Find someone in your area that practices medical qigong; this could help.

If you need to plant your feet just so, and keep them there, as some of the replies suggest, then it IS a static position.

I gathered you were trying to figure out which it was, but if you have it figured out, never mind.

Is meditation necessary for self realization?
Ya Mu replied to Old Man Contradiction's topic in General Discussion
Interesting that someone has finally said this. I agree! -
Depends on what you are doing. For Stillness-Movement standing meditative qigong form, you will move through many different weight distributions because it is a dynamic rather than a static system. IMO this is much better than static as it will pump qi through all the channels without conscious effort.

To the OP. If you think this is a thought form, simply do a loud and deep belly laugh; this usually dispels most thought forms. If it is an entity you can try simply asking if it is of the Light. To others that say they do not experience interactions I say it is only that you do not REMEMBER the interactions. You interact all the time and just don't yet realize it. It is simply a matter of raising the energy body vibration rate in order to start remembering some of these interactions. I wouldn't try to initiate contact with any other than your teachers; those that sit on your council table, and then only if you are willing to put in the time and effort of raising the energy body vibrations. I have spoken on this before and again this includes daily time&effort practice, the practice of Virtue, and calmness. We are all the time learning whether we realize it or not. Assuming responsibility for who you really are will gain you more remembered as well as conscious interaction. The old way of healing was to call the Beings of Light in to do the healings; this is what the Shamans of old did (as well as some now). But if we assume responsibility AS vibrant Beings of Light then we can manipulate the raw fabric of the universe just like these advanced Beings do. If you ever feel yourself threatened simply gather your qi, set your INTENT, and project ssssssssss at whatever you feel is threatening you (this doesn't work as well if you are not practicing). If it is your teacher and only your mind is making up a threat he will laugh at you. If you do practice and start to glow it is a good idea to start cloaking yourself so that you do not draw unwanted attention. This applies to unwanted earthly attention as well. Here is the thing. If you are not willing to put in the practice then you probably will next time around. If you are willing then all this takes care of itself. Many worlds exist. You are not alone. You will also find, if you have a powerful earthly teacher, that they will come to you and teach you in dreamtime. This initially can kinda freak a person out, but it is normal.

A program I have used is to first get a hand of natural tobacco without the additive chemicals. Don't pre-roll. The experience is better than the floor sweepings they call tobacco so one does not want as many cigs in a day. Having to roll at the time of smoking gives a break; no grabbing one just to nervously smoke it, have to prepare, so smoke less. Next wake up one morning soon and try to breathe without coughing - can't can you? Now run 3 miles. Hurts, doesn't it? So give yourself a swift kick in the ass and don't smoke anymore. The physical addiction only lasts 24 hrs. Continue running every morning - you won't want another.

I Want To Learn Everything About Qi Gong! (Where Do I Start?)

Ah, so you finally get it. Good. But continue your research, because you will find that while most but not all forms are good, all forms are not equal. -
Yes! Through living in society we have established many filters that need to be removed before we can stop the world and see NOW. I believe when we were born we didn't have these filters but quickly established them as we were "taught" what others perceived as reality.

This thread on Buddhism, as usual was derailed, and raised a lot of points about health care in the USA. But I saw no solutions proposed. Fact: Health care in the USA is not available to everyone as many can not afford it. Fact: Many who do work and attempt to take care of themselves get ill and find themselves losing their homes and unable to support their families due to exorbitant health care costs. Fact: We who do attempt to take care of our health end up paying for those who smoke, drink, and overeat excessively because they get sick. What is a solution in accord with Tao? Argue for or against govt health care but propose a solution. One solution I propose is education; integrate Chinese and other self health care like qigong. More education in the schools on the effects of smoking, eating well, exercise, and substance abuse like crystal meth. But the govt is not really going to do that, folks like me are a drop in the bucket making the attempt to do that, but perhaps the first step of a thousand mile journey... What is YOUR solution?

Here is a flyer for my next class. My website is listed in signature below. Yes, Taoist sand speed skating technique - guaranteed to provide awareness of a nose full of sand. Actually I was doing the Gift of the Tao: Vibratory Acts of Power qigong movements. -

Tai Chi is a martial art. If you learn qigong first then you can turn it into a energy gongfu. In another thread you posted I gave you a link to a good tai chi dvd so you could see what it is about. To actually learn it you need a teacher. Just like you need a teacher to learn real qigong. I make music and meditate. I listen to music or not when I meditate. I meditate when watching movies, I meditate ... The question IS, what do YOU want to do? You know, this is a good board for asking questions with a lot of knowledgeable people and asking questions is a good thing. But you need to realize that anyone can post here and say anything whatsoever; doesn't mean it has a lick of truth to it. Find a class to take with a teacher and see what it is all about for yourself, don't take our word for it! If you want to learn a powerful form of qigong come to my next workshop. -

Many do not understand this. This is why I say that to raise the energy body vibrational frequency is something that can be carried on and not limited to this "snap of the fingers" that we call our lifetime. Also why I put more emphasis on awareness than on the physical. And one can learn to tap into it by raising the energy body vibrational frequency through internal meditative qigong practice. -

I don't recommend anyone seeking it - but it did work for me very well. A true experience that there is no past/present/future only NOW. edit: Can I also say it was a very illuminating experience? -

Learn Qigong first, martial arts second. For a good DVD on Tai Chi: For a DVD teaching a powerful qigong movement form. If you REALLY wish to learn qigong, attend this workshop in October. -
IMO MCO should be AFTER creation and development of Dan Tian. And if you don't know what this means then find a teacher who can show you.

Qigong and energy work and yoga and stuff shorten your life span
Ya Mu replied to Teddy's topic in General Discussion
Just wanted to repeat this - very good! I guess everything depends on a soul's destiny. If a person gets to the point in energy development where he can help others, then he has a choice, do it or not. If he chooses to use this energy to help others it is because of compassion and a true desire to make a difference. It is very easy to allow one's self to be overloaded in trying to help. Where concern for others outweighs concern for the self. I actually tell my students that wish to learn qigong healing to truly examine the reasons they wish to learn it. I try to talk most of them out of learning it. I have never said that the practicing energy healer will have utmost longevity. But it is a path for self-development utilizing compassion, and it is a needed thing in our society. This doesn't necessarily mean said healer will die young or old. If said healer truly pays attention to BALANCE then he can, depending on genetics, life style, etc, live as long as any other practitioner. What I am saying is that, due to compassion and intense desire to help others, it is very easy to not achieve this balance. Another part of this, is, of course, that some systems promote energy myths that will help the healer to die young if they practice them. Bottom line, if anyone wishes to utilize energy for healing they dang well should know what they are getting into and what they are doing. -
Yep, this is the reason Taoist medicine is one of the more powerful therapeutic forms that exists.

Yep, it happens. Remember all the mom and pop small businesses that existed channeling American made goods before mega-mart came along with volume-purchased cheaper Chinese made goods? Wiped out all the small businesses. And now grocery stores, and I am sure mega-mart packs a heckuva lobbying effort. -

One thing that has not been mentioned in detail is the problem of health care givers collecting the insurance. I personally support fee for service instead. In order to collect insurance the health care professional has to hire a fulltime person and pay them 30-60 K a year JUST to fill out insurance paperwork. And in the case of medicare/medicaid, if the filer screws up then it can be a felony charge on the health professional. I know in my field, (I work as a licensed massage therapist) there are many that push for insurance companies to re-imburse for massage therapy. Heck, if I had to file all that paperwork I would have to work a couple of days more than I do now just to pay for the filing of insurance claims. No thanks! Fee for service with a guarantee of satisfaction gets me more clients and I make more than if I took insurance. What a waste of dollars for "health care" in the current medicare/medicaid and insurance setup. SO far, some of the ideas to better our system are: 1) More education 2) More access to preventative health care 3) More "free economy" competition with less regulation as well as more laws (or undoing of existing regulations) eliminating restriction on interstate insurance competition 4) More targeted Government spending 5) Increase healthy eating by opening healthy alternative restaurants (might this come under education?, no one is going to offer these unless they come to the conclusion that it is a money making investment) 6) Financial incentives for maintaining good health and disincentives for maintaining poor health 7) Tax "unhealthy" and incentives for "healthy" foods - problem of definition of unhealthy/healthy I am sure I have left out some. -

Great idea for the restaurant. I can see a chain happening. Is there already a "Scotty's Healthy Fast Food" in the making? But I disagree with the education thing. It is more like a matter of how it is approaced. I knowin our area the teachers are mostly fat omen. Sure they put up the mandatory poster or "health" class may show the mandatory slide. But they do not try to educate the students on this issue because that would be going against what they themselves like to do. They also have no education themselves on preventive medicine, so how are they to educate the children on this? This is just like the stupid "just say no to drugs" program they did on TV and in schools. It didn't educate the students on anything. True education means getting into the details. Agreed totally! I preach this every day.
