Hi Ron, Can you email me please? For some reason the PM is not showing up. I do have an answer for you.

Deep questions and one of them more difficult to answer with an absolute answer. The one that is absolute is that yes, one cannot practice this until they learn it and they can't learn it until they practice it. It produced a conundrum that I spent years trying to get around. The learning method I utilize on the DVD's is the same one I use in the workshops and I do believe it is the best approach to getting past the conundrum. The answer to your 2nd question is much deeper. Notice that this is published as INTRODUCTION to Taoist Medicine. Also note that I spent 12 years as an apprentice learning this system. As an introduction I do believe it does quite well. Of course if one wishes to take the study of this much deeper they should consider joining my certification program. This doesn't mean that one could not have some success using the method from the DVD. The near 100% results most achieve with this technique would come only with the complete study which is impossible to separate from the Stillness-Movement system. I do include with the 2-DVD set (making it 3 DVD's total) the Gift of the Tao: Vibratory Acts of Power so people can get started raising their vibration rate. A further note: This method is absolutely only meant to be used where and by those who have legal standing to use it.

How do I prepare for the utlimate transformation (death)
Ya Mu replied to spiraltao's topic in General Discussion
"How do I prepare for the utlimate transformation (death)" In medical qigong there is a method for helping people in the dying process. Personal preparation can involve the simple raising of the energy body vibration to a certain point, then just stepping out of the body when it is time. The sequential method can help with this, the full system completes it. I have only died twice this lifetime so I don't have much personal experience, but have worked with numerous folks with the clinical qigong method. Best preparation for someone not willing to learn and practice the internal alchemy? I would say it is a simple conclusion; achieve peace in your life and die with a smile. -
I have never seen it happen with proper methods. Yes, proper methods = less colds/flu. Most probably? What he was doing had nothing to do with getting sore throat. IMO good advice!

I took a class with Professor Wang Jin-Huai in the early 90's and Andrew was assisting him. Wang Jin-Huai's medicine form, to me, surely fit the definition of "Classical" instead of what is known as TCM (pre-dated what is generally taught now). He was also known as a great researcher, and said he had spent a large amount of time researching the origins of Chinese medicine. He had come to the conclusion that there once were two main systems of Chinese medicine and there were two main books describing these systems. According to him one of the books got lost and he said that, even though he spent years trying to find word of it or someone who had learned it and would teach it, he could not. This is also what my Taoist medicine teacher said, with one exception; the book did materialize and stayed in one family - this is what I teach, simply called Taoist Medicine. I think all of these (pre-modern day teachings) different forms of Chinese medicine should, with due diligence and enthusiasm, be preserved through the dedication of those willing to learn as they represent an awesome accumulation of knowledge. Some of these systems/techniques are extremely effective yet are known by only a handful of people.

Yes, the letters TCM does get thrown around a lot. My understanding is that today, it mostly means the Traditional Chinese Medicine as taught in China today. I think what you are referring to may fall more under what I understand as "Classical Chinese Medicine", which often goes far beyond the watered-down TCM as taught today. I teach a therapeutic form called Taoist Medicine which has nothing whatsoever to do with TCM. There are very few pure Taoist forms. Yes, the Taoists did contribute to TCM, but certainly not exclusively. And today's TCM is but a shadow - one has to look deep at the "Classical Chinese Medicine" to find many of the answers. edit: Osalina. Your expertise is welcome! Don't let a single posting experience get you down. There are some good people here as well as the ones who only have 1/1000 of the training you have. There are even those who have never practiced any of the Taoist arts but read about it and think they understand the meanings and who will tell you everything about it. Such is humanity, eh? But the board population as a whole has outstanding practitioners in the membership; I have met some of them and they are just great people, so please hang around.

Ouch! Gotta hurt. Hope you are feeling better soon. If you want, you can do a variation of the Sequential move while lying down. Email me for details if you wish to do this.

Nice! I have the book; purchased it a long time ago. Forgot I had it until I saw this thread LOL.

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Hi surfingbuddha, Don't downplay the significance of helping someone with a shoulder injury and your success in eliminating the pain. People spend millions on this type of problem and sometimes have no results. It can be very debilitating. Keep up the good work! The Taoist Medicine Introduction DVD is close, I put 20 hours in towards it yesterday and today. So is Gift of the Tao II movement neigong - actually hope to finish it this week. The movements should be worked on before the distance class. Thanks for your interest. -
Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Hi, Your practice will get you to this point. Still the mind and awareness on the energetics. Best to attend a class. There were folks from UK at the last workshop and folks from Europe attending the one in June. If that isn't an option I am hoping to do a distance class in January 2013; hands-on will always be best. These are your only options for receiving "lighting of the fire" and the awakening energetics. I am currently working on the Taoist Medicine DVD course and have started filming for the Medical Qigong one. No idea when these will manifest but Taoist Medicine hopefully will be ready this summer. Kempomaster is doing distant healing, is very good at it, and if you need that I encourage you to contact him. -
If you want to learn medical qigong I would suggest looking at NQA's website, www.nqa.org, for Level IV Teacher listings, find a program, and enroll. No amount of reading books is going to get you to the level you can achieve by actually studying it. If you are more interested in martial arts I suggest Hsing I, but there are many MAs out there. What I have found is that, for the most part, MA understanding of energetics differs from medical qigong understanding of energetics, as it is 2 different applications. Of course this depends on what a person has studied. Length of practice? The rest of your life. It is a lifetime practice. Length of program? My medical qigong program can be completed in as little as 3 years.

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Yes, you have progressed quite a bit in the last 6 months. I encourage you to now increase the amount of medical qigong you do on others; you are more than capable. This will help expand your energy body. Good job in your practice! Keep it up! Come on out and join us for the workshop June 23,24,25 at Dr Shealy's if you can make it; if not see you next time I am in Indiana. -
The above you posted is certainly cheaper CEU's than the underwater basketweaving massage online courses, so if you need ceu's I don't think you will find a better bargain. I used to offer ceu's to massage therapists but kept getting people who really had no interest in the material so I quit offering them. Since you are still in school are you sure you can use them? In the state I live in one has to take the ceu's in the same time period as the renewal. I know it does differ from state to state. You might try looking at the teachers listed in the level iv teachers of the NQA, www.nqa.org; possibly they list on their websites about ceu's for massage therapy. Also check ncbtmb website for approved providers.

You bring up a good point about this subject that is ignored by those who read but don't do actual Taoist inner practices. We can and do bring calmness to the animals that we interact with. Repeatable. Definite. No questions about it. If everyone practiced these practices there would be no need for having fear of a little or big dog. I just worked on a 2,000 lb horse who could not stand up. He was fretting and in great pain. He now is grazing in the pasture and is calm as the breeze.
-
What is your proposed solution? How exactly do we rid the world of every single dog that just may one day bite someone? And shouldn't any such solution be a compassionate one?
-
I was sitting on the ground doing Stillness-Movement and a client pulls up and and her "dog" gets out. It was a wolf and it immediately came up to me, licked me, and sat down beside me. She said "Damn, I have never seen him do that before. Sorry, I didn't mean for him to get out." She had no compassion whatsoever letting that mean thing lick me.
-
No compassionate person would own a Great Pyrenees. They are far too large and dangerous of a dog. I saw one of mine beat up a mountain lion and chase him out of the pasture. I have 3 of them so I guess I am 2 times less compassionate than you. Pit Bull Blues - A true Story I was out running and had just reached somewhere around 3 miles. I was a bit winded as I had just sprinted. All of a sudden this vicious pit bull comes out of a yard and takes in after me, ready to tear me limb from limb. "Feets don't fail me now" was one of the things rolling through my head as I resumed a sprint. Didn't want to fall victim to a mauling. I ran faster and the vicious bastard after me ran faster. Finally, after giving it the best try I could, I could run no more and knew I had to stop. Damn, the end is nigh. Oh dark night! So I turned around and ran toward this creature of darkness. Determined to sell my life dearly. What happened, you may ask? The scoundrel saw me turn around and come for him so he turned around and started running from me. I chased him until his tongue was hanging out. Another true wild dog from the woods story: The Shen Go

Certainly that IS a bit odd. No explaining why people do what they do. They read something out of a book and form opinions that they totally believe are true when the opinion is based on nothing but air. Some of these practices are harmful but you will see many argue and stick with it through their mental beliefs that it is something that is good - when it is not. Best to not attempt to help them unless they are willing to help themselves.

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
It was a grand pleasure having you there at the workshop. Thanks for putting so much effort into making it happen; I do know it is not easy to travel so far for a weekend event. I do think everyone that attended is going to get tremendous benefit. -
"...but I don't hear a lot of reference to what it is which harmonises them and unifies the forces." This is one of the things inner alchemy does. One of the first stages is becoming the manifestation of yin & yang so that we are more than the single thing. This is why neigong practices use both Heaven & Earth. Pull them in and transmute to one energy that is neither yin nor yang. In our system, when we project qi, wai qi liao fa, it is neither yin nor yang but a transmuted creative force of energy. Dan Tian is "place where transmutation occurs" (field of elixer).

Depends. Yes sometimes no other times. Can be a process. A person has to be willing to stop the practices that are screwing them up. I have found many are unwilling to do so.
-
Ha HA. You can't do qigong while watching movies. The mind leads the qi, so this is not possible?(not) Well, it is possible due to our ability to separate the mental and the qi with two attentions. I do think if one is strictly using mental based practices this would be more difficult as either the movie watching or the qigong would suffer. I have been practicing movie qigong for a very long time. Quite enjoyable. Makes movies more dynamic and good long qigong session. VERY powerful once one gains control of the mental so as to separate the attentions.

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Andrew, Don, Lewis & Brian, You were each a joy to have in the workshop. This is an amazing system where the people who practice achieve optimization of internal energetics and their energy body, as well as ability to help others utilizing internal/external energetics. I highly encourage you to set aside time each day for the practice. Attempt to balance out the internal Stillness-Movement sitting and standing with the Gift of the Tao movements. Remember that in all systems some days are better than others; always has been and always will be. Someone at the workshop instantly healed their dog when they got home. I wish they would share that here, simply amazing. Our next workshop in June is at Dr Shealy's Holos Institutes. In addition to him being a famous neurologist and pioneer in energy medicine, he has built a unique structure in the Chapel where we will have the workshop. The building there is simply amazing with its timber frame construction with emphasis on energetics and with all the spiritual artifacts from most every spiritual tradition of the world.
