In the practice of High Level Chi Kung Healing one can NOT gain in ability past a certain point without the practice of Virtue. Master Wang's 3 things needed in order to progress: 1) Practice Stillness-Movement 2) Be a Good & Moral Person 3) Stay Calm I like what Ben D said. Eventually, through the practice of attempting virtue the real virtue becomes (IS). Then all decisions are made without thinking about them and are virtuous acts or acts which gain virtue. Since everyone is not familiar with Taoist concepts I often talk about this as "Good Deed's Power" in which Power/Knowledge/Wisdom can be gained through Good Deed's Acts. Further explanation reveals that these "Good Deed's Acts" are not from a conventional moral definition but acts derived from tuning in to innate intuitive wisdom through the act of raising the energy body vibration rate and making the conscious choice of following the path.

The book Destiny of Souls has an interesting take on this. A lot of the book's information coincides with my experiences which are described in this book.

How to avoid suffering when experiencing physical pain
Ya Mu replied to YawningMind's topic in General Discussion
I think you, marblehead and I all are saying some same things but with slightly different personal experience that color our concepts. I didn't mean that you were incorrect in what you were saying, just trying to add a further perspective to it. About qi and pain. This is fairly simple. If there is pain then sick qi is involved. What we do is project qi to displace the sick qi, pull the sick qi out of the patients body, and re-balance the energy. When we do this then there is no more pain. -
I didn't say Tao was above our heads. Once again, I am referring to VIBRATIONS. And yes, there most definitely is a difference in vibratory states, Higher Level versus lower level vibrational states. And the ONLY way that I know of to get to the Higher Vibratory Levels is to practice cultivation of energetics with the initial initiation of a High Level Teacher (a teacher who actually knows and can show you the difference in these states and raise your energy body vibration rate), practice and cultivate Virtue (impossible without it), practice Listening leading to Linking, find and fulfill one's Destiny, and ultimately make the choice to align oneself with these Higher Vibratory States. In lieu of the raising of the energy body vibrational rate and initiation to the Higher Level energetics by a teacher possibly one could spend an additional 10-20 years of energetic cultivation with a real qigong system without the teacher. I do not advise this.

How to avoid suffering when experiencing physical pain
Ya Mu replied to YawningMind's topic in General Discussion
I was referring to qigong practice which can help eliminate the pain. True qigong practice is always NOW. The qi goes to where the pain is and pushes sick qi out of the body. And arthritis can be helped immensely with this qigong practice as well. I have operated a pain clinic for close to 30 years and have personally dealt with pain every day, so I can say absolutely it IS a matter of perspective and non-indulgence (which probably coincides with your suffering concept). I can also say absolutely that a properly trained medical qigong healer can eliminate most but usually all pain from a person, including arthritic pain. I do this every day and teach others how to do this as well. -
How to avoid suffering when experiencing physical pain
Ya Mu replied to YawningMind's topic in General Discussion
Marblehead has the right of it with the "pain is good" as it lets us know when something is wrong. I also agree with the OP in that if it hurts to get into a certain position, try to find one that doesn't. I do not believe that we should ignore pain. I believe we should seek assistance from qualified healers to help us. Sometimes, however, it is simply a matter of perspective. I think the key is to not indulge in the pain. Here is an example of perspective: One morning I woke up in a lot of pain and couldn't seem to get past it. I HAD to take the garbage out. After I had taken the garbage down to the pickup area, all the while muttering to myself how much I hurt and why did I HAVE to take the garbage out it suddenly dawned on me that it is NOT HAVING to take the garbage out. Instead it is WOW I GET to take the garbage out. At this realization I no longer had near the intensity of pain. My suggestion is if one has pain first seek help then focus on NOW while practicing energetics. -
... The Higher State I am referring to IS being more at one with the Tao. The true Wu Wei NOW where we practice Listening and walk as one with the Tao; in this state all synchronicity Harmony occurs. I used the word "align" ourselves with the Higher vibrations. Without doing this one cannot truly walk in the Wu Wei. A person can reach a certain level with cultivation but can not go further until they have done so. It is a matter of vibration, as in without the whole being in Harmony we can't truly know our real self.

I see words like belief system, religious versus philosophical, atheism, higher power, sacred, etc. being utilized. I do not have the scholarly aspect of Taoism as my own. But what I do know is the living, breathing awe aspect of Taoism. When I first learned Taoism, not much was said about all the various aspects discussed in this thread. But what was practiced was the essence of tuning in to all that is. For the first 2 years I kept asking questions like What is this supposed to feel like? How am I supposed to feel? What is the importance, what exactly am I seeking? When I asked these type of questions or actually any questions at all my teacher always laughed at me. A few years later I laughed with him. AS far as a belief system, that it is not. As far as an experiential system, that it is. But I entirely disagree that Taoism does not lead to a Higher Level of being. Call it knowledge of Spirit or Tao or God or the Universe or what you will, if one does not arrive at the knowing of the Sacredness of the Great Mystery, the knowledge that we are interconnected, immortal Beings of Light, the knowledge of Destiny and Choice and truth of Virtue; then I say that is not true Taoism but the product of armchair philosophy derived from those who like to read and ponder. Without the practice of the energetic aspect of Taoism I believe it would be very difficult to arrive at these conclusions and I firmly believe and see that it is a simple matter of raising the energy body vibration rate, practice of Listening, aligning ourselves with the Higher Level vibrations, practice of Virtue, and Being the true self that we are. And for anyone that thinks this sounds like southern baptist, actually I was raised southern baptist. At age 9 I walked out of the church and told everyone that "this is not correct" and "I no longer wish to have anything to do with it". Without the actual practice that IS included in what some refer to as "religious Taoism", we are not finding out much by simply philosophizing about it. I just don't see that one can actually try to separate the real Tao into divisions.

I sometimes forget how dumb people are.

Can you reference this study? I have serious doubts about it. One obvious thing is did the people who did not get the surgery have puncture wounds inflicted on them? Otherwise they would absolutely know they did not have the surgery. Can't imagine anyone agreeing to that. Placebo as qi? Sure, since everything is composed of life-force energy. However, qigong healing as placebo? Yes and No. Could some forms of qigong healing that are body-mind oriented be considered placebo? Sure. If the person believes he is being healed then placebo effect can certainly be there and would be inseparable from the qi. And from the healers viewpoint that is fine. But non body-mind qi healing that works on animals eliminates this possibility. And I have had extremely positive results from a whole bunch of people who were absolutely convinced that medical qigong was the biggest bunch of bull they ever heard of.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a practitioner there? I have a student who was asked if they knew anyone there to refer a patient to.
-
Thanks. I know Roger but as he quit doing clinical work some years ago I was hoping for some direct or indirect experience with current practitioners.

Agreed! I see it as a matter of raising the energy body vibrational rate. It gets to where only certain actions/decisions feel right. They may sometimes be quite bizarre only showing the "why" later, but end up, in hind sight, as the best thing to do. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't always try to do the right thing! Practice makes for a better world.

I like this! This bears repeating. When finding and integrating our whole self and aligning ourselves to dance in the wu wei, all decisions are made NOW and with virtue/helping to gain virtue/expression of virtue. The best possible outcome for any decision IS. And all is spontaneous without preconceived input.

Cultivating Everyday, Every Minute, Ever Hour
Ya Mu replied to Lucky7Strikes's topic in General Discussion
Qigong cultivation 24 hrs a day is done by learning to dance in the Wu Wei. It is the tuning in to the energetics of the moment and staying within those energetics. When one does that and Listens/Acts he/she will always be doing the right thing in all given moments in the practice of virtue. Therefore we gain in energy and virtue. The second we lose the energy of the moment by analyzing or thinking of non-sense we will no longer be in the Wu Wei and will lose energy and can only attempt virtue for we no longer know. Basically one learns how to do this the same way you get to Carnegie Hall. One of the energy movements in Gift of the Tao II is called Walking in the Wu Wei; it helps teach this 24 hr approach. I like this. What I do is see the other person as myself, as in I and I and I. -
Interesting, he is using acoustic coupling. But I have to wonder that even though it isolates the head the wire leading to the phone is still resting on the body and the phone, in order to use the wires, is resting on the body or held in hand (unless a person is in a static environment where he could set phone away and extend wires away from body). So it could help reduce brain/head exposure but a person would still be exposed. Have you seen any conclusive research comparing bluetooth devices with phone 10 ft away to something like this? To the OP: speakerphone is going to be best with phone as far away as you can get it. The wires leading to a conventional wired headset act like an antenna. I would use the device Karen linked to if I were planning on using a wired headset; may try one!

You don't have to search the amazon to find people who can help train you to heal others with energy. There are several medical qigong programs in the USA. There are 3 that I would recommend, one of them being mine.

Any known herbs that help in gradually removing any/all meridian blockages?
Ya Mu replied to froggie's topic in General Discussion
Tumeric is a really good herb - I use it for pain syndromes. Also a great antioxidant. Also helps modulate cytokine storm reaction for flew the flu. Don't think it will open ALL channels. There are some good Chinese formulas that can help but taking Chinese herbs without a doctor is asking for trouble because they can lead to imbalance with the wrong formula. -
I agree with above. Disaster waiting to happen IMO. Orbit is fine ONCE a person develops a strong Dan Tian but not good before. Rest of stuff IMO is just something that shouldn't be practiced. Have you tried simple squats with weights? Start small weight and move up after a few weeks. You may wish to try the exercise in one of Daniel Reid's books where a person raises their arms over their head with palms facing but not touching. On the way of getting the arms up the anal sphincter muscles get locked and the tailbone tucked for a breath count. Don't remember the name of the exercise - do not try it from this description and get the book with the diagrams.

One of my students in the very first class developed the power to walk into a wall. What is a special power? Could it be that there is no such thing and that most of humanity is missing "powers" that are really natural aspects of who they really are?

Don't invert right after eating or something will come out your mouth! Most recommend movement instead of just hanging, but whatever you decide to do approach it gradually. I like rebounding qigong instead of the "bounce" you mentioned - much better on the body joints and much more effective. I practice standing Stillness-Movement on my rebounder.

Gimme a break - he started THINKING that way inititally due to a dream he had about the underworld. Real good science, eh? And you keep saying I am wrong. It is an opinion based on as much practical experience as the underworld dreamer, so just as valid. All thinking is looking through filters - none does not. Perhaps because dragons, elves, etc were real? This back and forth started because you said medical qigong utilized the archetype. Medical qigong as I teach totally bypasses the mentally derived archetypes.
-
What makes you think it is assumption? Been there done that 35 years ago! You are the one making assumptions about me not taking the time to validate it. I have - to my satisfaction - it is invalid. Now if you would use the same argument and try validating what I said, practice non-mind/burning through filters/direct energetics for 30 years and get back to me. I believe you would have a different perspective.
-
Theory does not mean IS. So "mistakenly believe" is only a mistake if the theory is correct. I disagree that this theory is correct. You like it and that is OK - But my theory is experientially derived and it is just as valid for me. I also disagree that this concept is not mentally derived. It comes from thinking. All of the energetics I practice comes direct while bypassing the mental filters. Books on Jung; Not interested in what I believe to be psychobabble. You like it - read on!

This concept which science is just now investigating is the "science" behind the DNA move in the Gift of the Tao qigong movement system and the DNA medical qigong method of Stillness-Movement, both of which are geared at re-programing of DNA which has led to mutated cells.
