Nope. You?

As in "enthusiastic barber" versus "barber doing energy manipulation". Not all Indian barbers do energy manipulation whereas perhaps all Indian barbers are enthusiastic.
-
To get back on topic: Glad to see that you see this. I am a bit surprised that out of 2 pages you are the only one commenting about the energetics, which is, of course, the reason I posted this. Enthusiasm is one thing, energy manipulation is another.

OldChi has it right. SECAB&DE is a part of GOT II, although it can be learned by itself as a powerful qigong system. So it is a subsystem within GOT II. And then we have GOT III.

Thanks for such a personal and complete review. It was a pleasure having you at the workshop. Thank YOU for making such a great effort to attend. I do know how much effort these international travels take. Yes, these workshops do take a tremendous effort of many. The senior students are amazing in both their abilities and willingness to help.

Is Jesus legit in Taoist practice or no? Off topic derail from the JAJ Neigong book thread
Ya Mu replied to joeblast's topic in Daoist Discussion
Think I will consult the great Taoist Oracle - the Brothers of the DooBie - to find out once and for all the answer to this question. -
Another friendly reminder. It helps to actually study qigong and find out that Qi DOES NOT equal breath - breathing is a tool, a very good tool, and although air contains Qi, air is not the Qi itself. The spectrum of Qi goes far beyond air itself. Breathing does not equal qigong. With Qigong Walking, the goal is to get more ENERGY instead of less. Regular walking is great exercise, but it expends energy. Qigong Walking gathers energy instead of expending energy. There are many forms of qigong walking, and some of them do utilize breath control while some of them do not. Some of them go DIRECT to the energy; this is the form of Qigong Walking we do. It is not dependent on breath - at all - except to the extent that we all have to breath. Usually qigong walking is a subsystem of any particular system and the methods depend on learning the system, which is why you won't see many posting methods; one has to study the qigong system first. I am sure someone can post a method - but basic understanding instead of chasing methods goes a long way. I encourage everyone to learn qigong walking that is within the system their teacher teaches.

Do you actually wish to know or are you doing the classical CD thing of asking a question so you could pounce and say something like "Oh you are wrong, because in my native language....." then proceed to "educate" us?

What do you think the forum can do to attract some quality teachers?
Ya Mu replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
As you see in the above explanation, this was the site owners contemplation, not mine. I don't see anywhere in that contemplation that suggests any type of post requirements and certainly no ninja hit squads are mentioned. It would be a totally optional thing, as I understand what he is saying. -

"I thought this was a good idea when it was contemplated to create "an optional "inner" forum where, in order to gain access, members have to use and validate their real full name by sending a pic of a valid photo id along with a self pic while holding up a sign saying "the tao bums". Then people could actually be on a level playing field and get to know one another. Just like meeting in person." OOPS! Sorry. When I see it quoted here I see my fast typing didn't get the source listed. And in such, I do believe you are incorrect, in terms of the owner of the site, as these are his exact words. I really don't think Sean and Trunk have the same vision in this. So my revised post should read "I thought this was a good idea when it was contemplated by the site owner Sean "...to create "an optional "inner" forum where, in order to gain access, members have to use and validate their real full name by sending a pic of a valid photo id along with a self pic while holding up a sign saying "the tao bums"."" I was just agreeing with him in that, TOTALLY different than ppfs, it would be a place where everyone was on a true instead of pseudo level playing field. Which of course is one reason your OP is addressed by the above idea of the site owner as it would help to eliminate the many reasons as to why the board doesn't attract a lot of teachers as well as the reason several of the advanced practitioners who are already members don't contribute as much as some of us would like to see. And, I would suggest that your OP is a very viable one. Personally, I think the more advanced practitioners contribute to the better quality of conversation. And beginners who have valid questions are not told some type of complete misinformation bullshit that has potential to ruin their lives - as has happened many times, not only in this forum, but in the complete field of Taoist studies. Advanced practitioners can help insure that doesn't happen and I personally wish more of the advanced practitioners who are members would speak up when they see this sort of thing - I do realize that many in the past haven't because they knew they would be shouted down by the very few continuously rude people who know nothing of the practices - all to the detriment of the board as well as the people asking the questions. And the above idea would help eliminate that sort of thing as well as encourage brotherhood - really getting to know the person posting versus an anonymous person who could be anyone or no one. There would still be the anon forum, I assume, in his vision, so that opportunity would not change. -
This is a good point, as I think the majority of people walk around dehydrated. My first years in clinic were shocking to me to discover how little people hydrate themselves. And about vitamins & minerals, certainly there are cases out there where people have deficiency. Focused therapy could make dramatic differences for any particular person.

Hi ZT, Good points in your post. I do have a blog. You do have my permission, if you wish, to put the articles on my blog in a PPF. I don't come here to do a PPF but to answer questions or address comments that come up on the general board and participate however I can to help with information based on experience. I doubt if the larger percentage of members read the PPF - I haven't but a very few times and I have been on this board for quite a while. And occasionally - not often - I post a topic that I think will be interesting to the whole of the board. In other words, my posting habits are just like hundreds of other members. -
I have seen this sort of thing in clinic before but can't really give any advice except perhaps to practice one system only to see if there are changes and get physical/energetic therapy after investigating with a physician. If you have already investigated with a physician, have you thought of trying a medical qigong therapist? Or several Tui Na sessions?

I thought this was a good idea when it was contemplated to create "an optional "inner" forum where, in order to gain access, members have to use and validate their real full name by sending a pic of a valid photo id along with a self pic while holding up a sign saying "the tao bums". Then people could actually be on a level playing field and get to know one another. Just like meeting in person. -
On the contrary, there are many members of this forum who have actually studied many different forms of walking qigong. This is not something you read about - it is something you learn and do. You can't know without the doing. I highly advocate walking qigong and would wish everyone the chance to learn and practice it - so awesome!
-
One can look at it this way, as a question: Is it better to walk expending energy or increasing energy? Once that decision is made, then it is a simple matter of practice if the decision is to walk while gathering energy. Personally, I never not do qigong walking while walking - anywhere.

And if it is dealt with appropriately, and without bias, and deleted, it would probably go a long way to encourage the topic of this thread. I have never given up attempting to promote this website; if everyone would look at the big picture, the many thousands of people who cruise this site through searches would be much more likely to stop and stay awhile. Really simple, actually. If a person stops at a friend's friend's house and the friend's friend insults people who are in the conversation there, they are much more likely to not stay nor wish to come back. On the other hand, if everyone speaks face to face with a positive attitude, they are much more likely to come back to visit. -

Teachers come on here and see insulting shit like this allowed [ Dorian Black, on 08 Apr 2014 - 16:44, said: "Wow, Shifu Lomax' Chi Powers must be at the same level as this guy's... ...or maybe I should rather say that the suggestibility and delusion of his clients / "students" are at the same level as Yeung's!" - and leave without registering and never return. And teachers like Santiago and Mike Denny were a valuable asset to this community. I spent a great deal of time attempting to promote TTB to my peers and they laughed at me with the usual comment being that as long as insults are allowed they would have no part of it. And the thing is, out of 17,000 plus members there are only a very few bad apples that have been allowed (consistently) to do this. Most of the posters here, and I have met quite a few of them, are extremely nice people. Personally, I am hoping that this becomes a thing of the past and more serious practitioners will participate; this site has the potential to be a really awesome info site and source of Taoist & Buddhist teachings. An equal playing field, yes I am all for it and have always been. A biased playing field? Not for that at all. Allowing posts such as I posted above where over 50 members of this forum were directly insulted, is not something that will encourage serious practitioners. -
Charles - so good you had the opportunity to go to China. I haven't read the whole thread, but did you learn qigong? I do hope you realize that others have also researched devices to simulate qi emission. I remember speaking with Richard (can't remember his last name) an engineer who did extensive research into this. This may or may not be his company but is one of the devices that utilizes an infrasonic component of qi: from http://www.soundvitality.com/About_CHI-Institute.asp "Infratonic Solutions CHI Institute The Infratonic Solutions CHI Institute has been investigating the nature of human vitality since 1986. In the process, we've learned a lot about how pain is stored in the body, and how it can be released effectively and comfortably. The Infratonic Solutions Infratonic Inc. developed its first therapeutic stochastic resonance treatment massage device in 1988. Based on research that measured the low-level energy emissions from the hands of qigong healers in Beijing, China, the original Infratonic device simulated those human emissions and resulted in effective natural pain relief and accelerated recoveries in many early patients. Testing in hospitals and research labs later found that low-frequency sound was indeed effective at increasing vitality, accelerating healing and strengthening the immune function." Here is another one: http://qigongmachine.com/ "We are the manufacturer, the patent and trademark owner. The resercher and inventor of Qi Gong Machine, Dr. Simon Wang, M.D., Ph.D. After medical training in China (M.D.), he continued to complete his Master degree in acupuncture and Ph.D.degree in neuroendocrinology and post-doctoral work from the West. He studied and conducted medical research in Melbourne, Australia, Boston, Massachusetts and Los Angeles, California, USA and China. He has published numerous scientific papers on neuroscience and books. Dr. Simon Wang and his team have been searching and working on scientifical base for Qi Gong and other eastern healing arts." While I am sure these devices can make a difference there is a big problem in engineering the full component of qi due to many factors. One factor is that no one really knows the full extent of components. While the above were based on the infrasonic component that was measured from the output of a qigong master's hands in an acoustic lab, I do know there are standing magnetic waves set up from qi projection in my own participating experiments and I suspect there are infrasonic all the way past upper gigahertz components as well. And, even if we did arrive at the point where these components were isolated fully and specifically measured, what about the thread that weaves the qi, intent or the human factor? How in the world are we going to have a machine that can set intent and process interactively with a feedback loop? Wow, you sure have your work cut out for you! I have for the last 30 something years said that one day we would have a much better scientific understanding of the components of qi and have wondered if I would still be around when we do. Although I would be glad to participate in experiments, and have a curiosity due to my EE background, I am more interesting in helping others learn to project Qi for healing, because it works NOW. I think we need a whole new understanding of the human energetics interaction in order to progress further scientifically, as in a whole new field of study beyond magnetic field theory, beyond brain study, beyond neurology, beyond quantum mechanics, beyond anything we now have; a completely new field of study that has not yet been "discovered".

Yeah, sometimes its like walking through water or thick molasses . I wrote the song Sea of Light (dirty jam room recording now available to anyone for free by asking) to honor this. You will never be given more than you can handle.

Read the thread I linked to above to get understanding. Start is studying and practicing a system. "..practice is required. Depending on the reading of a book without the practice gets one nowhere besides to confusion land."
-
Good points. But you are speaking in terms of attaining the higher level within a system and I am speaking in terms of vibratory states. Without exposure to these it would be very difficult to understand what they are so any perception of what they are is meaningless until one has been exposed to them. Some systems really are "higher level", are traditionally taught that way, due to the vibrations they start with and my point was that this doesn't have anything to do with marketing and everything to do with what they are. All qigong is not equal. Never has been.

Elderberry is amazing. We grow our own and make elderberry syrup. It also taste good.
