Hi YM, I am a beginner at these practices. I am not Maoshan Pai initiate or a Taoist scholar. My experience with the practices has been enough to basically trust what Max says. If he says he studied with a Maoshan Master for 29 years I am inclined to believe him. Your entitled to your own views of course. If you question his honesty and integrity that's your right.
-
It's pointless to argue about whether you think Max's teacher was really an authentic Maoshan Master or not. I had a discussion with a fellow Kunlun pracitioner recently that made it pretty simple. All of the people who diss Max here have never met him in person. If they had, my guess is they would be backpeddling.

Awesome review. Yes, the feeling of being "plugged in" rather than building up energy seems to be a trademark of Max's system. How about the 5 element standing and Gold Flower mudra? Had you seen those before? Cam

No, I don't think he should be banned. In a way you should thank him, he is laying out his cards right from the beginning. Imagine if you bought his products and practiced his system for a few years only then to here this stuff.

I play with Level two but haven't started to really practice it yet. I was thinking of starting it lately. Though Max said you don't really need level two and for most people level one is enough. I tend to think level one for awhile longer(or indefinetly)is what I will do.

I wasn't able to do standing practices for about two months after I got my first transmission from Max. After that I slowly started doing I Jong for about 4 months. Then I began doing 5 element standing about 8 months after my first workshop. But even then occasionally Kunlun would kick in while I did 5E. After a year I can hold standing postures and not activate Kunlun. Well, atleast I can keep still enough to practice standing. In addition to other excercises. So, not sure if that's helpful, but it took me about a year to really be able to intergrate Kunlun energy with my other practices.

I don't think Smile feels comfortable sharing it. I wouldn't explain it without his permission. imo you shouldn't worry about it. The way Max teaches works.

Smile showed me the version he learned in Russia. It's similar to Kunlun but a little different. Nothing to do with Red Phoenix.

Hi Sergei, I live in Atlanta. I have been following the Max/Kunlun path for the last year. I am sure you will here about it if you stick around here. Regarding your interests. 1. A direct student of Wang Liping lives here in Atlanta. She doesn't really post here much but has known Master Wang for a long time. I am planning on getting together with her sometime to chat. 2. Wudang Taoist Master Chen comes here often and has students here. You can look up his schedule at Wudangtao.com 3. Max(Lama Dorje)teaches a powerful system that you can learn in a workshop. You can find out more on here or Kunlunbliss.com

I agree too much too soon could be a problem. If you never did qigong before and start doing standing meditation and big draws for 2 hours a day all of a sudden your not giving your system much time to acclimate. Basically...don't force things. Take your time.

The main thing I got is to be very gentle and relaxed with the practice. Obviously, we can't talk about specifics here. But for people who know and over there you can. Also, if you read my jounral on KF I have spoken about my experiences with RP.

Ooooooo flashback. Cat I made a whole big thread about this on the Kunlun Board I think Max updated the way he teaches to include more grounding practices. That was my sense of the last workshop I saw him. You have to understand from what I went through I think I was a pretty unique case. I didn't sleep for almost two months after meeting Max. I had never experienced anything remotely like that and yes it was a little frightening at times. But now I sleep normal hours and have had a year to process stuff. Red Phoenix is good stuff but you need to work on opening up the lower tan tien with alot of grounding stuff along with it. Max's approach is to give you all the methods and the transmission and let you unpack it yourself. It seems to work well for most people. Many people have had what sounds like powerful awakenings from Red Phoenix. Cam

I am planning on moving to South Korea to teach in about a month. I contacted Lin about his teaching position. You can make alot more teaching in South Korea. I also looked into Japan but the cost of living is higher there. South Korea is pretty centrally located so catching a flight to China or Japan on holidays might be an option. Cam

I don't remember feeling much while he was touching me. But afterwards the feeling was dramatic. Beyond my abilty to explain really. Feeling I was tapped into something very deep and profound. And still is unfolding. But beyond my abilty to communicate with words.
-
The main points he touched were my crown, 3rd eye and ming men. I believe he also works on you while practicing without physical touch.
-
It's a very simple practice. Yes, to open the niwan. Central Channel and Dan Tian breathing are both important. Max teaches different practices that work on these.

So I was walking around the Atlanta Zoo today with my sister and her baby and while surrouded by all these animals and kids and parents having fun realized this whole path really comes down to surrender. Chris added a chapter on this in the new Kunlun book. What do you all feel about this? Is there anything that can be said? It seems to me all these words and concepts ultimately fail and all that is left is you, your practice and the rest of the universe. And all that is to be done is surrender and let go. I was strongly headed on that path before I started Kunlun with a couple of advaita teachers, Adyashanti and Jeannie Zandi. But Kunlun seems to embody the essence of "spirituality"(I don't really like that word) in that it is ALL about surrender. So elegantly simple anyone can learn to do it in 10 seconds. But surrendering and letting go, trusting the Tao, though simple is also so challenging. Maybe that's the real challenge, to be able to really surrender, be joyful and loving within the midst of chaos, confusion, anger, hatred. Easy to say hard to do. How do you all view the "S" word?

What about Anubis? While we are at it what's up with Ra? What's you interpretation of the eye of Ra?

I know very little about GDB myself. The person who told me about Max had said he had attained rainbow body level which of course I had heard of being a high(highest?) level attainment in Tibetan Buddhism. But when I met Max he told me his system can give the GDB. From peoples arms disappearing and such it sounds like with the Kunlun practice you raise your vibration to a level where you go up to the next level. Would like to hear more myself but so far it seems Max and company really want people to have their own experience rather than for them to spell it out for us. I am waiting for someone on Taobums to attain this level and then post about it

I think in the east "dragon" is also a term used for a wise being, a sage or enlightened being. They have dragon symbols all over the place supposed to be symbols of wisdom and good luck. So it's not necissarilly a reference to "shapeshifting reptillians".

Yes, it's an interesting question. I don't know if Chris is still going to answer all these questions or not but maybe he can answer. I wish I could compare practice without transmission and with but I only practiced Kunlun before I met Max for about a week. The best thing would be to ask people here who practiced for awhile from the book before doing the workshop because they can compare the two. Off the top of my head Joeblast, Yoda and Smile come to mind.

You know Kunlun is part of Max's system and the other part is another practice from Maoshan Taoism that isn't in the book, right? You will probably learn other practices from Jenny that you wouldn't learn from Max and am sure her worshop will be awesome. But if you want to learn the Maoshan stuff have to do the Max workshop. According to Max, combining Kunlun with the Maoshan practice he teaches is what can give the Gold Dragon Body.

I agree with others that the non stop slew of Kunlun threads is getting a little silly. Probably for those not into the Kunlun practice it get's tiresome. I mean, I practice Kunlun and I can see that! So, until Mantra68 gives the Kunlun Discussion the green light(which I am guessing should be soon) my suggestion is to have one thread where people can ask all the Kunlun questions they want. It will make it easier on others and also simple to navigate for those who want the latest Kunlun question for the day that has probably already been answered about 100 times if you do a search Cam
