  1. The dream thread

The cool thing I have noticed is that since beginning Kunlun I have been more in touch with my dreams. I am not saying that this is an affect of Kunlun per say, but likely just a natural side effect of meditation. Another thing is that I seem to be much more able to keep my umm desires in check. I have gone a few weeks without ejaculation and it doesn't seem to bother me much. Maybe I should say I have not been going as crazy as I normally would since I have a pretty healthy sex drive. In any event, last night I had a really intense dream. Basically something similar to the orgy scenes in Eyes Wide Shut, but the XXX rated version. I was about to take part and then it was as if my higher self (or whatever you want to call it) said "wait a minute, I know what's going on here and I am not going to indulge". I realized it was just a dream, and I was able to wake myself up. Ironically enough last night was the first night I had not practiced in weeks. The whole non-ejaculation thing is hard enough without dreams like that. It reminded me of Buddha's temptation by the daughters of Mara. I think Cam got hit with this too, and got sucked in.
  2. Kunlun Level 1

Kunlun martial arts. This one is awesome: This looks a bit like taichi/bagua/Xingi hybrid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDwF2XzV7HU...ted&search= Another variant:
  3. Coming to NY in Jan-Feb (already passed)

What are you doing at Harvard Hundun? I will see what I can do for tea but the customs guys might mistake it for drugs or something Joeblast, Hope to see you there. If Sifu Lin Aiwei is half as wise and patient in person as he is on this forum, then I am sure it will be a great experience. Sometimes I read or watch his work and I am blown away, yet he is always so humble about everything.
  4. Coming to NY in Jan-Feb (already passed)

I bought my plane tickets last night. I know that if I left it too long my mind would just start creating excuses on why I couldn't do it. I am really looking forward to meeting sifu Lin Aiwei, Hundun and any other TB's that attend. My flight lands at La Guardia Friday Feb 15th at 10:30am. .
  5. Kunlun Level 1

You mean I've been holding that posture the whole time for nothing . I think I need to read the book again.
  6. Kunlun Seminars

Hi Hundun, It's funny. Tonight at Tai Chi class we were discussing Master Moy Lin-shin, the founder of Taoist Tai Chi Society. Some of the folks who have been around for a while were talking about how he kind of "lured" his original cadre of students in. He began by promoting the martial aspects of his arts. That's what people "thought" that they wanted. Once they took the bait he began giving them something much more profound and worthwhile. I think the same applies here. People watch some of the sensational stuff thinking they want to stop punches in mid air and such. They begin the work, and it starts taking them down paths they never thought about. That's kind of what happened with me so far. If nothing else it got me meditating on a regular basis which is much more useful than stopping a punch with some mysterious empty force. How often have you guys even had someone walk up and take a swing at you out of the blue? Stilling the mind and spirit helps me everyday. Peace brother!
  7. Kunlun Level 1

I think you said before that right over left brings the energy down, and left over right brings the energy up. Is this correct? If so, would doing level 1 right hand up one session and left hand up next session be working against one another? Could you elaborate on this a little further? Would the effects etc... be different? Is one yin and one yang?
  8. Wim Hof

Anyone know what method this guy practices? Tummo? http://www.getoutdoors.com/goblog/index.ph...-In-Shorts.html http://www.innerfire.nl/en/index.php?module=techniek I just saw him run a sub zero half marathon in nothing but shorts and then heal his feet from frostbite. Aparently he has some sort of affinity for the cold. It also showed him meditating in a meat freezer. The program also had other people with interesting supernatural abilities. People who's sensory perceptions were linked, and could taste and see sounds/music. Pretty interesting. http://www.discoverychannel.ca/shows/showd...s.aspx?sid=4399
  9. Kunlun Level 1

Hmmmm are you sure it's a good idea to be doing level 2 already? I don't think you are following Max's guidelines.
  10. Question for Lama Dorje's students

Hahaha he is the guy selling the non-authorized Sifu Max DVD's. Mantra doesn't think too highly of him, and I think he and Max must have had a falling out. Not cool of him to be selling the DVD's without approval and profiting from it. It also sounds like maybe he is trying to cash in the buzz around Sifu Max.
  11. Bumble bee sound

A couple of points on this. I have some posts discussing the strange tingling sensation on the crown of my head. Experiencing that helps me understand the symbollism of the thousand petalled lotus. Also Sifu Max discusses the crown/skull physically opening and drops of amber liquid forming on the top of the head (cerebro-spinal fluid). He said if you taste it, it is sweet, and I think he may have even compared it to honey. I have never experienced this so I cannot say, but obviously another point of interest..
  12. The dream thread

Great stuff. In my opinion it doesn't matter whether it was "really" Max or your psyche/shen manifesting knowledge in a form that symbolizes wisdom to you. The dream helped communicate something to your conscious mind and your cultivation benefited from it. Cool site. I will explore it more in depth when I can make some time. I have the Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep on my shelf waiting to be read as well. Veecee, that dream means you are a terrible mother! Teasing of course . I would guess it has something to do with a fear of losing your daughter. If you wanted to delve into the collective unconscious (does anyone know if there is a taoist equivalent?), it's a little bit like the myth of Persephone: http://www.pantheon.org/articles/p/persephone.html
  13. Jing-Chi-Shen dynamics

Drew, I am not trying to be judgmental, but have you ever been diagnosed with schizophrenia? Your writing is very similar to that of someone I know with this disorder.
  14. an opinion of the Kunlun method

    Nothing... and everything.
  15. Bumble bee sound

I used to practice a technique to induce astral projection/OOBE years ago. On my more successful attempts I would hear a strange buzzing, followed by an INTENSE vibrating feeling like my body was shaking apart. The key was to try and hold a balance between concentration and total relaxation which was difficult at first. My guess is that the buzzing is being caused by elevating the vibration of your consciousness to your etheric/astral body. I was deliberatly aiming for this, but I can definitely see how one could slip into such a state during meditation. Any type of fear would instantly "shock" me back into normal waking consciousness. Fear is the mind-killer! P.S. I have honeybees and honeycomb tattooed on my shoulder. The bee symbolizes the soul, and the honey symbolizes wisdom/knowledge. I also think I read that one of the taoist monasteries has an initiation where you get stung by a honeybee.
  16. Your views about DAN TIAN!

This was Gurdjieff's view, which he allegedly learned of the Sarmoung Brotherhood. The teachings seem like a mix between taoism and sufism. Sounds about right to me. I don't think John Chang did anything much to create a Dantien for Kosta. Just told him that he needs X hours of meditation for it to be full. Sean and David's stuff seem to have similar views. I would say the main concern would center on energy leakage.
  17. an opinion of the Kunlun method

What about the heat burning away the blockages Yoda? Also the movements are very animated and fast paced. More on par with fire method than the slowness and stillness of the water method in my humble opinion. Even the beginning meditation seems to require active concentration/visualizations.
  18. an opinion of the Kunlun method

Kunlun is both fire and water. Level 1-2 = fire and level 3 = water. I would say fire method can be more dangerous, but the results come faster than water method. Vajrayana buddhism practioners say as much. I have a family, a demanding job etc... I need to make every minute of practice count, so that is what makes the fire method more appealing to me at this point in my life (although I still love my tai chi ).
  19. Mixing Practices

Hi Luke, For what it's worth, my experiences are very similar to yours. Some days very little movement. Others days lots, but mostly confined to lower body. Sometimes the upper arm fires as if a nerve is hit or something. Also sometimes I feel like I get an "energetic" push in my torso or spine.
  20. Root Lock - anus chi drain in yoga

Some days I have dark circles under my eyes and often still feel tired in the morning, but I think it's just from lack of sleep . What can one do to prevent leakage, or is it just a matter of trying to cultivate more energy faster than you lose it?
  21. Root Lock - anus chi drain in yoga

Okay this is too weird. I was in the middle of writing up a thread on energy leakage in light of SF Jane's posts (the tummo reiki and man love threads ) and watching one of Lin's videos. My tai chi instructor also said that tai chi is a series of pushing chi out and pulling chi in. Kind of expelling the toxic stuff and taking in the good energy. That having been said, how does one know when they are leaking energy and what can one do to help prevent it? Brgs
  22. weight loss=penis growth?

If I live the "now", then there are no dreams P.S. Are you really going to stop posting tonight at midnight Cam?
  23. weight loss=penis growth?

Sounds like she is drinking too much wonder wine from Cam's Styrofoam Kunlun Cup of Destiny. Does she have any studies to back this up?
  24. Thunder Path

Many people claim to want this, but how many would be willing to put in the time and effort necassary even if they did find it? What is your idea of the "average" person? P.S. Most say that the Magus of Java's path is Taoist.
  25. Kunlun Level 1

Not sure if this has been already been mentioned or even if it is in the book, but if you are having a hard time getting your feet going, try leaning forward slightly. Also lift the heels up really high as mentioned earlier.
