It has a bunch of alleged health benefits. It's also recommended by former Tao Bum member Witch in her book: http://www.amazon.com/Orgasmic-Diet-Revolu...0662&sr=8-1 The book is primarily for women, but she has some relevant info for men as well. Most of which has been posted in the following threads: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=3389&hl= http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=3417&hl=

Hi Mantis, I am big on dark chocolate too. Are you on Marena's (a.k.a. Witch) diet by any chance? I was thinking about testing it as I believe it could speed up the body's jing production. The kicker is that it could also ramp up your sex drive and make retention more difficult. I am also considering going veg for a week or so before the cultivation meeting, but haven't decided yet. I am not a big eater of red meat as it stands.

That is kind of what I am affraid of. Anyone with a dissenting opinion will be marginalized. Sometimes a counterpoint can bring a healthy balance even if it's unpopular. -
Buddy, I know you want to believe bro.

This might sound weird, but I think maybe the key is just not to try so damn hard. Often I find my mind wandering down fantasy road. I just acknowledge the thought and let it go. Mal, do you do Kunlun everyday, and if so do you find it somehow gets your libido under control? http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=4317&hl=

Travellers and Magicians? Meetings with Remarkable Men? (Gurdjieff) Milarepa? Can you give anymore details?

I am on 4 weeks now. I do start getting sporadic sexual dreams aound 2-3 weeks in as well. Ironically this happened last night. There seems to be a catch though. The women I dream about are total turn offs. I am almost embrarassed to discuss this, but the dream I had last night was about a really ugly obese prostitue (trust me I would not make this stuff up, and if I did it would be Uma Thurman). I could not get into things and then in the dream my 5 yr old son walked into the room and I woke up shortly after. My guess is that my higher self is seing the reality of these illusions. The ugly harlot represents my sexual desires and my son purity and innocence. As for diet, here's my guess from a previous post I made: * I would also add to that list most of the stuff that Marena Lindberg recommends in her book The Orgasmic Diet: Oily Fish, Dark Chocolate etc... although I have a theory that this could speed up jing production which could be beneficial if you could tame the urges.

Hi Masterforge, It's nothing compared to others here, but I am trying to build up some energy for sifu Lin Aiwei's upcoming cultivation retreat in NY. Suprisingly the jing retention has been pretty easy, and I normally have a very healthy libido. I don't want to start beating the Kunlun drum, because other practices likely have similar effects, but you can refer to my post about it in these threads: http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=4317&hl= http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=4205&hl= Truth be told it gets easier for me the longer I go. It's a really good feeling to not let yourself be controlled by these lower impulses. I second that. His post should be required reading for new members. Well said Pietro. Brgds! -

Correction Brian: the talk was about panty liners and vaginal deodorant . After a month of Jing retention I took that one and ran with it. Seriously though man, I really do appreciate the cultural stuff you post. I think a lot of others do as well, but they just kind of take it in without commenting. It's sort of ironic that there's 7000 members of this forum, but the posts that often jump out at us are the ones where we feel slighted. There is usually a silent majority that we take for granted. As for the etymology thread you mention, I saw it coming. If you take a yang approach to topics people are sensitive about, you will usually get a yang reply. That having been said I don't think TB will ever become a strictly academic forum, although there are a lot of very knowledgeable posters. Just take the good with the bad and ugly. Brgds! -

Alright, I've been doin' some researchin': Vaginal deodorant From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia How to Control Vaginal Discharge (eHow.com) "Avoid using vaginal deodorant sprays. They can cause irritation." FPA Health: Sex Matters: Factsheets: The Vagina - Common Vaginal Conditions on the vagina: "It has a particular smell which is quite normal, and certainly isn't noticeable as long as you wash regularly ... A healthy vagina also has no need for a vaginal deodorant." [edit] Contents FDS Feminine Deodorant Spray warns that the product is flammable. Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaginal_deodorant" Flammable????? Be careful lighting the cigarette up after sex fellas! -
AWESOME VIDEO MUST WATCH! Documentary on Tummo!
Oolong Rabbit replied to mwight's topic in General Discussion
Yeah he's pretty amazing. I posted about Wim a few weeks ago asking if anyone knew what techniques he used. I guess it's tummo. The youtube clip is taken from an episode the Discovery Channel aired called the Real Super Humans: http://www.discoverychannel.ca/shows/showd...s.aspx?sid=4399 You can download the full episode with bit torrent. It was really cool. It also showed people whose senses were fused together and could taste and smell sounds/music. -

OMG Cat is channeling Ron Jeremy. The forum really has gone to hell lmao! P.S. What the hell does vaginal deodorant smell like? Everyday I understand you feminine beings less and less. I think this is in line with the Tao. -

I have bitten my tongue (or maybe typing finger ) quite a bit recently. I learned a long time ago that you cannot reason with unreasonable people. Everytime I have let myself get sucked into one of these mud slinging matches I have regreted it. Not because I can't hold my own, but because it really is a draining and consuming experience. It's fine to disagree, but we should not let our emotions cloud our thoughts, and we should always be respectful of our fellow posters. As far as Kunlun goes, I think it needs its own forum. Almost daily there seems to be a new thread popping up, and most of the questions have already been answered elsewhere. -
Any type of martial art will help make you more spacially aware. I would recommend something that combines martial art and meditation such as Tai chi, Bagua etc.... Then again, something like ballroom dancing would probably even help.

Haha cute.

I just watched this last night and I loved it. It's the first of 2 films portraying Milarepa's life (the 2nd part is due to be released in 2009 I believe). The first film focuses primarily on his early life and his studies in Tibetan sorcery. It was comparable to Travellers and Magicians, but much better. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499238/ You can view the trailer here: http://milarepamovie.com/drupal-5.1/?q=node/12 P.S. Has anyone seen the Chinese film "Eight Immortals"? http://www.amazon.com/Eight-Immortals-Chu-...g/dp/B000MGUZBQ

Hey Cat, I actually searched for an existing topic on movies/films, but the search feature sometimes fails to bring up threads. The DVD has not been released yet, and I am almost ashamed to say I downloaded the movie off bit torrent. It was not showed in my city, and I really wanted to see it. I am definitely going to buy the Dharma Edition of the DVD when it is released though. The proceeds from it are going to charitable causes dear to the director (a Tibetan Monk himself). Film really is a great way to reach the younger generation these days. Espeically since so few of them actually read anything. I was never on the Tibetan Buddhism bandwagon (too dogmatic for my tastes), but you have to admire the progressiveness of HH the Dalai Lama. BTW... are you an artist? Brgds

This looks really shady and pyramid schemish to me. I suspect his demo may work, but only because he is not setting up a proper control. For a proper conrol the other sliced fruit etc... should be surrounded by 4 normal glasses of non "charged" water. He even gives part of the secret away in the clip. The other lemon dries out and the acid is released making it taste much more sour. I suspect just having 4 glasses of normal water around the fruit may release enough moisture/humidity to keep it "fresh" longer than without.

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374546/ One of the best movies I have ever seen.

I bought some stuff from www.enjoyingtea.com but it was kind of pricey. The ebay link I posted above is direct from China, so you are cutting out the middle man. The prices pretty much blow everywhere else I have checked out of the water.

Sorry Dan Yeah, I have heard all kinds of confiscation horror stories like that. You know, I am sure with the body butter, a paperclip and a rubber band you could have built a death ray and taken over the plane. In fact, maybe they should just ban body butter to make the world a safer place. I digress. It's the international thing that worries me flying in from Canada. I just don't feel like arguing with the paranoid customs gestapo agents. Besides I like to travel light. Looking forward to meeting you brother!

Hi Mal, I am by no means an expert, so not sure if there's a decent technique to store used leaves for an extended period. Even if there is, it probably wouldn't be recommended. They take great pains to ensure that the tea is stored in a moisture free environment. It's pretty amazing how much this stuff can expand after a couple infusions though. For stronger teas I sometimes think the second infusion is better then the first which can be be slightly bitter. P.S. Make sure you store your tea buds in a different colored container than your other "buds". I would hate to see you have a mix up, although it might make for potent tea!

Sounds good Joel! I would bring some but I am a little leary that the customs people might think it's something else

Could also be Anxi Benshan Oolong: http://cgi.ebay.com/Gourmet-Benshan-Wulong...bayphotohosting I can easily get 3-4 infusions out of it. The Wuyi is also very nice. There's a not so subtle peachy aftertaste. More delicate than some of the other oolongs. P.S. I bought a bunch of tea from the Chinese company in the above link on ebay (somebody posted the link on TB a while back). Great prices, and he combined shipping for me.

The Taoist Tai Chi Society is affiliated with the Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism. Both were founded by Master Moy Lin Shin (taoist monk): http://www.taoist.org/content/standard.asp?name=FungLoyKok http://www.taoist.org/content/standard.asp...rnationalCentre There's also that Russian taoist Alex Anatole: https://maxvps001.maximumasp.com/v001u23zac...nter/Center.asp Don't know much about him or his practices but he seems like the real deal.
