  2. For all you blender lovers

Funny. Ive had the total blender for awhile now but don't use it for anything that probably couldn't be blended with a regular household blender. Mostly soft fruit and spinach or kale. But it's nice to know I can throw just about anything in there and it will blend.
  3. How many years?

Oh those are your views..that's cool. Me..I kind of think attacking a nation that posed NO immediete threat to us(Iraq) and killing thousands of innocent people kind of creates more conflict than making an internet post about how I don't support the guy that made that decision..but I guess your view has some merit too.
  4. How many years?

Yeah all that Atleast we have some glimmer of hope. The Democratic leadership doesn't look like anything spectacular but it's heading in a better direction for the planet atleast. I was using 10 years as a general # if we really got our act together and cut the BS. But from what I am hearing it sounds like there are alot of Dems that are content to follow Bush in Iraq and not calll for a total withdrawal, a gradual but solid plan to get off the oil and on to alternative fuels, address the enviormental issues, health care etc etc.
  5. How many years?

edited I respectfully disagree with your views and will be happy to see some semblence of intelligence return to the leadership of our great country. Regards, Cameron
  6. Immortality Poll

Not sure if he is alive or not or has a 'pure qi body'. Why don't you research if your interested?
  7. Happy Birthday Tao Bums!

    Happy Birthday
  8. Immortality Poll

From The Taoist Classics, The Collected Translations Of Thomas Cleary vol 3 that Lozen sent me for my birthday. This is one of the first passages I read on opening it up. "The state where "heaven is open, earth is broad, and all things are just as they are" is described in graphic detail by the nineteenth-century Completely Real Taoist master Liu I-ming. in his Awakening to the Tao, wherein he speaks of emulating heaven and earth: "If people can be open minded and magnanimous, be receptive to all, take pity on the old and the poor, assist those in peril and rescue those in trouble, give of themsevles without seeking reward, never bear grudges, look upon others and self impartially, and realize all as one, then people can be companions of heaven. If people can be flexible and yielding, humble, with self-control, free of agitation, clear of volatility, not angered by criticism, ignoring insult, docilely accepting all hardships, illnesses, and natural disasters, without anxiety or resentment when faced with danger or adversity, then people can be companions of earth. With the nobilty of heaven and the humilty of earth, one joins in with the attributes of heaven and earth and extends to eternity with them."
  9. Shrooms

I did shrooms and lsd a number of times in my early 20's. My experience is it's a rapid way to open up higher awareness but there were drawbacks. 1). The experience is temporary. After you wake up the next day(after being up all night) the experience was mostly a blur. 2). It burns jing up. Probably not a big deal if your just doing once in awhile but doing drugs every weekend for a sustained period of time=bad for qi. 3). The zen teacher John Daido Loori wrote in one of his books on the Buddhist precept of not to take intoxicants how marijuana dulls the mind and pscychadelics plaster the mind against the wall(or something like that). I distinctly remember one of the last times I was tripping on shrooms in NY thinking about Loori's book that said shrooms plaster the mind against the wall..and basically agreeing. But I won't lie to you..besides those drawbacks the experience was amazing at times. A deep sense of connection with life and almost violent level of openness. Like your chakras being blown open against your will. But probably that is due to poor planning. If your around people you really like or love I think the experience is much nicer. I doubt I would be interested in tripping anymore since I am sure the same states and much higher can be achieved through meditation(and grounded in every day reality..not a far off experience that becomes a memory) But I did sample all those drugs and had some crazy times. Funny your in your 40's with kids debating doing these things. What were you doing in the 70's and 80's being a "square" or something? hehe.
  10. Good Day!

Kieth(Trunk) is being shy. He has been praying for a Dr of chinese medicine to come on board and give insight into our practices for..well....forever. Robert Kienitz is Professor Emeritus and former Dean of Curriculum at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is former Director of Clinical Medicine at the Stone Pointe Institute in Mesa, Arizona. And as a resident of Scottsdale I give you a hearty welcome! I'll keep your(former?) school in mind if I decide to go for acupuncture training. Cameron
  11. Reptillian Chocolate

I am ok with Reptillians dressing up as humans in a sort of long term Halloween party and controlling the government but just found out that they have infilltrated the chocalate business. This makes me angry. I am taking out my samurai sword and will be dealing with it personally. The Dinosaur wannabees have gone too far.
  12. Reptillian Chocolate

Yoda..wasn't I supposed to kill you if you said anything? Will have to see what 33rd degree mason serpent overlord commander has to say if he hasn't already left for Sirius star system(Where dolphins are from originally). *sips alien tea*
  13. Reptillian Chocolate

Most of our rugs are made in China and India. Thanks for the classy comment.
  14. Yoga

I prefer qigong but this appears to be a top notch practice!
  15. Yoga

This was mainly meant as a joke. Yoga of course has the sacred dimension and I know some pracitioners into the more spiritual side of it. It's way down on my to do list of stuff to check out. I'll get to it though.
  16. Debt consolidation? Anyone?

Have you not been listening to Max? Come 2012 we are out of here! Why bother paying off debts? Seriously though..listen to Kieth..if there is a solid, responsible guy on this board I think it's him.

  18. Reptillian Chocolate

If I had the power to shapeshift do you think I would be home writing a paper on statistics and talking to you two comedians while drinking a strawberry frappuccino? *plays it off and tells mothership to put extra surveillance on Plato and Michael*
  19. You gotta see this video...

Wait..so the cartoon GI Joe is real? Is Chaney Cobra commander or Serpentor or maybe more like the chameleon Zartan?

  23. Tao is Crap without Qi

It's a deep question. I think I remember Ken Cohen saying all real qigong masters focus on Yi and not Qi. Yi(awareness, or however you may translate it) is the focus and Qi(life energy) is the by product. This makes sense because in most qigong forms your really getting into the awareness aspect of the practice. Going through different movements and postures or just holding postures. So, I would say the most important thing in Taoist study is Yi and the cultivation of awareness and Qi is the natural by product that flows from proper cultivation of Yi. But Ime open to other points of view on this.
  24. These are deep questions I hesitate to respond out of my own lack of understanding. 'I think' from a practitioners/practical point of view you need to experience the vast spaciousness and openess for yourself deeply before you can really have an opinion or perspective of these things. If you havent had a deep experience of spaciousness and vast being it's just intellectual understanding. And, it might be a karmic thing, but for me the experience of vast being and space seems to be accompanied by a tremendous fear. Like the ego is slowly losing control of it's tight clutch and holding on to it's way of knowledge. Because the raw, honest truth is we don't really know. To experience this in every moment is hard, hard, hard. Much easier to say ok..that infinite nothingness is there..but I need to walk around defining and measuring things in order to run my life. Otherwise..I don't know..it's sooo much. I think to really experience awakening and know these things for oneself(not intelectually) is saying bye bye to knowledge. But we love and cherish our knowledge. So I think the Taoist practices offer a kind of nice meeting ground or way to navigate the inifinte being with our ego self that wants to define, measure, know stuff. Maybe Ime not ready for this raw state of being that doesn't need to define but am also not wanting to live from the state of ego knowing. So practices like inner smile become a nice bridge to harmonize and balance out all these different dimensions of self. That might have had nothing to do with your post
