Master Chen 3 week Taoist retreat to China
Cameron replied to Cameron's topic in Systems and Teachers of
Chen is a good teacher. I enjoyed meeting him. I looked into some of his meditation stuff but prefer what I learned from Max and Jenny. But from spending a little time with one if his students in Atlanta who moved to Wudang Mountain I could definetly tell his students were getting alot out of studying with him. -
I have my copy here. It was $29.95. edit-looks like they raised the price of the color version $10. So basically it's $40. It's hard for me to have perspective on a beginner questioning whether it's worth paying or not. I pretty much have made Kunlun my main practice so obviously the $40 book and $300 seminar have been more then worthwhile. I guess it depends on how your looking at it. If your justkind of curious and planning on adding the book to your "spiritual practice or qigong books collection" then yes, maybe you could get something less expensive. But if your looking at it like your learning a powerful and simple Taoist practice that could possibly lead you to awakening. Then that $340 is pretty much a steal. I tend to feel more towards the latter about Kunlun so kind of silly to talk about rounding nickels

One of the keys I think is letting things flow. Usually moments where I find tension or stress arise in the body is when I am not allowing the experience to just flow as it is. That might be a business situation or when communicating with friends or family. When you can relax and allow things to flow they sort of find there own answers. Rather then "you" trying to figure things out or trying to figure out the solution to a certain problem that arises. Let the situation flow and see what insights or understandings naturally come to you. Basic stuff like the inner smile practice and following your breath might be helpful with this.

They have charged $300 even for the weekend seminar since the getgo. I seriously doubt there was much marketing strategy by Chris for the book price. Like Joeblast mentioned they make very little on the book. I think Chris even gave us the amount they make on each book sale once and it wasn't much. The seminar is where you could say they make money but from what I have experienced and seen other's experience it's a very good exchange.

At first I gained weight. It was a process of getting used to the energy. I needed to eat alot of food-especially lots of meat-to help ground. After about 6 months or so my system started to get used to it. Now it's not a problem at all and I am getting back in shape again. Oh, and do the people who say they gained weight mentioned it might be from being lazy and not excercising as much after they start Kunlun It's a practice for healing and awakening. Not conditioning. You still need to excercise! Sifu Jenny-who taught Max the practice is in great shape and does lots of martial arts along with Kunlun. Cam

Won't comment on if you should go or not. But the universe certainly seems to be setting it up that way isn't it? I felt that way with Max on several occasions. Good luck making your decision.

Here are some clips of Robert Nadeau Shihan. An excellent Aikido teacher Sean and I checked out when I visited San Fransisco a few years ago. WObuWJqy9Ag CUyQ_E5N2KQ&feature G7WblvVQPF0&feature

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 50%. Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 50%. According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is... CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

Nice. I'll go with that. Appreciation.

Master Chen 3 week Taoist retreat to China

I enjoyed meeting him in Atlanta. I can't comment about who is or isn't enlightened as I don't know. But he did have a nice presence. -
Well good luck with making a good choice then

This is a big debate in Advaita circles. Ask August Leo about the choice thing he has some interesting things to say. In any case, if you don't have good vibes about Kunlun. Good God just go do something else. Despite what a few people here say we really are fine with you not doing Kunlun at all. It isn't a cult. What kind of a cult leader tells you you are your own best teacher and you only really need to see him once? People are such drama queens.

I didn't ask her teacher's name. She is still doing research into the lineage. She is also writing a book of her own. Really? I don't think that's accurate. Maybe 90% positive and 10% negative My main issue after seeing Max was grounding. This isn't an issue any more. I think in my case it just took some time for my body to adjust. And seeing Jenny did help. That's why in yor case, with all of your doubts coming up and feelings of uncertainty I have reccommended to you to see Jenny. If you want to take my advice, practice something else for awhile, relax and enjoy life and when/if she does another seminar sign up. Otherwise I don't really know what else you want from people here. Good luck

Freeform cuts through all the bs once again.

Sorry man. I meant since you have actual, personal training in Maoshan it would be a waste of time for me to talk about it with you. You would need to ask her about it. You can post anywhere and as much as you like of course.
-
Really? I only know of one who did the workshop who had problems. I haven't heard much negative from anyone else. Only positive things. I am not counting people on Taobums who have never met Max or Jenny yet feel they are in the position to be critical. I don't defend Kunlun. It's a spiritual practice. What is there to defend?

Sifu Max(Kunlun) is doing a Europe tour shortly. You can check out his schedule of cities on Kunlunbliss.com His workshops focus primarily on two practices that are very powerful. Another option Jette is in Europe. Not sure if it's Denmark but it might be. She teaches in Master Wang Liping's Dragon Gate lineage. You can ask Joeblast who posts here about her(or Kunlun for that matter) http://www.chikungskolen.dk/english/about_the_teacher.htm

Like how you felt on Christmas morning as a kid only for no apparent reason Energetically it feels like a profound joyful feeling that seemes to emerge from the tan tiens. It's empty or rather the space the feeling comes from feels empty but full of energy. The sense of a deep harmony and connection existing between "inside" and "outside" is also there. Like the old metaphor, feeling like a drop of water in the ocean. Connected, loving. I had similar feelings with standing meditation and zazen which I did for years. But Kunlun practice feels more amplified. Like you just can't fight the feeling or make it go away. There is also a powerful magnetic aspect to it. But the main thing that has arisen in my spontaneous Kunlun practice since seeing Jenny is much greater feeling of connection with the feminine aspect.

Hey SpiritTao, Those are really questions you should adress to Jenny in person if you see her. Or you might try and email her and explain your backround. I think it would be better if the Kunlun questions stop here and definetly stop on this thread. It is Spectrum's thread about Spontaneous Movement after all. I think the videos he has put up here are great. That last one with the old man is a blast! Cam

I feel Kunlun most all of the time. But it's mostly internal. When I sit down to practice after seeing Jenny my movements have opened up alot. Best wishes to everyone

Sifu Jenny told me her teacher in China is Maoshan. She is still researching the practice herself. she is a Scholar so isn't going to say much without doing alot of homework first. Cam

Max is outside the box. That it is what I said the first time I met him and that's what I still say. I have nothing negative to say about Max. I think he is a really amazing person who has had amazing experiences. The bottom line is it's the practice that is most important. Yes, most all of my friends who have done the Max workshop feel they benefitted from the transmission. But practice is the key. Good luck

If hearing about those sorts of things bothers you I would consider seeing Sifu Jenny or just practicing from the book forawhile until she does another seminar. It's sort of part of who Max is. The Taobums who have taken his workshops pretty much embraced Max even with all the peculiarities. I look at it as a sign of open mindedness. It's not like they buy it but they can listen to stories of Max and say "Hey..it's a big universe and you know who knows". You will get none of that with Jenny. She is 100% Taoist/Buddhist/Advaita in her teaching, she is a scholar etc. I myself look at all that stuff like another fun or interesting take on reality. But after having experiences with some-not many at all but a very, very few-Kunlun students who were bothered by that stuff if it's really an issue you should respect that. Also, I think that may have been mostly something at the early workshops or something. Because at the last Level 1 workshop I went to Max didn't say anything about "et's". He spoke more about his experiences with "verifiable" teachings like Native American teachers of his. Cam
