I don`t know, this looks staged to me.

Mantra, ROFLMAO! :D

So when you sleep and don't have thoughts you don't exist? And eternalism is an extreme, for some people I think they want to believe it because they are afraid of dying. But it's still better to be an eternalist than a nihilist.
-
I think that this is an oversimplification. Here it sounds very easy but it`s not. And telling someone to just go towards the strongest light is IMO very bad advice. Because as I understand it, for example, if one has accumulated a lot of hatred during life, the strongest will be the light leading to hell.... But in any case, you won`t be able to see them, unless you have developed something like clairvoyance. Also I`m not sure if it`s not to late perhaps, when these lights start manifesting, for the dead person to hear you. Where does it say here that you trigger things that happen during death? Though you do something a little similar to death every night when you fall asleep.

ROFLMAO!!!!!! Heheh, thanks for the info.

Sooo, if I visualize, let's say Keira Knightley for example, that would be wrong?

Oh come on Max, you have to tell us something at least.

WYG, this isn't that Sean. Who's Michelle?

Yawn. All this talk of meat is making me hungry. Maybe I'll go on a walk and get myself a chicken kebab. Or I could go to a McDonalds, haven't been in ages. Though it is a bit cold outside, so I might just get some salami from the store. I could order a horse burger, but they always bring it cold, which sucks. Otherwise horse meat is really delicious, anyone tried it?

I saw this some time ago, amazing.

Everything that is gained can also be lost.

So you`re not a human really, but an artificial intelligence?
-
I`m not so sure about that.
-
Wow, that`s messed up...

I don`t think that with "adherence to wrongful rites, rituals and ceremonies" Buddha meant Tantric (Buddhist) practices. He taught Tantra as well (to some king or something, I forgot). I`m not Tibetan. I`m sorry I couldn`t give you the answer you wanted. I wish you all the best on your journey.
-
Ok, so basically you`re calling the practices garbage as well then. Because the practices come from the masters who said the same things. It didn`t come into existence at all, because nothing exits. But anyway, the Primordial Buddha was never deluded. At the "beginning" he got enlightened, sentient beings didn`t. It`s actually pretty complicated. At least it seemed that way to me, but then I didn`t put much thought into it because I`m not that interested in knowing this right now. I have way to little knowledge to explain this.

The thing is, most people don`t remember their past lives. So you can`t know whether you received empowerment or not. Also, in Vajrayana, there are samayas that go with the empowerments. So if you received an empowerment in a previous life and it would hold for all your future lives you would also have samaya for all those lives. But if you don`t remember, then you will inevitably break it. Luckily this isn`t so, you have to retake all empowerments, vows, whatever. Also, even the Tulkus retake empowerments even though they`re supposed to be reincarnations of masters.

What is the context? Buddha did practices too. But, what is not a fetter to enlightenment? Receiving transmission does not make you a saint. It`s not like when you receive transmission, the lineage governs your actions or something. Also, people shouldn`t forget their common sense. It`s said that the teacher should be thoroughly examined before starting to follow him.

Hmmm what advertising? I never saw any, just sort of stumbled on it by "coincidence". It`s not inaccessible. Like I said, Lopon Rinpoche was in Italy last month. And there were teachings on Bon Dzogchen in France from July 22 to August 10, I also remember some being in England in the past... There are many teachings going on, also for example on HDOD in France in April 2008. You just have to look for it, not want it to be brought before you on a silver plater. http://www.yungdrungbon.nl/ http://www.ligmincha.org/ligww/ligww.html Lol, actually I don`t, really. I think Rex knows much much much more than me. I understand not taking my word for it, no problem at all. Thing is, it`s not my word only, but of Dzogchen teachers as well. BTW, I asked about that quote you gave me. And the answer from a student of Lopon Rinpoche was that you do need a teacher in Bon as well. Basically the teacher gives you the path, but it`s up to you to realize it. Beats me, I wouldn`t do it. Unless if I`d master something, then it might be a different story.

He has to receive it again in this life.
-
Yes, he was a boddhisattva before becoming a Buddha. What do you mean with initiation? Good question. I don`t know how it is in Bon. But I will ask.
-
Yes you`re right, I`ve been using them interchangeably, sorry. But anyway, transmission from a book??? Buddha had teachers. In the life he achieved enlightenment in and previous lives. He remembered his teacher from previous lives through the power of his meditation. Well, in same way, why would anyone listen to some guy over the internet instead the great masters of the past? Nope, because you can`t practice without the transmission. Being done properly means having transmission. Also, how would you know if you`re doing things properly without a teacher? I have yet to hear about anyone who achieved enlightenment with dzogchen and not have a teacher. How do you know that, if you didn`t receive direct introduction and do dzogchen practice? The practice requires that a teacher directly introduces you to your own real nature. And this goes from teacher to teacher, hence lineage. Garab Dorje`s first statement is Direct Introduction.... And just so, if you think I`m arguing or something, I think I`m actually being pretty nice. But anyway man, you do whatever you want, you`re responsible for yourself. Just don`t go around claiming you`re practicing dzogchen without a teacher.
-
The daoist require transmission too. The initiation a draw back? ... Possibly, but again, go practice that if you think it doesn`t require transmission. Dzogchen is always Dzogchen no matter how you call it. But you can`t know what it is without a teacher. No contradiction. You can say that this is according to Dzogchen teaching, which is fine. But then, if you don`t agree and do otherwise, don`t call it Dzogchen. "Initiations" were always given, though perhaps not in the way they are now. Garab Dorje to Manjushrimitra to Shri Singha to Padmasambhava etc... All these great masters receiving transmission, which is going on till this day. And if these great masters went for initiations why wouldn`t we?
