  1. Kundalini "teasers"?

All is well. Stay calm. I did a bit of calming for you last night. The white energy encompasses the entire spectrum. Nothing wrong. What happens when a person receives energy? It goes where it need to. When Dan Tian is full then it does go up the MCO and through the channels, opening them up. Feel calmness and try to quit worrying about kundalini. You were having a normal reaction to powerful chi projection. We will keep things calm. At some point, in everyone's lifetime of lifetimes, all this opening is going to occur no matter what we do. Fear not, it is natural and a part of your real heritage. But, again, we WILL keep things calm and natural.
  2. This directed to me? My teacher was also jailed by the communists for 17 years of torture and little to eat. When the regime changed the party member at the time helped set him up as the principle of a qigong healing hospital. Those guys shure had it rough! We have it SO easy; most do not realize how much. I was on the certification standards committee for the NQA. I believe both my program and his meet the NQA requirements. Graduates of the programs can apply to the NQA for certification as a clinical qigong therapist. The NQA lists the requirements (haven't actually checked this in a while but should be there). www.nqa.org The NQA certifies teachers as up to level IV which requires a minimum 10 years of teaching experience and proof of program. I am a level IV certified teacher with the NQA and I believe Chunyi Lin is as well.

Booktreasure: You make a very good point about the class. Only those who actually practice Stillness-Movement will get any benefit. So for anyone thinking of attending that is unwilling to actually practice the method, save your money! Anyone who attends with their cup already full and is unwilling to put the work in will NOT like this class. Thanks again for making this point. Book return policy
  5. Who is trained in Micro Cosmic Orbit?

No one can simply tell you this. You have to experience it for yourself. Something tells me you will. I know you will if we can get a qigong workshop together in your area that you can attend. I too am not fond of visualization as it is of the mind (remember brain waves are measurable) and has finite rather than infinite implications and applications. QUOTE(松永道 @ May 18 2009, 05:54 PM) * Yes! Good!
  6. Why do you believe in qi?

I experienced qi before I knew what it was and never really believed or disbelieved, it simply was. But yeah, it is my living reality as well. You have the capacity for this. These things are impossible to predict, but If you practice Stillness-Movement daily and maybe attend a couple more workshops I think it will happen within the next 2 years. Practice the sorcerer's vision technique I taught in the workshop. Best (easiest) in evening. Don't want to say be careful what you wish for but even though seeing qi is very useful in my profession, when I see sick qi I sometimes wish I could turn it off. I can't not see it, no matter if I close my eyes and turn my body away from the patient. It is rather ... disgusting... Also remember what I said about totality of perception, it is an energy awareness, not looking through the eyes. This dimming of the lights has happened at my workshops. I think it depends on "where" we pull energy from. If I just reach out suddenly and pull energy from everywhere it can happen. But if I consciously pull specific vibrational frequencies from other vibratory levels it does not. IMO it is the creative fabric of the universe.
  7. Zhan Zhuang Standing information

Good post! I totally agree with the diminished returns and nervous system part not so sure about the "spiritual greed" part. It is interesting reading all the responses and very obvious who comes from a more physically oriented martial arts background and who comes from more of an energy oriented qigong background. I can't say a whole lot about this as I don't practice this form (have done so in past), but I do practice standing Stillness-Movement. And of course one can say all these practices are related. In standing Stillness-Movement I can usually charge up in about 10 minutes. 40 min - 1 hr is like blast off into the stratosphere. But it is pretty easy to determine when a point of "saturation" is reached. At this point, in my system, it is better to switch to walking qigong or movement qigong then come back to the standing later if one wishes. I do think the more a person does the more efficient they get so that time spent is more productive; the "saturation" point is reached much sooner if you are a regular practitioner versus if you only do it occasionally. And one can reach this point several times in one day. I do think the practice is accumulative.
  8. I think what happens is that internal exercise makes the external exercise more efficient. Rebounding - Jumping on a rebounder, is the single most efficient physical exercise that exists. It stimulates the immune system and exercises every single cell in the body. Approx 60% more efficient than running per Nasa study.
  9. There is an old saying; if you do externall exercise you need to do internal exercise. If you do internal exercise you can sometimes forget to do external exercise. This doesn't mean it takes the place of. I highly advocate rebounding exercise in conjunction with qigong. I also highly advocate qigong movements combined with sitting. I also think weight bearing exercise is good. But yes I do think the physical exercise is enhanced with the qigong.

More info on TTB about what I teach: http://www.thetaobums.com/Review-Stillness...009-t10576.html http://www.thetaobums.com/Stillness-Moveme...omax-t9456.html http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=7783&st=0 While all standing forms have a similar component Stillness-Movement standing does have differences than ZZ. Stillness-Movement has standing, sitting, walking, sleeping/dreaming, running, tree, - qigong components. Sorry about the chrome thing. I have optimized for firefox. Sent you a PM offering to cover the shipping cost of the book for free if you want it. I'll extend this offer for free shipping to any TTBer that wants the book.
  11. Create a Qi Field

It is a state of higher vibration, utilizing energy and INTENT. It will not happen without both. Teachers that do this do it in the classroom environment so as to induce a qi flow in the students to help raise their energy awareness (higher vibratory state). When I do this usually people who have never before felt qi all of a sudden are very aware of it. I do this when I teach qigong to help the student get to a particular state where they can go home, practice, and add to that state. Also, I do this in the introductory medical qigong class. It is awesome seeing people who have never before projected energy get 70-100% results with their wei qi lia fa (healing with external energy, qi projection) while in the class. This gives them impetus toward further development of their own abilities as seeing is believing in this instance. So, what I do, and what other certain teachers do is establish a qi field for the students to draw from, then project qi individually to the student to remove blockages and Light the Fire (create dan tian). The student then goes home and builds on this. If the student goes home and thinks about it then most of the effort is lost. But if the student goes home and practices this method they can shave many years from the effort of getting to a certain point in their qigong. I have students able to do very good wei qi liao fa in a matter of months but of course it is a lifetime effort of practice.
  12. Microcosmic Orbit

Well you could think about finding a teacher that will help you create dan tian. Or if you have several years just put awareness on dan tian and don't think.
  13. Microcosmic Orbit

Create Dan Tain first. Build/refine Dan Tian next. MCO will happen on its own. OK to circulate if you want. If a person tries to circulate before they cultivate it is very easy to establish blockages. Seen a whole lot of problems when people think MCO is first. Why not allow natural way? All that said don't worry and just go up back down front AFTER you have built Dan Tian.
  14. Create a Qi Field

Technique depends on who you are and how much one has practiced - takes dedication and time&effort to be able to do. Anyone that can create it does benefit as well since it is a Higher level state. But it does take a certain toll on the teacher by keeping it up for several days at a time. Not all medical qigong is equal - most all is beneficial. It would be an individual case situation. Certainly can't make any type of blanket statement that it would work. There is an advanced technique for kidney stone removal; should apply to gall stones although I have never personally tried. I would say generally a person is asking a whole helluva lot to think it would immediately work but I have seen things happen that I previously would have bet wouldn't work.
  15. Create a Qi Field

I do this at every qigong workshop I teach.
  16. Do you meditate / Practice Daily

36 years daily meditation; some days are better than others.
  17. Bao Ding Balls

I have a set that was given to me by the head of the factory in Baoding when I was at the Baoding Qigong Healing Hospital. I think they are OK for a simple meditative state and great for arthritis therapy and arthritis prevention. Probably best to not worry about any type of focus and stay relaxed as possible.
  18. "In Movement there is stillness"?

In the system I practice and teach, Stillness-Movement Qigong, we obtain stillness by cutting the internal dialogue and relaxing the body to allow the qi to move the body. So this is movement through stillness. Our movement system, the Gift of the Tao movements (which are obtained through the Stillness-Movement practice), do the opposite, we move through patterns of vibrational shifting which induce stillness.

So John Winston Ono Lennon had it right with "All You Need is Love", eh?
  22. You are all delusional!

Part of what you say I agree with. The part that you probably do not relate to is the "show the scientists" part. If they do not have the instrumentation to measure it then for the most part they will not be interested in any "showing". However, certain components of qi have been measured. If you bother to search the database of scientific research on qi and qigong http://www.qigonginstitute.org/html/papers.php for papers and http://www.qigonginstitute.org/html/database.php for the database. If these do not meet your scientific standard then you can't be convinced or helped by anyone on this board. FWIW I have had many MD's as well as scientists in my classes that felt the qi and observed its effects; didn't mean they had any interest whatsoever in pursuing studies. I think it should always be experiential. In other words, when I teach I tell the students it is NOT what I know but what YOU can know. What I say doesn't mean a thing but what YOU can experience does mean something. We do medical qigong everyday in clinic with amazing results. You can explain it away by saying things like "it just is a form of hypnosis" or some such, but that doesn't explain why people who absolutely do not believe in it have body movements when they are face down on a therapy table not being able to see what you are doing nor why the pain is eliminated nor why this works really well on animals. Anytime you wish to fund any type of medical qigong study I am available to participate. You find the doctors and scientists willing to do their part. I imagine you can put together a really good study for a little less than $1,000,000. Or if you find the scientists and doctors willing to put in free time (good luck!) and a facility with sensitive measuring equipment willing to donate it's time (last I checked acoustic labs are several hundred thousand an hour; again - good luck!). Furthermore if you come to one of my workshops I would be extremely surprised if you didn't feel qi. So surprised that I will offer you a money back guarantee that you will leave believing in the existence of qi and its ability to take pain away from others or your money back. It is no big secret and simply takes time&effort practice. Is there a lot we don't know about qi? In terms of medical qigong I believe we are in its infancy and we know some things but certainly NOT everything. But IMO one day it will be the medicine of the future.
  23. You are all delusional!

    Great post!
  24. standing meditation: HOW TO STAND???

I wasn't referring to your practice. If the entire body is moving that of course is dynamic. I was referring to the static placement of feet/sacrum/knees/arms/trunk, etc in a standing exercise. Some do this as described above, but the Stillness-Movement system does not. The qi moves every body part as it wants; therefore dynamic. And not only dynamic, but qi dynamic; in other words the qi is moving the body while the mind is removed from the equation.
