That does probably look pretty funny! I practice Red Phoenix while I am walking so I get in an extra practice session that way. I also started doing the 5 elements before my evening session to bring in more energy. Craig

I heard Max mention at a lecture that sometimes anything electrical will die out. Like cellphones, computers, car batteries. Batteries will drain in 10 - 15 minutes. One of his top students Mari, mentioned she had some problems with this type of phenomena happening.
-
Max said in one of his lectures that we should not practice between 1pm and 3 pm as it is a too negative time. People in general are usually the most negative at this time. They also mentioned never to practice in the hot sun when outside and not to practice near lakes, rivers, streams, etc. Craig
-
I've asked Max that before and he told me that as long as I feel okay from practicing twice a day it would be all right. If you start to have some kind of ill effect then cut back to once a day. Lately my morning practice is long and my evening practice before bed is usually short as I am too tired then.
-
Max gave me the following guidelines to follow when deciding what time to practice. 5 am - 7 am - For health. Yang Qi for healing. 1 pm - 3 pm - Forbidden time to practice. Too hot. 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm - Good time for Kunlun. 11 pm - 1 am - Time of spiritual powers. Daoist magick. Good time for Red Phoenix to develop abilities. More cooling time. 3 am - 3:15 am - Connect with living things outside of this world. All the Masters are up at this time at this time. Craig

Sean, Stealing chi from another living thing such as an animal (and causing them to die) to benefit yourself in your spiritual practice in my opinion is psychic vampirism. Think of the most spiritual and holy persons you have met or read about. Do you think they would partake in this practice? Craig
-
Well good luck if you decide to continue studying with David and Sifu Jiang.
-
Forget about the powers. Why do you want to follow this path? Stealing chi from bulls to fill the Dan Tien? Does that sound right? In my opinion I would suggest finding a Master to study with who you think is enlightened, that you feel happy around, and you don't have these nagging questions in your mind if something the Master is doing is right or wrong. Craig
-
It doesn't seem right to me either. People who think it is okay keep coming up with reasons why it is all right. Like only a few people did it and we freed the shen from the bull. Give me a break.

Lin, That was a good article and I am glad that you wrote it. The teacher I was previously studying with I found out that his Master was taking chi from bulls to fill the Dan Tien of the students. The bulls would die a week later. It seemed wrong to me. I asked Max about this practice during a private session. He told me that this was chi stealing because you are taking life force from an object that you are not supposed to be taking it from. The bull doesn't give you permission to steal its life force. This is following the left hand path of Daoism. Max told me that there is a price to pay for that in that the person would have a slow and painful death. Max said that the Daoist Masters that he has known that have followed the left handed path have gone crazy or died slow and painful deaths. He said that this is from taking life force from others and not doing the work yourself. He said that a lot of times the Masters who follow the left handed path will have their son or daughter die an early death so as a practice many of these Masters will only teach members outside the family. Max told me that in the old days lots of Masters did this because it was a matter of life or death and that they had to protect their family and temples but he said that he has never seen anyone reach enlightenment by taking life force from another. He told me that you need to have patience to do the work yourself and mentioned that Kunlun was designed for you to do it yourself so you don't have to take it from something outside yourself. Craig

East Coast Kunlun Workshop location brainstorm
portcraig replied to Yoda's topic in General Discussion
Cameron, Sounds like a plan. Do what you think is best for you and I am sure it will work out. For me it has been hard to find a teacher who offers a way so readily to achieve something so lofty like gold dragon body. That is why I am jumping on it and trying to achieve the most I can while he is around. Craig -

I practice Red Phoenix whenever I have a chance. During my meditation times, and during walking, etc. I have never had a problem with it so I guess it has a different effect on everyone. If you want to have the goal of trying to achieve gold dragon body one day you will need to learn to combine the two according to Max. -

I would suggest taking advantage of the seminars while Max is teaching them. I have been in contact with one of Max's students in Hawaii and he said they were pretty bummed out when Max quit teaching them so he could start teaching the seminars over here on the mainland. Craig -
Pros and Cons of sharing spiritual experiences
portcraig replied to Yoda's topic in General Discussion
It is probably best to do what the teacher you are studying with suggests. I have studied with another Master once who said the same thing. I think I read where Chris posted that sometimes Max will only suggest to you do something once. He may not tell you again. Everyone will have their own experiences. It is probably not good to try and have the same things happen to you as perhaps that isn't what you need to happen. It is all right I think to share about experiences you are having with the physical part of the practice and how it is impacting your life. -
I am still practicing Kunlun, Red Phoenix, and the Maoshan 5 elements. I have been going to a seminar each month since August. I have been practicing in the morning and at night and during the day when I can. I am happy with the progress I have been making. I haven't been posting lately but have been reading with interest what you guys are writing. Did Max take you guys on a special outing in Phoenix? That would be interesting in hearing about. I noticed that my movements in Kunlun have become more softer lately. Perhaps that is from starting to do Kunlun Level 2 this month. In the book it mentions that the abrupt movements in Level 1 will not happen as much once you start doing Level 2. Max told me that most people will give up on Level 2 as eventually you will get to 36 repetitions on each side and you can be holding your breath up to 2 to 3 minutes. for each one. I am going to keep at it. I had some very interesting internal experiences and wanted to tell everyone about them. Max advised me to keep them to myself as everyone has their own personal experiences and it dissipates the energy when you tell people about them. Anyway I am glad that a few people have taken to the Kunlun practice and hope to see you guys at some of the future seminars. Craig

I mentioned this before when the same question came up a few days ago. Max told me the following during a private session. If you combine Kunlun with the Red Phoenix you can eventually attain a golden dragon body which is the highest state a Daoist can attain. Max said that none of his Kunlun or Maoshan teachers had been able to do this but when he combined the two practices (Kunlun and Red Phoenix) he discovered that one could attain the golden dragon body. When I took my first seminar Max kept telling me to be like water. My movements before he told me this were all fast as I have a lot of fire energy built up in my body. I have had to keep working on being more like water. Kunlun deals with the downward flow which is a cooling energy and not the kundalini which is the upward flow and is a fire energy. Maybe the heat one feels is the cooling downward flow mixing with the fire already present in the body. Craig

I am very thankful that Max is offering the seminars. I have paid much more for previous metaphysical seminars. They don't charge that much and give you a discount if you have previously attended. The transmission was real for me and definitely helped my progress. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to study with Max. Craig

Nice Experience! I have had OBE's on occasions over the years. I have had three since I have been studying with Max. They involved different things regarding what he has been teaching. One of them dealt with some of the Kunlun masters. It was an inner confirmation for me that what Max was teaching was authentic and that I should continue to pursue it. Craig

Cameron, Max has told me a few things about the Golden Dragon body. He told me that it is the highest state a Daoist can attain and is the highest evolution you can do in a physicalized form. In Chinese mythology they are know as the Wu Dragons. They were the Daoists that basically transmuted their body into a higher or finer state of energy. Max discovered by combining the Kunlun and Red Phoenix practices in a certain way that one could achieve it. Craig

Max told me that the ultimate goal of Kunlun is for enlightenment or to awaken you. To go back to the source and realize the divine self. There are a lot of other benefits before that, like good health. If you combine Kunlun with the Red Phoenix Max said that you can eventually attain a golden dragon body which is the highest state a Daoist can attain. Max said that none of his Kunlun or Maoshan teachers had been able to do this but when he combined the two practices (Kunlun and Red Phoenix) he discovered that one could attain the golden dragon body. Craig

You don't want to leave the energy in the head so bring it down to your dantien when you are done with Kunlun so you can store it there. Put your right hand on the dantien with the left hand over it. Craig

Max has said at the seminars that I attended that Kunlun deals with the downward flow and lots of other practices deal with the upward flow so that is why there may be a conflict. He suggested to take 30 days to just devote to Kunlun without doing other energy practices and then decide if you want to continue doing Kunlun or go back to your other practices. After my first seminar I felt a lot of energy. Then I started practicing Kunlun, Red Phoenix, and the Maoshan 5 elements each day. I definitely felt a change in energy. I sort of felt like my body was full of energy and if I added anything else I might get sick. I had no desire to practice anything else. People who are interested in Kunlun will have to see how if works for them or how to fit it into their lives with their current practices. I usually don't practice Kunlun for over 30 minutes but when I combine Red Phoenix it starts to add up to one hour. I also practice Red Phoenix throughout the day when walking, etc. Craig

I got the book and practiced about two weeks before the seminar in August. I had a few things happening, like the body circling. When I went to the seminar Max corrected a few things I was doing wrong and told me to be more like water as I had too much fire energy inside of me. My practice is much different now. I feel lots of changes happening and my dreams are becoming interesting. There are other things that Max teaches at the seminar like Red Phoenix, standing Maoshan 5 elements, spirit travel, and 3 pts healing method. This is also just the Level 1 seminar. I suppose there will be a Level 2 workshop in the future. I told Max that there were a lot of people who were talking about just reading the book and trying to get the transmission through the dream state and his reply to me was that you only have to see him one time. I know for myself that it helped me a lot by attending the seminar. I would just use your intuition and see how drawn you are to this practice. Craig
