So What does Tao say about attachment/desire
Cameron replied to taowanderer's topic in Daoist Discussion
I live in Beijing. Prior to that I was in Korea for 2 1/2 years. I will be in China for atleast 1 year. Perhaps longer if I really like it. How did you find living on Wudang Shan? -
Pavel is the man! RKC training is one of my favorite practices. A great excercise system.

Hi Wuji, Nice to see you on Taobums I don't know if you remember me we met in Georgia a few years ago. Right before you were moving to Wudang Shan. I also briefly met your teacher there. Very bright and positive energy he had. Are you still in China? I just moved here a month ago. Best, Cameron -
I have been training regularly with Kettlebells for awhile. They rock for core training.

Nice. My first month in Beijing I have liked it alot! The air is smoggy as hell no doubt. But I have met some really cool people. I actually prefer that there is the foriegnor element along with Chinese that speak English. Don't think it is going to be an overnight thing or even something I could do in a year to learn Chinese. It will be a process. I also like that it's close to the Great Wall and will probably hike that alot. Going to check out the Brazillian Ji Jitsu School here in Beijing tonight

Ahhh he has a good heart. I am sure he means no harm by having guns. I bought my ticket for Xian. I can't wait to see Hua Shan. I'll take some pictures! I spoke with Max today and he suggested I check out Maoshan in Kwangshi province. So that's also on my list! ps. I won't post very often but if any Bums visit China shoot me a message!

Cheers hagar:)

Good to see he is doing well and connected to a lineage he likes. Probably not going to the Shaolin Temple on this trip. But I am visiting Hua Shan next week Does anyone who has visited Hua Shan have any tips? I am going for a weekend.

I am glad to see my post may have been helpful to some of you. My intention is just to share some of my own experience and cast some light on things. Max remains very accessible still and if your genuinely interested I would say forget about wasting time on these discussions and just make the effort to see him. If you have so many doubts about studying Kunlun then maybe that would be a sign that it isn't the right practice for you. In any case, to summarize my view-great teacher, great practitioners in the lineage. If your not ready to take responsibilty for yourself and experience more of who you really are don't waste your own or the teachers time. Aloha!

Thanks guys, Well, I am more grounded for one thing. Kunlun is a practice that can very quickly open up your higher centers. But you want to make sure to keep your body/mind connection always well balanced and integrated. Probably a good reason traditionally Taoists would do lots and lots of body practices to balance the meditation/alchemy stuff. It's like driving a car. Another practice might just get the acceleration going a little when you push on it. When I push on Kunlun it goes 0 to 60 very quick So it's like someone learning a martial art or new sport or something. You need to gauge how much practice is required. For some people doing it 5 days a week every night might bo ok. For others maybe once month is enough! The Red Phoenix seems to keep moving into deeper channels and keeps opening things up. Lately I have been feeling it very deeply in the tan tiens. It's a very different feeling than building qi up as in the traditional qigong model. With Kunlun it's like you tap into these portals inside your tan tiens and just open up the flood gatesof energy(friends of mine like joeblast can probably explain better). You tap into this frequency-what I remember Max calling "one law" I think. And just keep letting go. I feel lighter, more fresh, more clarity after every Kunlun practice. If you listen to the interview of Kan San on http://www.primordialalchemist.com/ He gives a good explanation of some of the deeper feelings you can experience. As well as some insight into the state of being of a high level practitioner. I am still just taking off the training wheels

I had my issues like we all do. But I am confident Kunlun is a good practice. That doesn't mean it's a good practice for everyone. I just don't buy the idea that the lineage is dark per se, as some people seem to suggest. imo, it is a quick path to awakening but you still have to do your own work. Just because you have some realization doesn't mean there arent still years of practice and well-just living life- that is necissary to mature and develop ones understanding. In any case, follow your heart to what is right for you.

Nice, I'll try to visit Huashan. Not sure if I can resist skipping the Terra Cotta warriors though. Also, I heard that the Shaolin Temple is close to Luoyang? Wild I thought I was just visiting my friend and am finding out these areas are serious cultivation Meccas. I dropped into IMA class. Was pretty cool. Really nice teachers. But I think I will stick with hiking Chinese mountains for now. Ni Hao!

Taomeow! I am visiting my friend in Xi'an next month Is there anything there in particular you would reccommend checking out? After that I think I am going to Luoyang(sp?) Beijing, Xi'an, Luoyang and Nanjing are the 4 ancient capitals I think. Anyway, I hope Yoda is doing well. I still do Kunlun, powerful as it ever was!

The Kunlun system as it's core has two main practices: Red Phoenix and Kunlun. These are both very simple and easy to learn. What really gets the path going though is direct study with the teacher. My understanding is you need to see Max once then your all set. Personally, I saw him more then once and found that was also beneficial. He is a fun teacher and always amazing to be around:) -
That's me Still enjoying myself in South Korea. I have become quite an avid hiker here and hike Korean mountains almost every weekend. I think spending time out in nature along with whatever qigong or meditation practice your doing is really important. So yeah, I am still a Kunlun practitioner. But I don't really like to say what's the right path for anyone else. You just try different things out and see what works for you. I had a life changing experience from my very first time meeting Max and that path continues to unfold on it's own. Jenny is great too. And of course Kan from Japan if your interested in Kunlun and ever have a chance to see him do it! I don't have anything else to say here just wanted to add my small part. Cam

Hello Been over 3 years of practice of Kunlun. I still love the system and consider it as a great gift in my life. It's such a simple and effortless path but never suprises me how powerful it is. Just keep letting go and smiling!

I hope everything is well with you all. This odd mix of Taoists and Buddhists hanging out somewhere in cyberspace sharing with eachother or arguing Just wanted to share with you all what I have been up to in Korea. I have been having a great time teaching and enjoying Korean culture. The food and people are alot of fun. I also have been training a little at the 6th Patriarch Zen Temple in Seoul with Master Sunim. I really respect Buddhist wisdom alot. Though my primary practice remains Kunlun. I am going to Hawaii in a couple weeks to train with Sifu Max. The questions and conversations here can continue for a long time so I feel I made the right decision in no longer posting here. It's nothing personal but seems to be the natural progession of things for me. I don't want to add to the confusion or suffering of anyone. Especially those who are genuinely interested in the spiritual path or awakening. Taobums Webmaster Sean has threatened to come to Korea so will see Maybe have some fun with my Taoist Bums brother. Anyway, it seems the "Kunlun debates" are still going strong! Let me know if there is anything pressing you would like for me to ask Max. And only if you are sincere please. I think sincerity is something important to work on. Best wishes, Cameron

Master Nan & Bill Bodri - circulation being a waste of time
Cameron replied to nomad's topic in General Discussion
Are you referring to myself or is there another Cameron here? If so I am a he. Zen Master Sunim who I sat with last weekend combines Zen and Sundo training. So there is a nice mixing of the mind and body stuff with him. Though Kunlun is my main practice. I also practice the standing forms Max teaches which really help to ground the mind into the body. Cam
