Yes, just register on the website. Room for a friend as well. As snowmonki says, no prep needed. Wouldn't hurt to start practicing the movements from the DVD. We WILL be doing them.
  2. Michael Lomax

The thing is my descriptions barely scratch the surface of the experience itself. Everything becomes self-evident from the practice.
  3. REBOUNDING

Yikes - I answer last night hit enter and walked away from the computer but it didn't post. An Internal, External & Energetics Program for Health & Awareness This is a blog post I wrote that covers this. Basically, if one does 20 minutes twice a day of simple "health bounce", referring to just clearing the surface and not a large high jump, they should be able to self-observe the benefit. As with any exercise one needs to observe the proper cautions and contact their physician for guidance as to whether this exercise is appropriate for them. As with any exercise one should start slowly and build up to more time, in some instances this may be a minute or less initially. They also have a stabilization bar for those that need it.
  4. Michael Lomax

rodgerj gave you a darn good condensed view of what it is and snowmonki elucidated on this quite well. The thing is, it really is very difficult to talk about. How does one truly explain a non-linear method, as all explanations are linear? The truth is we can't, we can only approach, doing the best we can with limited brain oriented linear vocabulary. But I will try to deepen this to some extent with words. Health, awareness, and the ability to help others - this is why one should practice these methods. Now please understand that, although this system is very powerful in development of the ability to manipulate energy for medical purposes of healing others, there are thousands that practice it for the health and awareness aspect. Snomonki gave a very good description of the "top down" process, although I myself seldom talk of it this way. First, the difference in neigong and qigong. It appears that most people do not really understand this. You can look at it as qigong being an umbrella term covering all the qi oriented exercises. Stillness-Movement Neigong is internal and involves the process of first creating a dan tian, translated usually as "field of elixer" then filling it with Light. I translate it more as "place where energy storage and transmutation occurs". Note also that the dan tian is at our center of being. The Teacher works with each student to give them a "spark" or initialization of the dan tian of Lineage oriented Heavenly vibrations. The student then goes home and works with this on his own. As they do the energy there gets denser and denser, glowing brighter and brighter. SEERS see this as once the energy gets to a specific density and vibration, it rises up through the body opening each energy center in a natural non-traumatic and safe manner. Note this differs significantly from any type of forced method. Once the energy does that, and as snowmonki said, it pops out of the top of the head and connects us with Tao (source, Heaven, any number of words utilized in different explanations). When we reach this point we then learn to "dance in the Wu Wei". I call this process "Listening". Actually this "Listening" starts much sooner, as the energy begins bulding in the Dan Tian, but it manifests strongly after the energetics open all the centers and pops out the top of the head. What does this mean practically? Enhancement of intuition would be one phrase to decribe what I am refering to. Synchronicity would be another word. Actually there are many other words as this process is so potent, I don't think I can list all the words to describe it. The other aspect of this. A person has a specific level of awareness when they begin the practice. A level of energy body vibration. I work with each student at the level they are when they walk into the workshop. And the same thing when one begins practicing the movements from the DVD. We then, raise the energy body vibration frequency which in turn raises one's vibration closer to "heavenly vibrations" This is ALSO an important aspect of what I referred to earlier as "dancing in the wu wei". This ALSO is an important aspect of the awareness factor. This ALSO is an important aspect of the "Listening" process. I talk more and demonstrate more of this process in my next book due this summer. As opposed to conventional qigong methods which are more geared at circulation of the energy, in internal Stillness-Movement Neigong the circulation process is automatic, and non forced, while all the other things I described above happen. In fact, the whole process is automatic. One does not need to concern themselves with anything I just wrote. The Gift of the Tao Movements are indeed neigong. They were derived from the practice of Stillness-Movement and are energy patterns as seen in the higher vibratory levels. An ideal combination is the practice of both Gift of the Tao and Stillness-Movement, although one can reach a very good level doing either, as the Gift of Tao are reflections of the Stillness-Movement practice. Unlike simple qigong which is linear oriented, these movements are essentially non-linear in that if one just observes them, they can have no idea of what the practice actually does. This method has another aspect which is actually far more important than anything I have mentioned so far. The method awakens a person to who they really are, that true "inner core", the Higher Level self. THIS is the true "immortality" spoken of in Taoist practices. It helps a person find and fulfill their Destiny. Destiny referring not to something that just happens to you or you are forced to follow but as that which the true real you has already decided they needed to learn or work with in this lifetime. The other side of the coin is that the medical practices derived from the practice are High Level healing as they are designed to help a person find and fulfill their Destiny. The health aspect. When I first began doing Taoist qigong I could barely walk, bent over, arms not being able to extend beyond a bent at elbow 90 degrees, intense debilitating back pain, not being able to grasp anything with my hands, intense migraines, unable to chew food, and probably other things which I choose to forget. All from car wrecks (broke jaws in 17 places), falls (broke both arms and wrists at same time) and other injuries (2nd car wreck, more back trauma, other injuries). There is no doubt whatsoever that these practices were responsible in helping my recovery. I have had many students of this system express to me how it helped then recover from many different dis-ease situations. Most people who practice have less colds, less subject to falling ill to virus, miss less sick days, if they do get sick they recover faster, etc. It does NOT mean that practitioners never get sick as ANYONE can. The "ability to help others" aspect of the practice. A person does not have to be a healer for the practice to help others. As we raise the energy body vibration frequency, when we interact with others, there is a "magnetic induction" effect. we actually assist the other person in awareness enhancement, to a point. So the practice can not only raise the vibration frequency of you but of the whole area in which one practices. An example of this is I moved from one location to another about 7 years ago. Students tell me they drive by where I used to live and see as well as feel the energy still there. So we are helping others no matter what walk of life we do. After writing all this I am not sure I actually in essence said much more than rogerj and snowmonki did. But I hope it is helpful to you. You can find out all this on your own by attending my next workshop in Terre Haute, Indiana March 26,27, and optional 28, then practicing what you learn.
  5. I am not clear if you are referring to the same thing as we are. I am not speaking of you changing your internal practice, I am talking about you seeing a personal healer/therapist that does wai chi liao fa, healing with external energy. Actually 3-6 sessions should take away ALL your pain or at least the majority of it. Are we speaking about the same thing? Surely there are some reputable ones around near you (or at least I would have thought so) that have a clinic. But hey, Mo is only a small jump or two away - you could come see how us hillbillies live.
  6. REBOUNDING

Some of the same benefits but not all. There is a whole lot to be said for that soft-bounce surface; much easier on the body joints.
  7. Absolutely. I am curious, blasto, have you considered this? IMO very much better than synthetic drugs and works quicker.

Thanks for your input Kempomaster. I would like to point out to others that the results referred to by kempomaster are typical results of medical qigong practitioners trained in this system. We all have those type of results. So for anyone who is a physician (MD, DO, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Naturopathic, Homeopathic), therapist, or healer, or anyone who desires to be I encourage you to read up on medical qigong/clinical qigong/qigong healing and learn it. If you don't like my program there are several in the USA. I can even recommend at least one other if anyone PM's me. But I highly suggest looking into it. I know of nothing else in the medical field that gives these type of results. I firmly believe this is "Futures Medicine".
  9. REBOUNDING

I love rebounding. It is part of my everyday training. I have been using them for somewhere around 25 years and have always talked about them to my clients in clinic. I have seen amazing results with others utilizing rebounders. Are you familiar with the Nasa study which was done a long time ago? The studies determined an efficiency rate far higher than running. Lots of talk out there (which I agree with) about rebounding stimulating the immune system. I do sell the Needak, which is the only USA made soft-bounce surface rebounder. Costs more than the Asian ones. I went through 12 or more of the Asian ones before I purchased a Needak at retail. I was so impressed that I bought the company(ha ha - joke) became a dealer for them. All Needak dealers have to sell at the exact same minimum price. See my blog post here

Terrible that they don't have the kindle software fixed to work with that. Do you happen to have an Android device (phone or e-reader)? The kindle app looks great on these. I have a nook color that I bought specifically to develop my new book on, and also for other android color devices. With the nook color I can embed web links to video's (hoping for a software to link internal video) and the pics look fantastic. The same file looks good on kindle too. I think, though, A Light Warrior's Guide has black and white images with a few color images added for the ebook. For reading, IMO the kindle is still tops. It is easy on the eyes and there are so may free ebooks (all the classics) as well as ability to instantly get most any book you want.

You just HAD to throw that last little bit of negativity out there didn't you. Trying to throw out a question of whether I am legit or not. Pretty lame. I wish TTB'ers could learn how to speak to each other without this type of negativity and passive aggressive behavior.
  12. Michael Lomax

This did sound more honest than your other responses. Misinformed, but honest. I knew exactly what you were going to say and here is the response I wrote last night. For clarification I have this to say about the DVD. These moves represent one of the basic differences in qigong and neigong. What most people don't realize is that the Gift of the Tao movements are neigong and not simple qigong. I actually have great fun watching people who look at the Gift of the Tao movements and say WTF? LOOKING is not SEEING. These are totally non-linear energetic patterns as SEEN while in Stillness-Movement qi state, which is the reason why they are so powerful; actually among the most powerful movements available, which is attested to by those that do them. From a martial artists standpoint of force vectors, moment arms, and for those that are taught the false impression that qigong body mechanics are the main thing needed/necessary for energetics, these moves make no sense whatsoever. This is why mjjbecker asks you how much you practiced. Because mjjbecker has practiced them and seen what they do. To LOOK at them means about zero point zilch. And an opinion received by LOOKING really has no basis; these moves are about the energy itself- NOT about body alignment or breath. As far as the book goes it was written about 15 years ago when I had a little over 20 years of practice in. It is mostly about my experiences; a person either enjoys reading about them or not. This whether a person enjoys it or not is really not debatable - one of those personal choice things. Obviously a whole lot of people did enjoy it or I would have had a ton of used books to sell (and I never have). It is now sold out of the print edition and is going used for twice up to 10 times the amount it originally sold for (which I do NOT condone). BTW, the book ALWAYS had a 30 day money back guarantee. One more comment about the book. The neigong system described there is the real thing, not the run of the mill qigong calisthenic exercises, but real lineage neigong direct from a true Master in China who was considered by his peers as one of the more powerful of his time and who was the head doctor of a well known Medical Qigong Hospital. He asked me to teach this system, both the internal neigong and the medical qigong. He said the energy from my Gift of the Tao movements was amazing, understood that they were a reflection of the Stillness-Movement, and encouraged me to develop more of them (which I have). The medical techniques shown and talked about in the book are impeccable and have been used in my clinic for a very long time. Also by my students and now their students. Our result rate approaches 100%; I specialize in eliminating pain syndromes but have clients with a number of different not-at-ease situations. I am sorry this info is not useful to you. But the book does have medical qigong in the title. I suggest that folks who say they don't find these amazing treatment methods useful never actually tried the methods because boy oh boy do they ever work for all of us that learned them. I also suggest that these methods alone are worth double the price of the book. I may as well take this opportunity to thank any TTB'ers who purchased the book. It was written ONLY in the "qi state" as I refused to write unless I was. A follow up book is due this year. Otis, it is entirely OK with me that you don't like the book. But if you understand what I wrote above then surely you see that no amount of looking at these practices can give anyone any idea whatsoever what they are about. You started with a false premise of "looking" is the same as SEEing and that qigong is based on body mechanics instead of energy. And to say "they (DVD of moves) are useless to you" gives a negative connotation that only has any merit at all if you actually practiced the moves for a period of time. It can't work any other way. Everyone who has actually practiced them has said they feel the energy tremendously. You also have a false premise about the events described in the book. Thinking that I am asking anyone to believe them. I don't ASK anyone to believe them. What I can tell you is that my students have come to find ALL this to be self-evident, with the same type of experiences. I wouldn't have believed me either until I practiced the methods. I do not wish to have conflict with anyone much less with folks who are my peer's students. Or with students who just read books and think they understand. Although quite frankly I do know quite a few of the teachers would be appalled at some of the things said on this board. Otis, my suggestion to you is to attempt to grow beyond the limitations of the physical, to grow beyond the limitations of body-mind, and to look at embracing the energetics itself without these limitations.

double post on edit - sorry
  14. Michael Lomax

Otis, if you have any questions I would be glad to answer them. Please don't assume you understand something you don't. And I would appreciate if you knock off the negativity with the implied things that you imply. If everyone else can see that you are doing that why can't you? And why can't you answer the simple question that 3 people have already asked (now 4). It is not a difficult question. "How much did you practice the Gift of the Tao? How much did you practice the Stillness-Movement?" You have already demonstrated your intent, whether it is conscious or subconscious with these statements: "I mean no disrespect..." then you find the most negative post you can and say you agree with it. Wouldn't it have been better to simply ask me about the things you don't understand? Or to simply say you didn't like the book or the movements and explain why? " ...On the other hand, one does hope that a master will exhibit his mastery somehow, whether in the form of words that resonate with truth, or through a body that resonates with Qi." So why are you implying things that are not true? You are directly implying that I do not demonstrate any mastery, that I do not speak the truth, and that I show no qi. And please don't say that is not your intent, otherwise you wouldn't have said it. Why do you wish to do this? What benefit is it to anyone? It seems that this is not about "reviewing" the book or DVD but some type of ulterior motive. Unfortunately this forum has become full of people who say such things, demonstrating passive aggressive behavior, ignoring the issues, making assumptions based on air, and generally contributing to the negativity of the world. Harmony and true respect would be much better things. Why don't you just go ahead and post a review and quit the negative non-sense? I already know what you would say and believe it or not agree with some of your points from the perspective of someone taught some specific premise of energetics. Doesn't mean you understand or that the premise is true. Just include the answer to the above question that 4 people have asked you in your review. I don't mind if anyone doesn't like the book. What you have said here isn't about that, though. The book is mostly about my experiences. People either enjoy reading about them or they don't. Nothing debatable there, simply a personal choice. And with a 30 day money back guarantee it needed no crusaders to "protect the consumers". The book print edition is sold out. Again,if you wish me to explain anything for you I would be glad to do so. Asking instead of assuming when one doesn't understand something is always a respectful, peaceful approach to these things. I am reluctant to get into any type of conflict with my peers's students or my peer's student's students, which represent the largest part of posters here. And I don't wish conflict with you. But I do think many of those teachers would be appalled at some of the things that are said on this board, as I am.
  15. Michael Lomax

Absolutely not necessary to read book or know anything whatsoever about qigong before a workshop. Where it could come in handy is it can give them insight into where I am coming from; if a person does not resonate with this then it could save them the cost of the workshop - my workshops are useless to pay out for if one doesn't desire to practice the system afterwards. e-book is only 9.99. Also the Stillness-Movement system is listed step by step which can eliminate the need to take time out of the energetics to write all that down.
  16. Michael Lomax

Hi Susan, Mjjbecker's description says it all about the facility but to the other part of your question, I don't know if I have met any nicer folks anywhere; just fantastic vibrant good people. It was like meeting up with old lifetime friends - the good ones - the ones that you keep. I had a whirlwind trip with almost no rest but had a fantastic time. Got to sample real London Pub cask ale (Thanks, P.), yummm. I would be surprised if you receive an answer. What I have seen is that anyone who actually practices the methods receive great benefit and report back to me that these are among the most powerful energetic methods available (as you have reported here). Those that just look at them don't have any idea about their energetic components.
  17. Yes, some idiot person had it listed on ebay for $1000. I may do another printing just to thwart these sort of people. Right now I am trying to get new book together for publication so it will be awhile before I consider re-print. It is, however, available in kindle version. I personally really like kindle and e-readers very much and do think this is the wave for future publishing.
  18. Internet Generation and Tao Training

Just a whole boatload of pure nonsense that I am not going to attempt to respond to. You have taken it upon yourself to attack me. People on forums attack teachers for many reasons. Some people attack teachers because they are just general assholes. Others because they are young and ignorant. Others because they hold negativity in their heart and feel betrayed by a teacher. The last sort should stop the practice that made them that way and seek help. You and I are done on this thread.
  19. Internet Generation and Tao Training

You showed your true colors and what you were up to with the above posts. I engage in no pettiness with the exception of responding to the crap like you post above. You have repeatedly tried to put me as well as 5ET down rather than speak on the subject on the thread. Don't you think it yet old? Try giving it a rest and actually speak on the thread subject.
  20. Internet Generation and Tao Training

You demonstrated your view with the above statement. These forums always have those that attack teachers. And those that post challenges when we post. From those that have no desire whatsoever to learn but to show their own importance. Doesn't bother me, I am posting for those few percentages of folks that actually want real information on Taoist practices.
  21. Internet Generation and Tao Training

I think you are entirely correct. Most people don't really wish to know inner mechanisms of Taoism so you are in the majority.
  22. Internet Generation and Tao Training

Another passive aggressive attack on me, eh? "However the term acended masters only popped into the discussion after Ya Mu joined in." .."Yes, it sure does tend to cofuse matters when people mix new age terms in on a discussion on traditional taoism." Yep, all my fault, eh? Are you basing this on anything at all in terms of Taoism? The term "ascended masters" has been used by Taoists for a very long time. Have you actually studied any Taoism? It matters not what people call them, spirit guides, ascended masters, immortals, hey dude; all this doesn't take away from the fact that they are there - per real Taoist teachings not "new age" (whatever the fuck that means) but "old age". And they don't only assist in "dreams and various spiritual experiences ". Here you have major teachers - who agree- trying to tell you something about Taoism and it appears all you wish to do is spit out these passive aggressive responses instead of actually discussing the subject.
  23. Internet Generation and Tao Training

My definition/understanding of "ascended masters" is not just "human sages who have transcended the physical form." The universe is rather large, eh?
  24. Internet Generation and Tao Training

5ET said, "If we want to talk about the history of ascended masters in Taoism... The first organized "taoist" sect was the "Heavenly Masters" sect. This was the first sect that all other Taoist sects sprang from. The second and possibly even more influential sect was the "Shang Ch'ing" sect. This second sect was founded entirely on revelations from the Lady Wei who was a member of the Heavenly Masters sect and who became an immortal herself. after ascending, She then appeared to her descendents and shared methods of internal alchemy to her descendents who then founded the Mao Shan sect. That sect went on to influence either directly or indirectly all other taoist formalized sects. This is undisputed history. For anyone truly interested in how deep working with ascended masters is in the formation of Taoism, I recommend looking into the history of those sects. In the Shang Ch'ing scriptures, the ENTIRE tradition is focused on working with ascended beings and deities and it is firmly established that the whole point of working with them is to realize one's destiny... For some, it is to become an ascended master, for others it is to become an ascended master... perhaps in later lifetimes. People on this forum want to talk about becoming an immortal, well that is the destiny of everyone. Some will just realize it sooner than others... If one wants to speed up the process, then ask your guides to help align you with your destiny and you are that much closer to realizing your ultimate fate, which is to be an ascended master yourself..." It is appears to me that he directly addressed your question. Did you read it? Your wording of your response to me was interpreted by me exactly as 5ET interpreted. Although I did answer at face value. These words in your response to him, "...At any rate, I didn't mean to put you on the defensive.." are exactly the type of passive aggressive response he was referring to. It appears you are trying to imply that he was actually on the defensive which was not what I read - at all.
