Yoda, don't you think flowfit is the better introduction to bodyflow then straight bodyflow tapes? Doesnt' Scott now call the bodyflow stuff Prasara? Doesn't he say you should first "clean the slate" with intu flow or WW before Body flow/Prasara? Just trying to make sense if it all. Ok, time for some simple kettlebell snatches.

Some months ago I read a post where Sean mentioned he liked this teacher called Adyashanti. The same moment I read the post I happened to have just grabbed the new Sounds True catolog in the mail and the front cover was an ad for Adya's retreat on cd. Pretty much since then Sean and I have talked about me coming up for an Adya retreat and also to hang out. His actual 5 day retreats are completely booked over a year in advance and the only way in is through a lottery system but Adya is doing a 2 day intensive called "Enlightenment:The Direct Approach" in late June. Sean and I already have tickets and I thought it might potentially be a cool opportunity for some of us to also hang out and see an amazing teacher together. Sean has graciously offered to let whoever wants to come to crash at his place. You would probably need to bring sleeping bag and obviously get a plane ticket. Of course, I don't even know if anyone is interested but if you are let Sean know. Also a nice opportunity to meet thetaobums MC! Cam Oh, and the link http://www.adyashanti.org/index.php?file=i...nts&eventid=158

Have you checked out his retreat on CD from Sounds True? It's excellent.

I actually tried to meditate several times while tripping. I literally felt compelled to sit down and just watch all the crazy visuals happening. It was interesting but I prefer just having some green tea instead these days ps. And yes if you eat a bag of shrooms and realize an hour in you don't really want to trip and your hanging out with people you barely know and you find annoying..can you say hell?

I suppose. I would have a hard time ever really reccomending them to anyone. I think they are dangerous even though I explored them as a teenager and in my early 20's. But quite a few well known people may have never even explored any of this stuff farther had they not had those drug experiences. The last time I tripped, maybe 7 or 8 years ago, I experienced the connection with the universe so profoundly. I was staring up into the stars and felt my mind envelop distant galaxies. The energies I found in space were unimaginably beautiful and such a high vibration. I probably couldn't walk around like that in everyday life. I think spiritual practice, meditation connecting with teachers etc sort of help to connect with "all that" along with grounding you in everyday reality(hopefully). Anyway, I am still just scratching the surface of it all.

The thing is I really like Scott and think his stuff is so cool. I was doing a nice kettlebell followed buy clubbell workout today and really enjoy all his mobilty stuff too. Why do some of these guys(Furey, Scott) put out such awesome products and then go off the deep end? Matt with his sex course and now Chinese long life course and Scott doing an rmax qigong course. Maybe they aregood courses so I don't want to take the position of being judgmental. I am sure one of us will buy the rmax qigong dvd as well as the rmax internal martial arts dvd and give us the scoop when it comes out. And that someone is Kyle"Yoda" Bairdsen

First my "little buddy" gets tapped out on TUF and then Max's country man Arlovski gets TKO'd and loses his title. Atleast kicking my Dad's ass at tennis tonight should make me feel better...

nada...I'll put it up if I find it later..

Check out Scott's DVD Flowfit.

I always say he was good but not even close to Fedor. Fedor is the best heavyweight in MMA by far he would tool Sylvia.

My experience with them is they are a doorway but once you open the door you have to get on a spiritual path to go farther. They give you a glimpse, but the next day that glimpse is gone and you are just left with a WTF? feeling. Also, I suspect long term use leads to health problems. My highest experience with them were almost identical to my mind opening through Zen but the zen experience has no negatives just positive while phychadelics have both(IMO). Probably for alot of people taking a hit of acid or some shroom tea is easier than doing zazen for years or whatever. But the zazen for years(or perhaps other practices) lead to longer lasting personality transformations and mind body transfomration. IMO and in my limited experience and all..

What I really liked about Dragondoor is you have an authentic qigong guy who studied the classical systems for decades(John Du Cane) and this awesome fitness teacher in Pavel. They each stick to there respective fields of expertise and if someone asks Pavel about qigong he says ask John if someone asks John about conditioning he says ask Pavel. You don't culitvate your qi with kettlebell swings and you don't lose wieght and improve your cardio with the animal frolics. Every practice has unique benefits pros and cons which is why other practices are useful. Scott's stuff is great and I am sure intuflow and flowfit will be part of my program for a long time but I don't know about this stuff. Maybe someone should trademark the word qigong like Scott trademarked the word "The Path"? All in all, I don't mind it he still makes a great contribution to the physical culture scene but I would leave qigong to the real qigong teachers and conditioning(including mobilty, stretching, strength, endurance) to guys like Pavel and Scott. It's not enough being one of the coolest trainers out you need to start trying to compete with ancient systems of health(IMO)?

Watt's was a giant and apparently got the ball rolling for alot of well known Tao people.

I am out of this guy's market and had to hear this. Spent $6 for a month membership. Not sure if this will work or not but heres the link. Plato it says Dana White and Matt hughes are on the same show. Did you get to meet them? http://www.mancow.com/site/rd?satype=2&url...ncow_041406.mp3

Ok I heard Dana but no Plato..

I will practice walking meditation from Yiquan sometimes after standing mediitation. Cohen says it helps circulate qi. This would probably be especially important for monks who do zazen all day to keep circulation good. IMO anything can be a doorway to samadhi or enlightenment it's not so much what you are doing but where the mind is at. I am no authority on the subject but that is my take on things at the moment.

Most zen pracititoners do walking meditation between rounds of sitting. You either walk very slowly(Soto) or very fast(Rinzai) around the room for a few minutes. Basically walking zazen.

He's young. Couple years of BJJ and he can be in UFC. That was a sick armbar though. That's where you can see the big difference in experience and skill if Fedor was in Jessie's position he would have destoroyed that guy and no chance he ever gets caught like that.

How uncivilized. *sips tea and prepares for zazen*

My understanding of it is quite limited but I remember Bodri saying how there are different stages you go through in emptiness meditation. For example, and I have been going through this myself last few days, when you practice regularly and do retention then alot of qi starts to come up and at first it's like it is very volitile. For example, someone says something at work that you generally would let slide by but you instead go off on them with all this qi and realize later it was probably unnessary. My guess is as you continue with meditation(maybe might take years) you everntuially start to smooth out all the qi instead of it running wildly through your system opening up channels. When the qi is smoothed out and your channels are opened up then the jing transforms to qi and shen. atleast that's how I rememebr Bodri explains it. Max or Plato might have more to say on that. Also, I have written about it before but I get alot of benifit from Tao in a Bottle product from dragonherbs. it is a 'shen stabilizer' and if I am feeling to much qi or just generally moody it usually does the trick to help balance that out.
