I didn't read your link but I bless my water and my food. I think everyone would benefit from doing this and I teach all my students how to do this in the first workshop. Cat: I use an ozonator when I think about it (read: too lazy to go to the trouble of doing it all the time). I can definitely tell the difference in the water.

Rest is the great restorer. But it seems that a lot of people think they are resting and they are not. Rest does not include watching television or cruising the internet. This is the key to proper breath. To the OP: I teach a spiral restorative qigong which I think would help you. If you are interested you can learn this in one of my workshops. Have you tried simply putting the awareness on dan tian while breathing naturally? You may wish to try this: on the out breath use your diaphragm to expel ALL the air (full contraction) but do not put any focus on the inhale, just relax and let the in breath fill naturally. Notice that when you do this air comes rushing in to fill with more velocity.

Burning a hole in your energy field so that every time you try to concentrate you lose consciousness? Mental instability? Chronic fatigue? Headaches? More but aren't these enough?

Not dumb questions at all. You raise a very good point that it seems many are not even thinking of. This is not something to play around with - only when one is ready, and your questions are what everyone should ask themselves.

Easy Ways To Get Rid of Negative Energy and Build Positive Energy
Ya Mu replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
Here you go; March 20/21/22 workshop will teach you exactly what you are asking. www.qigongamerica.com -
Agreed. It is not something to be done lightly and especially to be experimented with from a posting on the internet. Sometimes...sigh This is the safer way.

I can palpate trigger points and used to do (25-30 years ago) some work mostly per Travell. What I found is that there is really not much need to pay attention to them. The Taoist Medicine technique goes to the source and tells the nerve itself to tell the body to be at ease. Re: Acupuncture It all depends on the who the person is. I have met one Chiropractor that, as far as skills and efficacy goes, I would say he was right up there with the best of the USA acupuncturists. But that was one out of a hundred or so. Most I have met that said they did acupuncture IMO didn't know much about what they were doing. I can say the same about certified acupuncturists. I have met a few that were really good and many that did not get much results. Why is that? It is all about manipulation of energy and if the person doing the manipulating thinks that it is only a needle doing it, and doesn't practice qigong, they will not get as much effect; doesn't matter what their education is. MD's doing acupuncture? Same applies. I know a MD doing acupuncture that gets fantastic results. But they also do qigong. I think the UCLA school of medicine program in acupuncture is not a bad program. No, not as deep a training as NCCAOM certified acupuncturists. IMO the acupuncture schools should add much more qigong to their programs. So should the medical schools. So should the massage schools. IMO physical therapists should also be trained in qigong if they wish to do manual medicine. To quote the head acupuncture doctor at Guan An Men hospital in PRC, "Our doctors who practice qigong get far better results than our doctors who don't." Bottom line IMO is that any practitioner of any discipline that wishes to help others should be required to learn about energetics and if anyone is getting into the business just to make money - don't.

Level of Chi/Relaxation and the tone of the voice
Ya Mu replied to hajimesaito's topic in General Discussion
What is sound? Vibration. We do use different sounds in manipulating energy in medical qigong. -
You are a good TCM doctor and you are always welcome at my workshops.

Cool. But it doesn't have to be pulse taking. A doctor can get info many ways; the Taoist medicine I practice and teach uses the neurological(neuro-energy)system. One of my teachers had a lady come in and he started palpating nerve synapse for about 1-2 minutes before he rolled his chair to his desk and made 2 phone calls. One to a neuro-surgeon who he told to prep up and one to an ambulance. The neuro-surgeon called later in the day and said if she had of been 10 minutes later getting to the hospital she would be dead. I have my moments as well and am continually having doctors call me up and asking me "How the hell did you know that?" Goes with the territory.

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
There is no written info on this system. I tried years ago to sit down and write about it and found that the Taoist medicine that can be written is not the real Taoist medicine It is a hands-on system that requires qi cultivation, so, even if it could be written it would be very difficult to get anything from the literature. It boils down to it always has been and always will require direct learning. -
Spiritual empathy! Where is the off switch?!

Ah, Nice. I haven't even listened to it yet; yet I feel the Power. Connection to Spirit! Hey Ya!

It is kinda amazing that so many "new" systems and "shortcuts" have shown up in the spiritual/cultivation/consciousness marketplace. IMO nothing works if it doesn't raise the energy body vibration in a safe manner. This is not a quick process but a process that requires consistent time & effort. As I have said before, possibly things like getting struck by lightning may quicken the process, but who wishes to volunteer to check that out as most of those experiences end in death. I 100% agree with you; the "long-term method" proves to BE the "short-term method".

Traditional etiquette of sifu-student relationship?
Ya Mu replied to Old Man Contradiction's topic in General Discussion
It is a matter of respect. If anyone doesn't respect the person they are training with they should not be there. Different cultural backgrounds do make a difference but respect is worldwide. I am much more informal and do not prefer to be called anything but my first name. My Chinese teachers have been pretty laid back and treated me as close friends. But I certainly noticed the respect given to them by the whole town in which they lived. In fact, I got way more respect than I deserved in China simply because of who's student I was. I know Master Chang did not like the word "sifu" as he said it was too "blue collar". -

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Absolutely, wish more folks understood this. Interesting way of looking at it. Light to you. Here's your chance March 20/21/22 www.qigongamerica.com -
LOL The thing is that there are many different "talents"; this test would only have meaning to someone with those particular talents but gives no useful info for people with other talents. I guess it depends on one's definition of "psychic power"?

Believe me when I say that everyone on the path has had those feelings of frustrations at one point or another. Just remember, this too shall pass. Hang in there.

I have not tip-toed through the "psychic stuff" but told you exactly how to get there. You cannot force this. It is admirable that you have been practicing since '08 but you must know it usually takes more time than that "to get there". Wish you the best.

This is because you have not reached Wu Wei, synchronicity, to start with. It requires all those things I said in my posts. Start with raising the energy body vibration rate and developing Virtue.
-
And here we get to the crux of the matter. You and I are both saying that Power without Knowledge AND Wisdom is useless. And I said that Wisdom is a many-lifetime pursuit. So just WTF do we do? Is it a conundrum? To solve any one thing we must rise above the level of that particular thing. So, raising the energy body vibration is essential. After aligning ourselves with the Divine we must then practice Listening. This comes from walking in the Wu Wei. When we do that we no longer make decisions based on mental (although we keep the mental as a powerful tool) but based on the Higher Level course of action. By practicing Listening and walking in the Wu Wei our actions will be in alignment with the current of the moment instead of going against the flow; i.e. synchronicity will happen. It gets so deep and layered that it is truly mind boggling, but we really do not even have to be concerned with that, we just have to Listen and walk.

I can quote one of my teachers, "The practice of Stillness-Movement awakens our Sacred Gifts." I will not speak of other practices except for what I teach. You miss the point. It is NOT a different subject but the very essence of the subject. One cannot gain Power without these things. Then you would not be true to yourself and any "Power" you developed would be limited. What the real YOU has planned has no scope outside the plan. So "Power" developed and used against yourself is self-destructive. Good. Keep it up, find and fulfill your Destiny. Bravo! Hmmn; Well I have plenty of Power, some really small bit of Knowledge, and a very microscopically small little bit of Wisdom. I would advise you to re-think, for if the knowledge was truly there then you would already be within Power as well. I speak of Knowledge not as written in books, but as known for oneself through energy practices. Reading something does not make it our own. You may wish to think on attending one of my workshops. I WILL teach you how to raise your energy body vibration - the rest will be up to you.
