Here you go: http://www.thecenterplace.com/ http://www.thecenterplace.com/ Damaris Jarboux is one of the most outstanding women in the field of qigong. Several of her students have cross-trained with me. IMO you will not find a better female teacher of energetics.
-
Absolutely not. It is real. It is vibrant. It IS the real you!
-
Of course Sacred is a universal concept. Who decides? YOU! It is much easier to tune in to the universal Sacredness (true wu wei) when a person awakens to who they really are. Anyone that thinks life is meaningless has not done so. When one does this then each and every action is synchronous rather than chaotic. Compassion is the true superpower!

I agree. Although the medical practice I teach and practice is entirely derived from and applied by the Spiritual practice that I teach and practice; they are inherently intertwined. I sincerely do not agree with the "life is meaningless" bunch. Life is Sacred.

The difference between Chi Kung and Nei Kung
Ya Mu replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
Just like to point out that not all qigong or neigong utilizes breathwork and/or mind direction. Some forms are concerned with neither and go straight to the energetics. -
Your comment on sitting qigong is right on IMO. In the neigong system I teach and practice we avoid all visualization, saying it is OK to SEE and FEEL the energy but putting the visualization in there actually slows things down; it becomes finite instead of infinite. But not sure where you are going with the moving comment. The goal is to remove the mind from the equation to make it infinite - multidimensional instead of finite - 3-dimensional. I have found that simple rebounding is both yin and yang and beats any exercise of any kind for efficiency as far as body exercises go. Rebounding neigong is INCREDIBLE but takes quite a bit of time for the mind to get over the "but I'm jumping up and down".

The difference between Chi Kung and Nei Kung
Ya Mu replied to Encephalon's topic in General Discussion
When I first started teaching neigong I had several folks come through my classes that had been exposed to Chi Kung, with some calling themselves "Chi Kung Masters". It was very difficult for them to understand the neigong. But these days most people think the term Chi Kung pretty much encompasses all. If a person understands neigong then they will understand chi kung, but the opposite is not true. I developed a Chi Kung movement system through the practice of neigong. When marketing, I usually call it all Chi Kung to avoid confusion in the western mind. -
I have seen all the talents manifest in students. Yours is one I have worked with. Why do we have different and not same talents? This comes about from your spiritual lineage. I talk about this in my book. A lot of the talents cross over and most people have some of all but usually one will be dominant. Practicing cultivation will manifest it. But as mentioned above by Song Yongdao, , I strongly advise folks to pay attention to this.

Some of the best advice you will ever read on a forum in your lifetime. I have seen in clinic a large number of men who have tried these bullshit birth control methods that do not have anything to do with real cultivation. These techniques screwed them up pretty bad. IN fact, someone who had messed themselves up called me just yesterday about this. Find a real qigong teacher that others have gotten results with and quit playing around if you value your health, energy, and sanity.

One of the most important things a person can do is have balance in their lives. This balance can be reflected in daily life pursuits. If you cultivate and do Spiritual work you should balance it with something you like to do. If you like to garden, then you should garden. If you like to play basketball, then you should play basketball. If you like music, you should play music. As an example, yesterday I did distance energy healing (qi manipulation on the quantum level) from 7 AM until 12:45 PM. And for my balance, I played high energy rock n roll from 9PM until 1AM. And to address the 2nd half of my topic, I did the above, which included band setup from 6 PM and breakdown until 3 AM, then driving an hour, and got up at 7:30 AM this morning. I am pass the sunny side of mid-50's and I did this WITHOUT practicing semen retention, forced methods, breathing techniques, and lifting weights (much); just plain old-fashioned qigong/neigong. Oh, and I have a qi-belly and do not look like a muscleman, but don't get colds/flu's. A 10 minute a day part of my qigong is body oriented isotonal exercises. The rest is energy oriented movements and Spiritual/Medical/Neigong qigong for 2-6 hrs a day; qi manipulation (wei qi liao fa) 4-8 hrs a day, qi-state awareness 24/7. THE most important aspect in this cultivation/energy manipulation is the alignment with Spirit.

Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
I don't think your reply is off topic. . I would like to address what you are saying. Rather than try to refute what you are saying, I would rather put the response in terms of my experience and to ask you some questions which may/may not have any meanings. I actually tried Chia's system for several years. Success or failure? It depends on what is meant by that. Was I successful in birth control? yes. Was it successful in my awareness/health increase? Not in my opinion. And, I did and still do work on men in clinic that have attempted this technique and gained many health problems from practicing it. I do not like or appreciate this tehnique for this reason. Master Wang, when asked about this technique, said he was very familiar with it and that it was a technique developed strictly for birth control. No "cultivation" whatsoever associated with it. And from my experience, what I concluded about Chia's earlier work, was that he was a scholar who didn't know very much at all about the practical side of things. Researched a bunch of stuff, published it and wham bam INSTANT western Taoist master that steered the whole western world on a course of mostly non practical applications. SO MANY fell for all that stuff. To his credit, I do think he now has some experience of practice to which he can help others. Now, why do you feel it worked/still works for you. Is it your ONLY practice? If so, then that is irrefutable evidence to you that it works. But I do not believe it is your only practice. Could it be that you have mastered birth control and the practice itself has nothing whatsoever to do with your awareness/health progress? Could it be because of "who you are" and other practices that you approached with sincerity/sobriety and gongfu have accomplished your progress? Or even this technique because of who you are and sincere approach? I would be willing to bet this has a lot to do with it. By who you are I mean how much energy you brought with you to this world and how much you progressed in other lifetimes and what your destiny is. For myself, when Master Wang taught me the High Level sexual transmutation method (after asking about Chia's method) I found such a profound difference (and still do) in the techniques. The High Level method is called that because it shifts a person (couple, actually) dimensionally where the male recaptures not only what he "lost" energetically but the energy is transmuted enough that the couple are actually thrown into a separate energy awareness where energy pulled in is a total different and higher quality of energy. The net result is astounding, the sky opens up to another world with a different star system with a different and much higher quality/density of energy. And much gain in energy and awareness is realized. Far be it from me to attempt to deny your experiences for they are yours. Just thought I would add mine and present alternative answers to the question you raise. -
Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
I think this is a realization to which we all have to eventually arrive. But it is a realization that is very threatening to anyone that has not yet realized the mind has made a slave of us (all of us) by limiting us to this world and that the mind is attempting utmost to prevent this realization; the mind does not like this realization at all. I think one of the misunderstandings is when we say this people may think we are downplaying the power of the mind. Not true. I know I am saying that the mind is SO POWERFUL, it has become our worst enemy in the realization that we are multidimensional beings and the real connection/knowledge of our true self. When we do make that realization the mind then becomes a powerful slave for the real multidimensional self for operations in this world/dimension. You use the ego and the mind as valuable tools; you do not cast them aside. Anyone that claims they have reached the highest level is lying - there are always higher levels. One learns to enslave the mind to the true/real you by dampening thoughts, or rather non-indulgence of thoughts. Remember me telling of the brain wave/sleep lab experience? Brain waves slowed through the first 3 levels of sleep in 3 minutes while standing awake? Practice is what accomplishes this as well as multidimensional realization/awareness. -
Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
And you know this because your mind, which is limited by the brain waves, tells you so? While indeed simple experience can lead to deluded insights (the delusion usually caused by the mind analyzing and twisting the truth of the experience into something more palatable), most experience is just that, experience. When you were a baby and you touched a hot stove, you learned by experience that the stove would burn. A person can't say that it is delusion simply because it was an experience. Or if you think that you can use your mind to make the stove not hot - be my guest. I have listened to this mind/intellectual stuff in the Buddhism threads. Over and over, page after page after page after page. And all it was was one person's intellectual ability to put words together in a string to make a point. I even posted a Buddhist poem, an extremely powerful hand-me-down from a previous Abbot of one of the holy Buddhist mountains in one of those threads. But I don't think a single one of the posters got it because everyone was too busy with mental masturbation. Your mind/brain is your worst enemy, and it is very difficult for a person to progress until they realize that. It is only when a person takes the mind out of the equation, learns that the mind has been controlling them like a slave, preventing from realization of the true self; it is only then that a person can awaken. AND this awakening comes with a knowing that the Divine flows in all., and that every YOU is an inherent part of the Divine. All the energetics that you put down is the manipulation of the very creative fabric of the universe. The mind/brain is the manipulation of electrical signals inside a body. The mind/brain, which is only a bunch of electrical signals, dies when the body dies and the energy body is immortal. It is everyone's choice which they wish to cultivate. And Beings can become attached to their mind, which at all costs wishes to remain the master, for an entire lifetime, mentally masturbating their way to thinking they have become Gods. And you know this, not because you have experienced it, but because your mainmost enemy has told you so. So, with your superior intellect go ahead and try to take this apart. I am sure your flowing words will sway many but one thing is for sure, those words will mean nothing to a person who has learned, through an awakening experience, that the mind is the enemy that has enslaved humanity. -
Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
Ah, very good. We could intellectually dissect any particular thing for 10,000 years and not arrive at the truth of experiencing that thing. -
John, Find a qualified teacher of qigong/neigong. Practice the methods daily. Don't fall for all the bullshit posted on the internet. After you have actually raised your energy body vibration rate through the practice then it is quite easy to spot the bullshit and laugh to yourself. You are on a slippery slope trying to do this on your own. The semen retention techniques, properly taught (most is total and pure bullshit - for birth-control a condom works safer), can possible help a person, but I assure you they are totally unnecessary. Ask in your local Chinatown, go to the NQA.org site and search for teachers, ask here for recommendation of a teacher near you, and make your choice for a teacher from the true heart.

Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
Oh Yes! Good info! I started to post a new topic, saying "The single greatest Superpower in Qigong" and in the post saying one word "Compassion!" The semen retention thing is, as you say, dangerous and it really is not needed. I have repeatedly posted that a dual cultivation method which includes LOVE is far more powerful and I still stand by that statement. This method is published in my book. I do think certain natural hallucinogenics could help to initially open a person up, but I have repeatedly said I do not advocate this method unless it is a part of one's natural culture. Even then, I do know that it is far better to reach higher levels through natural and not forced means. And manymost people are certainly NOT GEARED to handle these methods and would be much better off not going there. And your comment on "intellectual addicts" is spot on; what folks must eventually realize is that the higher level states transcend thinking. There are no short cuts. Daily practice is the way to riches. -
Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
2 hrs a day is good UNLESS you are projecting qi to others for healing. In that case it should be more. I tell my students 2 hrs if they only project qi occasionally. If they do so every day then 3 hrs min. For self maintenance a mixture of neigong and movement qigong is best. 2 hrs of it will do much for a person. Most days I do over 2 hrs - but some days are better than others -
They teach you this in acupuncture school? I think once you have practiced for a while you will find it to be not true. Define "done correctly". Per TCM? Qigong standards? What system? MA standards?

Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
Nothing all the time except quite often circuma longa or sometimes Jiang Huang Wan (circuma longa formula). Sometimes I use CordySeng (proprietary cordyceps/americam ginseng/reishi formula. I keep all kinds of Chinese Herbal formulas on my medicine shelf and in my clinic. I really do believe in the Listening method and practice it constantly. -
Balance and What is really needed in cultivation?
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in General Discussion
Garry, my point was not that some physical exercise was not needed (I do physical exercise) but that the typical western idea of what a healthy body should look like is dead wrong, and that by practicing qigong we do transform the body/mind/spirit all. I do agree with you that physical exercise is needed for balance. But for the actual amount of physical exercise I do there is no way I should be able to jump around actively on a stage until the wee hrs while maintaining the level of energy projection I do, and the small amount of sleep I need - the qigong is what allows me to do this. . You obviously have a handle already on some meal/ingredients ideas. What I have found is that, if a person practices qigong to a certain point, they can go to the same buffet everyday that has vegetables of all varieties, meats, fruits, etc. Day 1, if they simply practice Listening they will choose exactly what foods the body needs that day. Day 2 same, but will most probably choose different foods. I believe we have the inherent ability to properly make that decision. I eat meat, but not a lot, mostly vegetables and fruit. And I do like the use of a lot of herbs and think they can be very beneficial. It is a qi belly. My teacher had one as well. I do not desire a (looks like he's healthy and works out in a gym but is not healthy inside) type of body. Muscles like a cat are much better able to respond and allow qi flow than big hard muscles gained by lifting weight. I also do not like razor thin bodies gained by starving oneself. I posted this thread instead of posting individual responses in all the current threads on weight lifting, semen retention, qi belly, etc. One of my points is all that extraneous stuff is not necessary or needed. Other points of my post are that stamina and ability to manipulate energy are not dependent on what the external viewer perceives. I am very active on the stage while performing rock n roll. Oh, and at 7:30 this morning, I ate what I wanted for breakfast, went out and shot a (legal) deer at 200 yards left-handed, dragged it 1/2 mile by myself and cleaned it. Yes I eat meat. AND I am still going strong this afternoon and plan another healing session today. I do a bit of physical workout, but my main concern is not physical but spiritual. Most people my age who do not practice qigong would have been in bed all day after the type of energy expenditure that I have done in the last 32 hrs. -
An informal report on the Taoist summit, Beijing

A1! You can surely look in the eyes and KNOW! -
The name "Dan Fererra" I didn't remember but when I went to a link for his site he looks familiar. Is he a member of the NQA? edit: And to stay on topic, of course there is something called a "qi belly". I ought to know And Trunk is correct - bodies come in all shapes and sizes. The western view of "healthy looking" is mostly the old over-developed muscle look which does not reflect what is going on inside.
-
The truth is that, once dan tian is created, with practice it gets very large, so don't worry about it. Lower is below navel and inside body. Don't worry about any measurement.
