wait a sec... if he cannot restore his power again, it can either be one of two 1. the girl was highly trained 2. the power wasn't his if you master your power, you can call it back, even if it's stolen. it's yours. and if you cannot do that, you can always create another. but that means you are in perfect understanding of chi... and chi is not bioelectricity, nor heat, nor light, nor magnetism...

Yes, Lin, and I still look for an answer: why do we associate spiritual development with religious cultivation. We can acknowledge only partial benefits to qi cultivation. But then, what is qi? What is qi, Lin?

He says: Lao Tsu said that Tao is the easiest way. If it's hard, it's not the Dao. But he also says you need to know a lot, to know what you are doing. Most of these masters were great schollars, with great intelligence, brainpower and wisdom. Interesting huh? Then what about: Blow your mind, forget about your mind, and thou shall attain the Dao He also says he has a completely different translation for the Tao Te Ching: The Tao Can Be Spoken, Thought Of, And Practiced But There Is No Eternal Tao Meaning Tao is eternally changing Thoughts?

Meow, I'm sure that was only a metaphor, or was it.

I guess one should ask oneself what are the functions of the Dan Tian. If one has the abilities that go together with having a Dan Tian, then logically, the Dan Tian exists. If not, not. The function of power source is mainly in the food we eat and air we breath. So there is not necessarely that we need a Dan Tian. Same with meridians, same with chakra, same with spirit, same with... you name it. It seems this was a common view in the ancient times. But the new time require that the ancient knowledge should be more palatable to the masses. So some things are kept, some things are lost. Like soul for instance, was the high acheivement of a dedicated even ascetic life, of work and spiritual practice, and cultivation of the De, virtue. But nowadays there is the presumption that everyone has one. I guess it depends on what you want to belive. But certain acheivements are always accompanied by certain signs, and this is the priceless lesson of the Magus of Java. It should awake at least a fiew... Little

ey, wow.. dude, kill the motor there are at least three types of "leading the energy". four, to be precise: 1. visualisation - it's for VISUAL types of person. it's psychollogy 101 2. kinestethic - 3. tactile- 4. - not leading the energy at all. it's again a lot of 101 psychollogy - the people that don't want to "lead" energy, don't like anybody "leading" them. basic issues with society, parents, girlfriends, boyfriends parents. it's just amazing how a couple of pages of a good psychollogy book can make out of carefull tanted philosophies PS: Everything is you need to adapt, and respect the way other people do simmilar things. -
I've been meaning to play the fool and ask the same question, in relation to what I've wrote in the "Warm Path" thread. So basically is like this: Jing Qi Shen You first need to know the working definition of these three. Jing is the essence of vitality. It's working definition was primarely essence stored in the ovaries/testicles, blood essence, hormone essence, saliva essence. There is another type of jing that is stored in the kidney, and the way to restore it is not known yet to everyone. But I think it is restorable. Others may think differently, it's ok. So, I tried to give you a glimpse at the first ingredient. There are various methods of gathering and transforming it into qi. There is more that could be said about jing... I think it's an interesting thread. If we want to, we can make it into the Bum's Summoning of Alchemy Wiz

Oh, no, your oppinion is interesting and it really counts. I think though we are ready to get to another level

Hi Taomeow, I admit I didn't thought of that before. It could make sense. But that would mean there are alot of gods and demons today, even more than in ancient times, brought by, as you say, li technology. As for Cheney, who hasn't heard the rumors. I know it's pretty delicate to discuss entities on a board of western daoism, where, even if we want it or not, we have borrowed some of the old fashion... was it "positivism"? Ah well, some of us grew up watching scooby doo. Yet, that and all, what hope do you see? Kuz stopping things doesn't seem to be our call. The best and most important tool we have as seekers is the spirit. But if the spirit is bound to... there I say it again... "feed" something or someone else, we, as humans, have little chanse for a revolution of awareness, like chicano Castaneda would love to call it - the Che of nagualism. If the only subconscious sollution to spiritual developement would be in the bindings of a religious system (we are "given" to them since we are little, thru specific rituals, every religion has it's way, the WASP way isn't so different)... how can we "beat" subconscious, other than, how you say, becoming more aware? So I guess I answered my own question... or did I? Being aware, having vision, are only parts, specific functions of the different inner spirits. It's the manifestation of this awareness that put's me to puzzles... Fusion, I understand your point. Please, try to see beyound that, because I myself am a fighter against doubt as a "scattered qi syndrome". The more I cultivate, the more it seems that there are really mostly three things I have to cultivate: vitality, awareness, and... mind. Mind being the one that senses. Yi. It senses new approaches and methods of rising vitality and awareness faster. And although doubt is an enemy, it is also a precious ally. Only doubt has the power of deconstructing. You need that every day. Because I am a new man everyday. If I'm not, I'm stuck. Even if the vitality and awareness are high. If the mind is "flat", I'm finished. I repeat: we may sense that spirituality is something more than what we seem to know. Like a dim light, inconvenient, because it casts doubts and shadows. It's something beyound. So beyound, that even masters and teachers are chasing hard to catch it's tail.

Hi, Taomeow,I remembered something I read, fact or fiction, from Alexandra David-Neel's books. She said that when she had a discussion with some tibetan abbot about bringing more the light of the Buddha to the people, and trying to stop them from falling into superstition and cheap mysticism... she heard the voice of a great demon, Mahakala or something, that said like: "These people are mine, you won't succeed". Afterwhich she commented more about the fact that there are a lot of rituals in Tibet that feed gods and demons, and they would surely become angry if people would see another way of... you know, being better, and give up the burning of incense and sacrifices. Maybe it's the same with what you say. People are bound to be religious, because the religious systems and living concepts (gods) are fed this way. I would say that would be a little pessimistic, but nevertheless, has truth in it...

Thank you guys, your oppinions are a lot of help. I'm happy to see we share simmilar understanding. I think the path of awareness really could be one of the easiest approaches. I really tried something like this some decade ago, and it really draws you near something valuable. You know what my real problem is? What I see is that the deeper understanding of spiritual practice is very different from usual understanding of spiritual practice. Actually is... how do you say... peculiar. Is not something neither logical nor illogical, it is simple and selfsustaining and working lively... These words have nothing to do with it's description, it is the "spirit" behind it, if you can sense it. So naturally I'm drawn to the same old question, what if spirituality is something totally diferent from what we know, and masters are totally different from what we know, and the way is totally different from what we know... I ask myself these quite often, and it's one of the best ways for me to go even more deeper. And it seems to be a deeper layer everytime. Hope I made sense, I tried to.

tell me about it.. I know, but this is the way people seem to think. why do you think it's a fallacy? Thanx guys

That's interesting: I suppose spirits follow cultivators around and try to make us fail because a cultivator has more energy, he is just a juicy bite. Addiction is something interesting too... seems if you are addicted, and die, you will hunt people around as a ghost, and push them into the same addiction. And then feed on their satisfaction. I think smoking was a spirit practice too. And maybe other addictions. They offered the spirits the object of their addiction, and asked for... God knows what, something a ghost could give you. Thrills ???

I think she only wrote that ONLY to give people a different perspective on the same subject, that seems to be her game, and it's an interesting one. I doubt very much she would encourage smoking.

Taoists attribute to Chang-chun the core of the work known as Journey to the West, a symbolic story encapsulating Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucian teachings. Journey to the West was popularized in drama during the Yuan dynasty (1277-1367) and elaborated during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) into one of the most famous and most popular novels of Chinese literature. Comments on the interior significance of Journey to the West, written by Liu- I-ming, an eleventh-generation master of the Dragon Gate sect, can be found translated into English in Vitality, Energy, Spirit

You need to know what you need, what is the side you need to balance. We keep hearing stories that some guy did that and it worked out well... But that was for him, he needed that method to balance his own configuration. There is some general method, as Bruce Lee said, there is only one way, because our bodies and minds are build the same. But everyone has something else to deal with. That's why you can follow a famous method and get nowhere, because it is not for you. You have a weak part, or element, or whatever, that needs to be balanced out. And with balance, the Gate opens. We usually are attracted to things that only make our stronger part even stronger, and do not care about the weakest. Is like muscle people like to build more muscle, and brainiacs more brain, and so on. The answer to this lies in the Heavens. What that means, you'll find out, if Heavens think you deserve it. I think everyone does, but it's not my call. Don't take it wrong, this is what happens to all that have got the chanse to do it. Good luck -
reminds me about the movie "Thank you for smoking" my take: smoking really is a bridge to the Yin world, this is how I feel around people that smoke. the energy becomes yin, and it seems that the urge to smoke again is triggered by the entities that thrive on the pleasure derived from smoking... someone said that smokers are just feeding "ghosts", and intoxicating others, both phisically and energetically sorry

http://www.cancergame.org/ The Cancer Game was an idea originally conceived by Dave Kristula, now a graduate of Albright College, during his near month-long stay in 1998 at Hershey Medical Center for a stem cell rescue (bone marrow transplant), treating his recurrent Hodgkin's Disease. In the fall of 2002, Kristula took a class with a new professor, Yuko Oda, who was teaching advanced uses of Macromedia Director software. Kristula developed a small, silly game in under four weeks, all while completing three additional classes. In the spring of 2003, Albright College began requesting proposals for ten-week summer grant projects. Kristula approached Oda, suggesting the possibility of the game, and Oda signed on as faculty collaborator. After some debate, the college approved the project, which commenced on June 2, 2003 -- with a $500 budget. Over the course of the next ten weeks, Kristula and Oda researched current essays and books on the healing through visualization therapies, focusing on stress relief and the power of the Shaman of old. After four weeks of research, programming and art development began. Public beta 1 is the product of this ten week project, and while it needs a little bit of work here and there, overall the designers are satisfied with the project.

It looks like a fascinating journey. And it seems rather... never-ending, expanding yang-like... One thing I didn't understood: People like to help more than they like to be helped... So, what do you think?
