, methinks... Here's a sample: for activities related to survival, i always turn to nagualism's intent, impecabillity, and stalking the petty tyrant. After the survival phase passed, i turn to dao practice, that helps me develop and expand. Nagualism is my contracting state, Dao practice is my expanding state. They both work.
