Cat, I already described earlier in this topic the experiences that I had and also what I saw going on at the seminar in August. I really like what I learned and look forward to the meditation each evening and plan to repeat the level 1 seminar in two weeks. Max also taught us a couple of other things at the seminar including the standing Mao Shon five elements which I have been practicing each morning when I wake up. Craig

Lama Dorje gave us all a transmission during the Level 1 workshop in August.

Cameron, I am planning to attend Lama Dorje's (Max's) seminar in September. It will be my second seminar with him and am looking forward to it. I had some reservations before I attended the first one in August. The movie trailer seemed pretty wild and I didn't know what to think of it but for some reason I was drawn to attend the lecture and seminar. When I first saw Max he was dressed like a normal person as he didn't have any robes on like in the movie. He is quite friendly and quite knowledgeable and goes out of his way to make people feel welcome. I guess best of all is that the meditation he was teaching seemed to be working for almost all the people in the room. It has kept working for me since the seminar and I look forward to doing the meditation each night. Hope to see some of you there. Craig

Matt regarding your questions. When we met Shifu Luo, he exhibited the ability to emit an electrical type of charge from his hands to open up certain points such as the Dan Tien, Crown, third eye. I don't think Max has that electrical ability at least he didn't show me that. I don't think that is part of his lineage. He seems to teach more a method for awakening. He does seem to be able to move his students around without touching them. Perhaps that is because they are intune with his energy. I am not sure he would be able to do it with strangers. I only attended one seminar with him so I don't know. I did hear a few of his students talk about some amazing things that they have seen him do. One guy mentioned that Max had formed a tornado in a park during the class. Max from what I gather has at least one or two students that have reached an advanced stage or I guess you would call it an awakening or enlightenment. One girl was at the seminar and she was helping him out. Another guy named Kan is in the movie trailer. He is in the trailer in a few places and he is the guy throwing a punch at Max at the end. Max told us that Kan had an awakening experience and showed us some extra video with Kan in it where he had a realization and Max was downloading the knowledge from his lineage directly into Kan's mind. I don't think Max studies anymore from any teacher but he is part of the Kunlun lineage and probably other ones too. Regarding why I am taking a break from Foundation Training is I am not sure it is for me. I wrote David some questions regarding the training and he hasn't answered yet so I thought I would take a break until if and when he answers. Then I would decide if I should continue.

Pero, I had experiences at the seminar and in practicing the meditation since then, that is why I am recommending studying with Lama Dorje. Almost everyone else, probably about 80 percent of the people in the room, also seemed to be having experiences. Everyone seemed to be having different type of experiences I guess based on what they needed to work through or what is holding them back from having an awakening. I have only attended one seminar so I don't really know what it is all about except it seems to take myself into a type of trance and meditation state. At the seminar several people were going through spontaneous laughter episodes as they kept laughing (I didn't have that experience.) I heard a couple of people speaking in toungues. Some people seemed to be shaking quite wildy. Several people were moving around in spontaneous yogic postures which included myself. I also found my body going into certain yogic postures and found myself frozen in those positions. Max had to help me out of one at the end. I also had some visions that appeared to me during trance. One guy was in such a deep trance that they couldn't wake him so they just left him alone and eventually he came out of it. Max talked about some people have the experience of going through a type of death experience and then experiencing an enlightenment during meditation. So I guess the answer to your question is yes I had some experiences and I seem to be having experiences everytime I sit for meditation. Lama Dorje gives an empowerment to the people at the seminar. You can read the book but I think you need to see him at least once for it to work for you. Matt, I attended David Verdesi's Foundation Training in Thailand a year ago and was fortunate to meet Sifu Luo. In July I went to Denmark for David's retreat. I am currently taking a break from the Foundation Training.

I attended the seminar in Los Angeles last week with Lama Dorje. He likes to be callled Max. I actually found out about Lama Dorje by someone posting about him on this forum about a month ago. It was my first time meeting him and I really enjoyed it. I think most of the other group of about 30 persons did so also. That is why he is coming back in September. There was one person there who had flown in from Michigan and I was sitting next to a guy who I think drove in from Arizona. There were also some people from Hawaii. Max is a friendly and nice person. He doesn't seem to mind sharing what he has learned in his many years of practice. A lot of things he teaches would be considered "secrets" by others but he doesn't seems to mind sharing them. Max has a lot of knowledge and energy to share with people. I would say about 80 percent of the people there were having some type of experience during the meditation and a lot of them appeared to be quite strong type of experiences. You can read about the types of experiences on his website or in his book or on the movie trailer. It seems to be a very effective type of meditation. He said it is one of the few remaining styles of meditation that is taught in the original manner. I would recommend him highly. http://www.risingredphoenix.com/index.html http://www.lamathunderbolt.com/

You are welcome. It is probably best if people want to have more specific information about what David teaches, that they follow Sean's instructions about learning about the Foundation Training. I just wanted to share my experience about meeting David, Sifu L, and starting the Foundation Training. It seemed like a lot of you had similar questions that I had when I was forming a group to meet with David. I hope my experience and comments answered some of the questions.

Spyrelx, I felt like the Foundation Training was very valuable experience for me. David has us meditating with the method that he taught us, twice a day for about a hour at a time, plus other practices. I have always meditated a little bit, but this took it up another notch and I can definitely feel the difference. We are also going through a 4 month celibacy period. Foundation Training purpose is to build the chi and the Dan Tien so that in about two years you wil be prepared to start advanced work. I am assuming David will be teaching what he is learning form Sifu J, since he is now a family disciple, to the advanced students and he mentioned taking them to see Sifu J.

Cat, I just meant that it was incredible in the sense that it was such an extraordinary type of experience. While Sifu L was touching the various points there was so much chi pouring in that felt like a very strong eletrical current. When he touched the Bai Hui a white light was visible inside the head from the burst of electricity. I have never met anyone that could do that and I don't think that probably many other people have either. I was very grateful that a Master was opening my spiritual centers so that I could progress faster with my meditation. It also showed to me what I could possibly achieve if I continued along with this type of path. I didn't feel envy, it was a feeling more of thankfulness that I was having that experience.

I went with Sean to train with David during the Foundation Training in August. I had never met David until then. I first started emailing David last summer (2005) after finding his website email address. (The website is no longer functioning.) David was kind enough to reply to all my emails. I kept bugging him about Foundation training and he finally agreed this year but he had a condition. I had to find five people who would also participate. I was a part of a private forum that discussed John Chang and his Mo Pai teachings as well as other similar teachings. We were all sort of disappointed at that time as Sifu Chang was no longer teaching westerners. I finally organized a group of 6 people that wanted to go through the training. We were all tired of just discussing the teachings and wanted to actually experience it. Before meeting David I researched all the topics about him on the internet. I read about all the dirt just like you are doing. So of course I was a little worried. Well when I met David and saw how normal he was and when the retreat actually started I felt a lot better as I felt responsible for everyone signing up for the retreat. David even laughed about some of the things that are written about himself on the internet. We met with David in Thailand and the first two days he took us to see Sifu L. Sifu L touched different points like the Bai Hui, Dan Tien, and third eye in order to help us with our meditation and the upcoming Foundation Training. What was incredible was the electricity that came out of his fingers. It was almost like sticking your finger in an electrical outlet. To me that experience made the whole trip worth it. I still feel the point on the Bai Hui where Sifu L had touched when I think about it. I must say that David is very connected to several Masters. At the time we had met he said he had met 8 Yin Yang Gong Masters and two of them were women. I guess that number is larger now that he is initiated by Sifu J as a family disciple. During the retreat I heard David speaking with Sifu John Chang on the telephone. A girl at our retreat mentioned that David had taken a group of them to meet with Sifu Chang the previous December. I also spoke with David about Wang Liping. David had told us that he was a personal teacher of Wang Liping. I asked David how he communicated with him and David said by telephone and he showed me his telephone where he had Wang Liping's phone number listed. After the Foundation Training David invited us all to go with him to China to see his wife and himself initiated as family disciples of Sifu J who is a Yin Yang Gong Master. He is part of a lineage that we call Lei Shen Dao or Thunder and Lightning path. Sean was the only one that had the money or time to go. So we all waited for his trip report. I would recommend studying with David if you actually want to start training in this type of meditation (Thunder and Lightening Path) and want to have the opportunity to meet with genuine Masters as opposed to just talking about it.
