How do you handle other's intertia
Ya Mu replied to Harmonious Emptiness's topic in General Discussion
As we practice Gift of Tao and start our shifting we will notice the differences in energetics. By simply being yourself you will effect others in a positive manner. So you don't have to do anything. Kinda like magnetic induction. If someone is putting off energetics that you find offensive, by simply shielding yourself you will find that it effects you much less. What the shield is really doing is not "bouncing the negative energetics off" but eventually transmuting these energetics born of negative filters into natural non-filtered energetics. Eventually this turns into transmutation of lower level energetics into higher level vibrations. Although there are those who think we should simply embrace these lower level energetics because of accepting others "as they are", these people are not seeing the person for who they really are instead of what negative aspects of humanity has made them through our dumbed-down education process of learning greed, linear thinking, competition, etc. After we learn to shift and raise our vibrational frequencies we see the people for who they really are and who they really are is NOT anything to do with all of the negative filters that have been instilled in them since birth. It is the filters that we burn through with our proximity - not anything to do with a linear view of "accepting a person as they are". In fact, that is exactly what we are doing - accepting people as they really are! And we do this by the act of dancing in the wu wei and not doing but being. -
Cool! I find it interesting that there is so much energetics here on Hilton Head versus further north in North Carolina, which is certainly beautiful on the coast but doesn't even compare with the energetics at Hilton Head. Hopefully kempomaster will chime in on this with his experiences there as well. For a look at qigong on this beach, I now have a flyer up that has background pics of Gift of the Tao done on the very beach we will be on. Hilton Head Island Neigong Workshop Flyer

Stillness Movement Neigong and Michael Lomax's 'Light Warrior's Guide' Book

It is nothing to be concerned with; if it is meant to happen it will. And usually does. Check out, if you haven't already, what is said about this in rainbowvein's personal practice log. Hi Aaron, The "closedown" is always a great thing to do. Yes, I do suggest that it is a good thing to do before sleep. When we develop the ability to hold awareness like this without sacrificing our awareness focused on what we are doing, then yes, it is a grand thing. But if the awareness of the particular task of what we are physically doing is sacrificed, then no. It takes a bit of time to develop these 2 awareness attentions. Once we do we are doing qigong 24/7. Doesn't mean that we should stop our dedicated sitting/movement practices. -
I will be driving; takes me 2 days. Your gonna love the energetics there. Both Kempomaster & I have observed the Qi there to be extremely vibrant. Ever since I checked it out a few years ago I've wanted to do a workshop there and kempomaster has been nudging me to do one there for a couple of years now. And our venue room overlooks the ocean.

The difference between shaking medicine and stillness movement
Ya Mu replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
Best stick to one practice that you like after trying them out. Best to choose practices based on efficiency. Best to not have any preconceived idea of what Stillness-Movement is before learning it, as it will be different than what you conceive. "I wasn't aware that stillness movement incorporated shaking occasionally." It doesn't incorporate shaking at all. SOMETIMES the body shakes itself but most often that is not the case. Mostly we move in energy patterns. It is NOT a "shaking" practice. It is different. My suggestion is, if you do wish to learn Stillness-Movement, immediately begin the Gift of the Tao movements. These are energy patterns as seen in Stillness-Movement and will get you used to the energetics of the system. -
The difference between shaking medicine and stillness movement
Ya Mu replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
ulises, Stillness-Movement and shaking are so far apart the only real similarities are that both could be considered a qi gongfu as they both have qi movement. The underlying vibrationals are completely different (Stillness-Movement practitioners seldom just shake) and one would have to actually practice Stillness-Movement for a time [this time does differ from person to person] to understand this. The systems are also completely different as Stillness-Movement contains the UNIQUE hospital/clinical methodology of medical qigong. I have no problem with shaking practices and by all means if a person wishes to do them they should, as they most probably are quite good. I have seen and practiced a number of them and do believe they have merit. You have an opinion based on pure conjecture. You have already heard from folks here who have practiced both who say it is different, why do you not believe them. -

Jing Dong Gong is Stillness-Movement Gongfu. Since I teach in the West, mostly, I seldom use the Chinese name but instead the translation. I do this with most of the terminology. Stillness-Movement is a neigong system from China. The vibrational levels achieved with the system allow one to be able to do wai qi liao fa. There are many medical techniques within the system which have been/are utilized in hospitals and clinics around the world. A truly amazing and unique system. -

Definitely multi cultural. Bringing international energetics together - cool! A person from Brazil living in Norway said they were attending. -

We now have Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, UK, US, and Romania represented in attending the workshop. Some may find this interesting. The song, Sea of Light, that was released on both the Taoist Medicine and Gift of the Tao II DVDs, is one of my songs recorded as a collaboration between Jukka and I. In addition to being our host for this workshop, Jukka is a top 20 recording and performing artist in Finland. -

I was thinking more the intent behind the particular position development. At any rate I don't do these anymore except for demonstration because I found they have far less efficiency than spending the equivalent time doing either Stillness-Movement or Gift of Tao; both of these stimulate the root center and nurture the foundation in a very efficient manner. -

HA HA, no worries. Stillness-Movement is a unique neigong system brought from China that is geared at raising a person's energy body vibration and contains medical qigong, as practiced in the hospitals of China, as an inherent aspect. The movement associated with Stillness-Movement is not something that one induces but rather the energy induces. The book is less than $10 on amazon.com as an ebook - it sold out of print quite some time ago after shipping to most countries of the world. You might be interested in adding rebounding to your workout. I suggest this to everyone I meet. -

You should do whatever you feel you want to do. My suggestion was based on the path of the healer which I understood was something you want to do. If I am not misreading you, and I apologize if I am, it appears your reservations on nursing have something to do with being a male nurse in a field where it used to be the majority were women. While I have no idea what the ratio of men/women in nursing is today, rest assured that it is not looked upon as a "female only" profession. If nursing does interest you, PM user indyjim. HE is a registered nurse AND a medical qigong healer and I think would be glad to share with you about the subject. I have met several people with advanced degrees in psychology who couldn't find employment in their field of study. I have never met a person with a basic BS degree in nursing who couldn't get a well-paying job. Those with masters degrees and nurse practitioner degrees have extremely good saleries. And yes, one can jump right in to a medical qigong training program. There were two people who graduated from my program at our last workshop. The program takes around 3 years with mostly weekend training. Hope you find whatever you feel is best for you! -

I thought I replied to this but I hit the button and walked away and do not see the reply. I teach 8 or 9 of these but certainly do not put much emphasis on them. I think for the most part it should be no problem. Depends on what the intent is/was/will be behind them. Many simply allow energy channel flow and we do this already with Stillness-Movement in a very efficient manner. It is just rumor at this point and not a done deal. -
Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong

Actually, I did answer your questions. Just not the answers you wanted to hear. Your question was asking me can I tell you where I would have displaced this poisonous energy in your position. My answer was: "Sick qi is very real. Manipulating Qi, for use privately or in a clinic and hospital setting, requires learning how to deal with this. I suggest enrolling in a medical qigong program. We learn to transmute this sick qi to Light, other systems do it differently. The ability to do this transmutation requires much time&effort study." Let me phrase it in other words: It takes time & effort & specific training to learn how to "displace" this sick qi and in your position I would not have attempted to do something I was not trained to do. Now, if you are asking how I would have done the healing, I would not have just displaced the sick qi but used hospital based medical qigong techniques for the specific problem. These techniques are many and do require study and are impossible to explain on a forum how to do. Now, how is that not answering your question? That IS how we do it. You seem to not like that I suggested you actually study medical qigong but anything worthwhile requires study. -

Many who go to university do not end up in their major as a career choice. You are really saying so many things/ Do you wish to be a healer? Or not? If you do, nursing is a great choice, at least here in the US as it is usually easy to get a job with so many different applications (hospital, clinic, sales, etc.) AND gives one the opportunity to work their own special hours, say, weekend only. If you REALLY wish to do healing I would say, join a nursing program, get your prerequisite hours in while at the same time getting massage therapy certification while at the same time getting hours for medical qigong certification in over the years as you are finishing your nursing degree. Doing it this way would give you an almost immediate entry into the field of healing others and an ability to make money while you are finishing up the degree. Then you would have the opportunity to go into business full time for yourself while at the same time make money in a job if the business didn't work or if you lost interest in the business. -

Good point! A little birdie is whispering in my ear that a workshop may pop up at Hilton Head Island in November. Hang in there. Some days are better than others. Try to not lose sight of the practice. When we practice Stillness-Movement and Gift of the Tao we know things. When we don't practice, not only do we forget what we know but we forget that we knew. -
Rope to Heaven is a great move, glad you like it. These movements are all highly energetic. Yes, in front of forehead. Left palm is at 45 degrees.

Don't really have any views on this. Some things just are. We are referring to vibrational levels. Really nothing to be concerned with - just do. You could look at it like this: Keep on dynamically and never stagnate as we live in a dynamic and not static universe. In other words, never think you have reached your full potential. When I see all the threads on "enlightenment" and especially those who feel they are "enlightened" I usually have a good belly laugh. -

And you have only been at this one year. Simply stupendously awesomely amazing. I put the bold above to emphasize this fact. To visibly shrink an arthritic inflammation like this in real time (just 30 seconds or so) requires much "ooomph" - which you now have - in only a year of practice. -

We work on physical, mental, and spiritual; the whole of a person - no separation. "...so I was wondering if Stillness Movement heals on this Shamanic level as I would one day like to learn to heal with that sort of power and it sounds like these things are dealt with indirectly in the general course of Qi projection treatment." It works on ALL levels. Here is your opportunity in Billnas, Finland. -
