Has anyone heard of or used the O.R.B.I.E.?...........O.R.B.I.E. stands for Optimum, Regenerative, Biofield, Instrument, and Ener-chi System. ............It is a self powered subtle energy device that has an assortment of uses........It can be used to clear one's personal environment of toxins and pollutants as well as on the body itself to clear energy blocks, chakras, meridians etc...............Their website is pretty cool and there is more scientific info on O.R.B.I.E and all the ways it can be used..........................www.theenerchistore.com

Well, I saw everyone buying stuff and I kind of felt left out so I just ordered O.R.B.I.E.................what finally convinced me was an e-mail I got from a user (off site) who said that it's the most amazing device for personal manifestation that he's used and there are countless uses also................I bought a couple of other subtle energy devices in the past and have been disappointed, but I have a good vibe on O.R.B.I.E.

I've been doing standing still chi kung from Master Lam Kam Cheun's "Way Of Energy" on and off for a few years now..............Every now and then, I'll miss a few days, but overall I've been pretty consistant with it and have gotten good results..............My stamina and circulation are better..........I sleep deeper and feel more centered.......................For awhile now, I've heard very good things about CFQ Healing and a few months back when I inquired about CFQ on this site, Ian was gracious enough to provide info since it is a practice that he's done......................Here's my conflict.........I would love to learn CFQ and even contacted an instructor in Canada........I told him that I do a standing practice and he said that if I were to learn CFQ I would have to give up the standing................Why?............Because according to the CFQ system, other types of qigong such as storing qi, internal obits, standing etc all cause tension and will cause blockages........While CFQ is about relaxing and dropping tension out through the body enabling better meridian flows........................Has anyone done both and continued to do so? Thanks

Last year I got a job on a fishing boat...........Duties included net repair, galley work and supplying bait for the fishing equipment...........I was really adept at the latter, that I got a promotion............And now,......... ......I'm the Master-Baiter!!
-
Thanks folks for all the great imput........Ian, thanks for dropping by with the info on Master Yap......Though I don't have the opportunity to study CFQ within a seminar or retreat setting, not yet anyway, ...........I do have a few of the books and an old VHS tape (circa 2000) of Chok Hiew doing the 7 hexagram dance movements that can get me started.

Beautiful.............Thanks!

I still don't know how to navigate here for comments and for some reason when I wanted to comment on Freeform's imput all I got was the previous comment......................After all that, I wanted to say. Ditto...... Freeform!

Well during the stimulant phase, I wasn't into any sort of meditation...............Havng the experiences came as a by product of doing the drugs which led me to question my personal reality and as I mentioned earlier, led to a more holistic form of work on oneself......I am in no way advocating drug use...........A good book that I read, which is probably out of print was, "Drugs and The Mind" by Robert DeRopp.........I believe Mr. DeRopp was a Neurochemist and his book was about the effect hallucinogens had on the brain..................What left a lasting impression on me was that he said (and I'm paraphrasing)-"Picture the mind as having 7 rooms.......Most of the time, we all are in room 1(waking consciousness) and we rarely stray from room 1 to room 2, except when we sleep or are in a deeply relaxed state.........When you do hallucinogens, you can go from room 1 to room 7 or any of the others without any control mechanism."..........It was his explanation for various states of consciousness and the untapped potential of the brain which can lead to amazing and devastating experiences...........That scared the living crap out of me and I'm awefully lucky I never tried to fly!.................Now I just breathe deep and drink coffee.
-
In the 70's, I did a lot of experimenting with hallucinogens and had quite a few psychic experiences............One time I was at a party and had done some mushrooms.............For what seemed like hours, I knew what people were going to say before they opened their mouths.....I just had this knowing in my solar plexus and then WOW!............Something that couldn't be put into words......................Another time, a group of us dropped some acid and we were sitting around chatting and as the trip progessed, we all became silent and into our own groove so to speak.......Then without notice and with everyone still quiet, people started communicating in pictures........We were literally throwing images at each other to see if we could accurately transmit thought........Kind of like playing catch with pictures with our consciousness being the glove...............After a few more of these experiences, I realised that these abilities are in everyone and took the natural route for self development....................One of the best teachers I've ever had in developing telepathy was from my cat Popeye(rest his soul).................That little guy was a psychic transmitter in a feline body and he would read thoughts like there was no tomorrow!........My experience with him is that when I thought about having a snack, he would be waiting in the kitchen or think about going out and he would be at the door,,,,,,,I could go on and on........................Oh well............voices in my head, gotta go!

Being someone who is bald and have been for awhile now, it cracks me up whenever I see someone with "roadkill" on their head or a really bad combover............and Mr. Ming has the latter. Whenever I looked through his books,my immediate attention would be to focus on the combover and not the lesson...................I'm from New England and his school is about 50 miles up the road in the Boston area and I know a few folks who have studied with him and he's definitely the real deal.............I guess what I'm getting at is, Mr. Ming is so focused on the Tao and chi, he doesn't notice or care about that "retractable roof" going on on top of his cranium...................My hang-up, I guess...............................As far as the new book goes, I haven't seen it........but I have seen......................

With all this chatter about why bothering to talk..............I thought this might be a good lead in to a web-site by a Russian named Vlacheslav Bronnikov who teaches blind children how to see using their higher senses...............Not only blind folks, but anybody who is willing to learn through a series of exercises that activate both hemispheres of the brain...............Very interesting stuff and he now has a training video in English that gets you started..........Not cheap, but if you have the dough it might be worth checking out. The site is:www.bronnikovmethod.com

I got the video about a week ago.........There are 5 breathing exercises......One for each of the major organs..........Lungs, liver, kidneys, heart and pancreas......Master Lu stresses that each exercise should be practiced for 5 days before going on to the next...............Then they are all tied together in one flowing movement which takes about five minutes. The video is about 24 minutes, nothing fancy and although a bit pricey, definitely worth the money........Got a good vibe from Master Lu.................In just a week, I noticed that my breathing is slower and deeper......Two Tao's Up!!

Every year at this time, my own mortality is brought to the forefront with the celebrating of another birthday.........Since getting into spiritual studies and self development, the question of death and what it is, puzzles me..........................After reading numerous books, looking at different religious belief systems and having personal experiences(energetic phenomena and involuntary out-of-body experiences, I find the subject even more confusing.....................My intuiton tells me that even though the physical shell is temporary, the "real me" is immortal and does survive in some capacity.................One of the spiritual systems that I've studied,(Scientology and I am not a Scientologist) has clarified some confusions for me and that is we are "immortal awareness units" with the ability to create our own personal universes and experiences to get to play a game and that it's all really a game............We continue to "pick up" bodies or reincarnate and do it over and over and over again......Not just here but in other dimensions and energetic systems................................Not to be too morbid, but I recently read a quote by a Zen master whose name escapes me on what he thought birth and death was and he said(paraphasing)................"Being born is like getting on a ship..........and as the ship is leaving the dock to begin it's journey,......... it is sinking." Fellow Tao Bums, please share your theories and comments.

Earlier today I was going to post and had to leave and somehow the above got posted.......Sorry!.........Anyway, as far as all the different Chi kung systems go, I heard there are literally hundreds of styles from many lineages.........I've practiced Chia's system, presently do Zhan Zhuang(standing practice) and am looking into CFQ healing.....It can be confusing trying to evalute which one has the most benefits for an individual.........There are only so many hours in a day along with just living one's life and I think if you are looking into various forms, the order of the day is to "have fun"!

I was just on the web-site and it does look interesting.........It sounds a lot like "Brain Respiration" from the Dahn Hak group...........then again it might be something totally different......You can get it at the U S Pranic Healing site for $20 +S&H

I use the Pur 3 stage filter that attatches right to the faucet.........It eliminates most lead, chlorine and a variety of microscopic bacteria commonly found in tap water...........I find the filter lasts an average of 2 months for the price of $19.95 and it gives the water a good taste....................The only negative is that the filter doesn't filter flouride which happens to be in our city water and is a neurotoxin..............A good bottled water is Fiji water..........good taste and pricey.

"Don't give me that.....you snotty faced heap of parrot droppings........shut your festering gobutet.......Your type really makes me puke.....You vacuous, coffee nosed,...........malodorous pervert!!!" Monty Python " I am gross and perverted...I'm obsessed and deranged...........I have existed for years but very little has changed.........I'm the tool of the government and industry too......for I am destined to rule and regulate you........I may be vile and pernicious but you can't look away........I make you think I'm delicious with the stuff that I say.............I'm the best you can get,..........have you guessed me yet?.................I'm the slime oozing out of your tv set." Frank Zappa

I know there are various "chi" practices that are supposedly good for reducing hypertension........Does anyone know of one paritcular practice which is most effective at dropping blood pressure?........All success stories, advice and experiences welcome!

Thanks for all the valuable imput on a subject that affects millions and unfortunately undiagosed in a lot....................7 years ago when I had a physical for a job, the physician didn't like the diastolic(bottom) number...........I believe it was in the 90's and suggested I go on Atenolol which is a beta-blocker and functions to slow the heart down........Fortunately, there were no side effects and the number came down to the mid 80's.........Thaddeus: I read a book on Nitric oxide a few years ago and I believe it was called "The Arginine Solution"................I have since used L-Arginine and although I haven't seen a BP reduction, the "Viagra Effect" has been cool though.........................Karen: You mentioned "overbreathing". You weren't by any chance refering to the "Buteyko Method" for proper CO2 balance?..................I've heard good things about it, especially for people with asthma..............Well, thats about it for now and thanks again...........ToP-fan

Thanks folks for your imput and energetic knowledge which by the way will not be interpreted as "medical advice".................A book that I'm currently reading, "Energy Medicine in CFQ Healing" by Master Yap Soon-Yeong and Dr. Chok Hiew describe that when any stagnant or blocked energy is guided down and out of the body, "hundreds of diseases disappear".......So I guess that theory applies to many different styles of energetic work.
-
Thanks Thaddeus...........I understand your concern about the disposing of advice or medical info........I am just borderline hypertensive and am on 1 medication........I would eventually like to get off of the medication by lowering the BP through natural means..........diet, exercise, meditation etc. and was wondering if anybody had success lowering it through the chi kung route.

[quote name=ToP-fan' date='Apr 23 2006, 12:27 PM' post='13261] I bought Clyman's chi kung videos about 5 years ago......The quality was poor and it was all stuff I had seen before..................Speaking wih him on the phone, he didn't have a kind word for any of the mainstream teachers-Chia,Winn, Franztis(calling him "fat whale")......buyer beware

Hi, has anyone done "Hsin Tao" practice by Ratz iel Bander?.........The book, "The Miracle of Hsin Tao" has just been released in English and is available on the web..............It's not quite qigong and it's not quite yoga and the movements are supposed to be extremely healing............Any info would be greatly appreciated!
