I am old enough to be a trekie of the original but I also liked the "next generation" better. I believe that this movie will satisfy and IMO surpass the expectations of fans of either one.

Won't give anything away, but the casting choices are downright uncanny.

The motel listed on the flyer for West Plains, Mo has filled except for smoking rooms (yuck). Here is an alternate: Ridgecrest Plaza / 417-256-3757 2105 Porter Wagoner West Plains, Mo special rate for Medical Qigong Workshop is $47.69. This place is about 5 minutes from my school/clinic. If you want an upgrade, Best Western 4172572711 for $72.99 -
Entirely Agree! Common sense beats the heck out of anything else. I can usually see virus. Most times when projecting qi to a client I have seen the virus leave their body. Nasty! Most of the time I am entirely shielded and I easily deflect the virus. But, every now and then, if I didn't get my normal 3-4 hrs sleep and have worked on several clients, I feel the virus enter my body. It usually takes me up to 2 hrs to knock it out and it has taken up to 4 hrs to make it leave. Common sense beats having to do this every time. So, in my example, the sensible thing to do would be to not work on people when I have not had enough rest, and not work on people past a certain point.

Although I like this company's products and have their magnetic pulser, I think the claim it can cure ANY virus is a bit of an overstatement. I do agree with protocol of silver water, ozonated water and magnetic pulsing but haven't had as much results with the zapping. Not saying it has no validity. But back to the topic; any valid form of qigong should help boost immune system. But I like systems better than single approaches. I have an immune protocol that I put together that works as a system. It involves rebounding plus a DNA re-programming qigong movement that is a part of the Gift of the Tao: Vibratory Acts of Power movement system plus certain nutraceuticals, herbs, magnetic pulsing, silver water and ozonated water. If I had to pick just one of these I would say the DNA movement (can be done as medical qigong on another person by a healer). If I had to pick any two of these I would add the rebounding to the qigong.

I practice and teach a "spiral" qigong rejuvenation form. 45 minutes is as good as a 3 hr nap. Can't tell you how to do it over internet; have to go over it and over it in the workshops. Not hard to do, though.

The closest that I personally know would be near Indianapolis, In. Check with Chinese community local.

Medical Qigong Therapy is one of the best things I know that one can do for broken bones. The healing is much faster with the benefit of pain relief. Where are you located? Perhaps I may know someone in your area.

Scott, Your definition is static but the universe is dynamic. I would suggest that there is no such thing as enlightenment unless a person wished to say Enlightenment stage 1, enlightenment stage 2, on & on. Discovery through cultivation can bring a person through these stages, so can getting hit with lightning (I have done both; both are very illuminating ). Sure each stage is an experience but that particular experience, even though it has helped to define "you" as a whole, really hasn't as much meaning when reaching the next stage because each stage encompasses and supercedes the previous one. I suggest to NOT keep trying to recapture a previous experience. Also, I suggest that a perfect static definition of something that is DYNAMIC can never be. Some observations of stages which don't mean much: 1) Look at me! 2) I don't like "me" so I want to dissolve 3) Power 4) Power sucks without wisdom 4) Knowledge 6) Knowledge sucks without wisdom 7) Compassion 8) Recognizing vibratory levels are infinite 9) Knowing 9.5) Assuming responsibility 10) Helping others is worth far more than anything else 11) Linking with your Higher Level Self (yeah I know, it is not in your definition ) 12) Making choice to stay and help others or not 13) Still have to chop wood & carry water if you make choice to stay 14) 15)... Not trying to throw you off track, just some thoughts after scanning this thread. Carry on. edit: GIH - Yes I know this entirely demonstrates that I know nothing of the mind. There, I've said it so you don't have to!

There are still rooms (king size/no smoking/ fridge) available at the discount (89.90 CAD) (Checked today Sunday May 03). Also remember that the dollar listing for motel is Canadian which is approx 20% cheaper than US dollars (depends on exchange rate when you pay or book). Try the phone again 1-800-363-6400 - I had no problems getting through just a few minutes ago - be sure to specify qigong (Reference # 118628) at the Brampton Suites. You are welcome at either workshop so whatever you decide is fine. The June workshop has not yet made (minimum registration number) but I think it will. Edit: Also there will be a couple of my more advanced students at the Canadian workshop that anyone can ask questions of. One has martial arts background and one has massage therapist background. -
A Fly! Sorry, I don't think they would give much feedback, but it surely would be within the realm of possibilities. A bee may be better as it could give a good buzz. But horses, dogs and goats respond very well and do demonstrate feedback response with medical qigong treatment. When our mares were pregnant they would get where they would stand around the barn and not want to go outside in the pasture. With a 15 minute treatment they would immediately go on outside to the pasture and start grazing - this would last about 3 weeks then would have to repeat. Have seen good response with horses with hurt legs and back pain where they didn't want to be saddled - after treatment demonstrated much better response. The back pain horses would stand still and let saddle be put on showing no signs of pain. Had a goat with the equivalent of aids. He would get to where he couldn't stand up. I would do medical qigong for just a few minutes and he would get back up and do fine for about a month, then would have to repeat treatment. Dogs show immediate effect as well. But I don't publicly work on animals as I run a pain clinic for humans, these are just the animals that hang around my house.

Chinese Taoist Medicine & Stillness-Movement Medical Qigong
Ya Mu replied to Ya Mu's topic in Group Studies
Taoist Medicine and Taoist Healing Arts Simplified case studies, continued Presentation: Numbness, tingling, pain down entire arm, hands, fingers. Unable to write; they couldn't hold pen in hand with the hand trembling Therapy utilized: Taoist medicine and Taoist Healing Arts Outcome: First session, 80% resolution with all pain eliminated but still some numbness in fingers, able to write fine after this first session, follow up session resolved all but still a small "funny feeling" in tip of thumb. Anticipate that this will resolve with no more sessions needed. Presentation: Concussion with dizziness. Told client to go to a medical doctor, but client had been dropped off at clinic by a family member so we went ahead and did what we could with the understanding that they would go to see a doctor. Therapy utilized: Off body Taoist Healing Arts Outcome: Resolution of client feeling much better with all dizziness eliminated. I still told the client to go see a doctor. -

The Canadian workshop has made. There are still four positions available. I make the following offer to any Taobums that wish to attend this Canadian workshop but have been on the border of deciding; your satisfaction with the workshop guaranteed or registration fee refunded. -
Your answer to this is a question. Does your reiki work on animals as well as humans? Yes or No? see your above answer of yes or no.

I agree that a strong immune system is always good. But, if a person does get this flu, they should consider not taking immune boosting herbs. My plan or "kit" that I have includes herbs to modulate the cytokine storm. Typical immune boosting would be pro and not inhibitory. These include Salvia (Danshen) Feverfew Angelica (Dong Qui) Xanthium Tumeric with Biopiperine Omega 3 fatty acids Resveratrol Green Tea Bromelian The antivirals I have on hand include Gan Mao Ling and garlic. If infection then Isatis. Vit D (starting now as blood levels are important) But man I sure do agree with Mak Tin Si about Taoist medicine and "stop it before it happens" as that is exactly what the Taoist medicine I practice does; it sure makes sense. -
Real Studies That Document Electromagnetic Anomalies With Qigong Masters
Ya Mu replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in General Discussion
No scientific studies have I done but 3 times we have done impromptu measurements. Twice, once in a sleep lab and once with laptop software and monitoring sensors, we have measured my brain wave activity. Inside of 3 minutes of Stillness-Movement qigong I went to delta both times. The other was electromagnetic standing waves measured at one of my workshops when I was projecting. Extremely difficult to correlate but there were changes as I did different projections. Also it appeared that the standing waves took about 15-20 minutes to dampen down. What does this mean? Don't know, just is. -
This is exactly what I do with my students (even though I still don't like the word "transmission") and I like your cash machine analogy. Yes it IS difficult to put into words because the projection/encoding is non-linear and we cannot do anything but talk around non-linear events, never actually talking totally about what it really is. It is the experience itself which demonstrates the totality of the energy event. But you did a good job of linearly describing it. Also, since you mention the higher vibrational rates, I'll add to your list of everyday "transmissions". When we are around a person of higher vibrational rate we don't have to do anything at all; there is a magnetic induction effect that occurs to help raise our vibrational rate. This is why if you find a teacher of higher vibration that you like it is good to be around them as much as possible. It is also how our society can be changed. The more people who practice cultivation to raise their vibration rate the more the vibration rate of society raises. The only way I see out of our insane world for the masses is to transmute it through this process. Another thing I'll add is that, once this process has begun you will know things, if you continue to practice you can know more things. But if you quit the practice eventually not only do you forget what you know you forget that you knew.

You are certainly an amusing dude ( as in I find what you say about mind amusing). Please explain to me how the animal's mind has anything to do with this. I await your edification.
-
Qigong healing works on animals - they don't think about it. So not related to mind.
-
I don't really relate to the "transmissions" word. I do awakening qi projection to the students. This projection "lights the fire" and raises the energy body vibration rate. Usually there are profound positive changes for the student because raising the energy body vibration rate increases awareness, contributes to overall well-being, and induces calmness. Students will find that this method gives them an instant connection from which to grow through the cultivation practice. For me, I had practiced for many years before I received this type of projection. It was the difference in night and day. This IS a totally different type of qi projection than what I do in clinic for healing. I can't help but to feel uncomfortable with the word "transmission" from reading posts here.

I personally like a 5 speed transmission, although I have to admit that the newer automatic transmissions with optimized shift points are better. So it boils down to do you like optimized shifting?

I think this is a really nice thing you are doing. -
I think "support" is always the key. I do know I have witnessed many different folks with many different problems respond very positively to the practice of Stillness-Movement qigong. I think it is safe to say, in general, people who practice this form of qigong miss less sick days and do recover faster if they do contract an illness. They feel better than if they didn't practice. But I don't think any qigong is a magic bullet. Always use common sense. Health is dependent on many things. Attitude, genetics, exercise or not, diet, environmental exposure, etc. can all influence health. I teach qigong more from an awareness viewpoint and take the health benefits as a side-effect.
