Hi Matt, I do ZZ and aikido. I think zz training is an awesome complementary practice to aikido and develops internal power and relaxation. As far as breathing, I don't control it. I do natural or abdominal breathing. inhale, abdomen expands, exhale abdomen contracts. Same breathing as in zazen or the way a baby breathes..naturally. From what I understand from Ken Cohen, Wang Zhang Xai taught different methods to different students and yiquan does have a system of sparring. For internal power development, I think it would be best to get with an authentic internal MA teacher who has developed those things. Otherwise your just guessing. Cam

I was never really drawn to Saotome though I respect him for sure. If I could pick anyone in Aikido to study with it would be the guy who just moved to my town. Gonna see my doc here shortly if everything checks out ok hopefully I'll be back on the mat soon.

Cool clip of two Gracies rolling.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me. I think Sean might be getting into ego/control freak mode not allowing your butterflies. The wolves are pretty cool though.

Bodyweight training goes beyond Furey but he was the guy that made me aware of them. Since then I have checked out DVD's from Indian wrestlers and Gotch himself doing the excercises. But Furey's stuff still explains how to do the excercises best. I havent really checked out much of his stuff beyond the bodyweight training though. And you can find probably most of it online. Yeah, the mma community doesn't think highly of him but who cares. It's the information that is most important.

Sorry man, I had to go with naaa , not now. I just ate dinner with my Dad and ate Gormeh Sabzi(persian rice with chunks of beef and stuff) in front of him(I usually eat veggie with him out of respect for his ways). I have no desire to do 100% raw but support your experiments(though doubtful it will last..sorry, dude). Cam

standing meditation is great. My main qigong practice. Do you do embrace the tree only or move through different postures?

My favorites so far(I havent tried all of them) are Supreme Protector, Tonic Alchemy, Tao in a Bottle, Dragon Jing and Super Adaptogen. But Ime working with an herbalist now and mostly taking what she gives me. Though she thinks highly of the dragonherbs I think(as adaptogens and for energy).

I havent tried it but Dragonherbs has a product called Tom Kat that is supposed to be very good. Tom Kat

Okay Shieky, now I think Joe Rogan is cool...
Cameron replied to SheepishLord's topic in The Rabbit Hole
yeah he gets that fromthis Terrence McCenna guy I think who is dead but wrote a book about it. I think he says the Mayan prophecy about Dec 2012 being the end of time or whatever really means thats when they discover time travel and just like you said basically creates this loop connecting all time together from here to infinity. My guess is he's doing too many drugs but I guess we will find out relatively shortly. Cam -
From what I understand "The Bull" is a metaphor for your mind. Cam

Okay Shieky, now I think Joe Rogan is cool...

I met him a couple years ago. Really laid back nice guy. I told him I think he does a good job on UFC and he goes thanks and my Dad was talking to him but Joe was drunk or stoned. My Dad goes Rogan is so toxic with all kinds of garbage in his system and is probably on drugs. Me with my Dad and Joe Rogan..he has no clue who Joe Rogan is so it was a surreal experience. I asked Kyle(Yoda) if he wanted to see Rogan's stand up show at the Improv when he visited a few months ago but Kyle wasn't into it. I was sort of disappointed because I thought it would have been cool to go to the show and maybe take some pictures with Joe and Yoda but Yoda was doing bigger and better things with his Dad(who was being honored or something). P-I prefer to think of it as being respectful of two people I do genuinely like and have gotten alot of cool tricks from. In any case Ime sure either of them can kick either of our asses.

pretty cool. http://www.tenthdimension.com/flash2.php

Man, I was trying to respond to this again but I have benifitted from Furey's stuff and I have beniffitted from Scott's stuff and prefer to just leave it at that.

People have to have some sense of peace, love, harmony in there life first. I don't have any clue what life is like for a terrorits so it's almost impossible for me to try to figure out how someone who has gone through what a terrorist has gone through to get them to where they are at to do what they want to do. Same goes for the billionaire tycoons of the world. I really have no way of saying what is right or wrong from that vantage point. You have to just start locally and cultivate peace in yourself and with friends, nieghbors. The emperor of the world concept would never work because again you would be forcing people to do something against there will that they want to do. Best thing you can do is cultivate peace within yourself and community, then maybe one day you will have an effect on one child who would have grown up to be a terrorist or killer but your sense of peace or love had an effect on them to change the decisions they make in life. War is definetly not the answer. And Ime not sold on the whole premise of terrorism to begin with. Look who's profitting from these wars. What if WE are the real terrorists. If our government is behind all this like some people beleive it sort of puts a different spin on it doesn't it. The hardest thing is just to clear the fog and figure out the truth behind all the lies. That by itself would solve so many problems but our govenrmnt is dishonest and can't really be trusted so where do you even start? Just locally in your own communities. Then if everyone started to do that problems would start to solve themselves from within. Cam

Yeah, I would probably pick Furey over Scott in a grappling match or maybe even in MMA but Furey probably outweights Scott by like 50 lbs. Not really fair In any case Fedor is the hallmark MMA fighter. He is good at everything. I don't think Tito has ever submitted anyone in MMA and mostly relies on his wrestling. So put Tito against Fedor or whatever and those sambo skills start to really stand out. Not to mention his natural talents. The fight of the year will be Chuck vs. Wand if it goes down. OMG that will be so awesome.

Not necissarily. There is a new generation of young Gracies that could do really well in MMA. As far as the older generation yeah I don't see any of them beating Fedor or anything. Also, probably the next UFC heavyweight champ, Jeff Monson, is a genetic freak with BJJ/Submission skills. All things being equal when a monster like him fights another monster like Tim Sylvia or whatever those BJJ/Submission skills are what will win the fight. And that's still basically the Gracies legacy and will still be conencted with them. Roger Gracie is the young Gracie champion now it would be interesting to see how he would do in UFC or Pride. I think he would do well but ultimatly your right hes not beating Wanderlei or Chuck with Gracie JJ.

Obsession: What the War on Terror Is Really About
Cameron replied to Lozen's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Ime thinking it might be a little inappropriate to have our BJJ, excercise and hottie pics under the thread about a deep discussion on war. Maybe Sean would be kind enough to split the last part off to a TUF Season 4 discussion thread.(where Max and I can gossip like teenage girls about the different fighters) Cam
