Ah so you think that school or university etc. teachers shouldn't get paid and find a real job instead? That's interesting...
-
Someone should post the link to that Bodri article (I would, but I can't right now hehe).
-
Well, the way I understand it is that he is supposed to appear when the dharma is basically completely gone, to turn the wheel of dharma again, which isn't now. We are in the dharma ending age, but it's not over yet.

If soon equals centuries you might be right.

I wish Buddy was here.

Oh you didn't understand what I meant, it was not an insult, just an example (albeit not skillful), so sorry if I've upset you. What it meant was you can't say you weren't yourself when you were still a baby, and you are yourself now, yet you don't ask for your mom anymore. Does that mean you're not yourself anymore? So hence, self is relative, you can change it to what you want it to be, and it doesn't mean you aren't yourself anymore. Or you could say you aren't your old self anymore. (and no, what I said had nothing to do with anything Pietro said)

You could look into the Joker's stuff, I can't for the life of me remember his name. Maybe it's Dave something. Maybe Pietro knows. Anyway, I liked him the most of all these PUA guys. He's incredible, heck I almost thought he could've picked me up and I'm not even gay.

Oh so you still call for your mommy when you have to take a dump? That's tough man. Or do you wear diapers still? "Self" is relative.
-
It seems to me you should ask Plato...
-
"Level of Rinpoche"... haha. "Rinpoche" is basically a honorific title meaning "precious one", not a level of attainment. Anyway, I read on e-sangha that he spent time in India and learned from the Sakyapas.

For me there's no need to reconcile the systems in the way that one element from one should correspond to one element from the other system. I don't see any benefit. The way I see it though, is that the 5 phases are more gross, and the 5 elements more subtle. So you can separate one element into 5 also, like water of water, fire of water, air of water, earth of water and space of water and so on... But I guess you can turn it around too, I think it's more like a relative thing. Someone used one system to describe phenomena, someone used another.
-
You are speaking from experience?
-
You could say that. The main Systema guys like Ryabko for example are very religious. IMO, it's where a lot of their ability is coming from, faith can be a very powerful thing.

Would You Like To See A Sub-Forum Just For Qigong/Neigong/Cultivation Discussion?
Pero replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
Well I can't vote either yes or no, because both is fine with me. -
Human nature. Maybe this will seem really rude, but anyway... Why? Because he meditated for 10+ years and got nothing from it? Human nature, and nature of discussion forums I guess.

Right, excessive being the key word. Pietro mentioned the old Healing Tao forum. I remember visiting once. Basically all I could see was swearing and so I simply thought that the board is populated mostly by trolls and never came back. I don't like excessive or often but I don't mind using/reading a swear word here and there, so here is good, although it became a little sissified perhaps... (edit: fixed some mistakes)

Bill Bodhri on paying for spiritual teachings.
Pero replied to Taiji Bum's topic in General Discussion
I think I recieved it too, but I don't really like Bodri so much, so I didn't read it as I only occasionaly read what I get from him, so thanks for posting it. This article is great. -
That's wonderful.

I'm very sorry to hear that Lin, my mother is also not well (heavy deppression). And I think a change of her habits would help her a lot too, and her doctor told her this as well. But habits are difficult to change... In any case, though not meant for me, you give good advice also for me, thanks. Other than that, my problems are basically the same as usual (my habits I guess haha). Procrastination, doing irrelevant things, and so not practicing/studying as much as I should/could. But I'm trying to work on it. I used to feel somewhat superior to people around me because I was doing meditation and stuff also. It still happens sometimes, but it's very rare. Really I see I'm sometimes just as screwed up (or more) as someone who doesn't do anything at all. Now my "problem" is more the fact that there isn't practically anyone near me that is into any kind of spirituality. Even a friend who used to be, now pretty much dropped out of it. It can be a little lonely sometimes, thank god for internet haha. But anyway it's very personal for me, so I guess that there isn't anyone here is not so much the problem as is that the people who are just aren't really aware much. And then they pull you down too, back into habits that were being created for some time (I'm not talking about the habits above, that's just me, but for example more emotion stuff). So I can understand when some masters of the past say to leave one's family, friends and even country when you start practicing. All are things with which we form many attachments/habits, difficult to overcome. So this is the area I'm trying to work with, to not get pulled into old patterns of communication and stuff.

I see. May I ask why?
-
But tummo technique by itself doesn't lead to enlightenment either.
-
Mwight, so what? He learned to heat up his body or whatever, big deal. I have that power too. I can wear warmer clothes. His power is cooler though. Anyway, if you think that will get you enlightenment why don't go to this guy and learn from him? Then when you learn it, come back and tell us how much more enlightened you are. I think it's kind of like asking Pithagoras to teach you how to construct a space ship because he figured out some math stuff.
-
Mwight, you know those monks who do tummo? They also chant mantras. A lot of them. They probably chanted hundreds of thousands of mantras before they even learned it. That said, I don't really buy wicca and a lot of new age stuff either. I mean maybe people can have some benefit, better life, but that's it. But I think similarly about qigong (except I know for sure it's not just bs unlike some other things) which you value so highly...
