As some of you who read my little jounral here know yesterday I took an evening class with Wudang Taoist Master Chen. I wasn't sure what to expect. I was half hoping I wouldn't be that interested in it so I can focus on other practices I have learned. Unfortunately, I was blown away by Chen Chen lives full time on Wudang Mountain and is just returning to certain spots like Atlanta since he has alot of students here. Next week he is teaching a 3 day intensive that is the introduction to studying higher practices(alchemy) with him. Since it occured to me he only comes back occasionally I might not get the chance to learn from him until next year or so. So I would like to do the intensive. Unfortunatly, it's $800 for the intensive and I am currently broke. I do have a good job opportunity potentially lined up but still wouldn't be able to make the intensive. So, I generally wouldn't ask this but since it could potentially be useful to others I am asking for an $800 donation(or loan)from fellow Tao Bums to make this. As I said, I do probably have a good job opportunity so I would make every effort to pay people back at some point this year. I will also share what I learn from Chen with the board, or share as much as I am allowed with his permission. And if that's not enough the intensive starts wednesday so I would need any potential donors to overnight me the money so I get it by tuesday. Otherwise I won't make it. I really appreciate everything I have already learned and continue to learn from those here. I generally wouldn't make a request like this but feel drawn to check Chen out farther and just not in the position at the moment to pay for it. Again, I would be totally committed to paying anyone back asap or if anyone is drawn to donate a portion of the funds I will try to make it back to you by sharing as much as I can from what Chen teaches me. Thanks again. If it doesn't pan out no worries. I'll check it out some other time.

Actually Yoda and I hopped up on Kunlun and eating turkey sandwiches and snickers bars while driving cross country is the ultimate drug. The key is to pull over the side of the highway/road wherever you are at 3 am to get out and practice. Unless your asleep of course, which you should be at 3am. Unless your not.
-
Hehe, sure. Let me know if your ever in Atlanta.

To update, I agree with "the boards" decision to not lend me the money. After reflecting on it a couple days I am in the middle, or some stage, of a very powerful path/process already(kunlun)and adding more stuff most likely would do more to just confuse that enlighten. Also, to respond to "The Immortal" Glenn I have found a new job that looks promising

Looking forward to it. Am sure many people here are as well.

Thanks for sharing. Best of luck in your training. Cam

Peace, I also enjoyed watching your Youtube videos. Cam Y4F1bBGUb3E

I might be remembering incorrectly but I also remember him saying the old masters wouldn't go low, more like the way he teaches I Jong, so they could practice into old age without strain? But then at another workshop I remember him saying that old masters did go very low? Do your practice 5E in more of a deeper, horse riding stance Winpro?

If your referring to Chen's orbit teaching, I just learned it. He says to do a specific visualization and other things to really feel heat/energy/openess before circulating. So, if I am going to practice this, I would do it as instructed. Probably work on the first ltt to hui yin practice to form an energy ball for weeks/months. It's somewhat similar sounding to the Wudang orbit Winn teaches but more emphasis on getting the ltt charged up first. So, no, I haven't done it yet. At the present moment kunlun is opening up really strong. So may focus on the practices I learned from Max for now. Or I may decide to try Chen's orbit practice. If your interested I'll probably write what I am up to and experiences in my jounral here. Cam
-
I think they say it's supposed to. Maybe I need to practice more. Chen's practice says you need to open the ltt and hui yin and feel them to be very hot and charged up before circulating. With Kunlun, things just open(or not)on their own. No real order to it. So far, my main energetic experiences with Kunlun seem to be in the upper tan tien/head area, heart area and legs and the central channel more than the mco.
-
Hehe, no worries man. I'll check it out some other time if I really want/need it. Also, I am already in/on a pretty powerful path with Kunlun and those energies seem to continue to develop. And as cat asked I wouldn't say my orbit is really open. Per Chen's description of the orbit on the MP3 download you work on that before learning higher practices anyway. So, if I am drawn to it will practice that. It does seem like a pretty powerful method to open the orbit that he teaches. In a way it sounds similar to the Red Dragon practice Max teaches especially one of the main visualizations. But there are differences also. Cam

Like taking an internal bubble bath and put these powerful magnets around the tub constantly making the bubble bath swish and sway from one end of the tub to the other making me either laugh or freak out. That's my highly scientific and educated description

The order of the 5 element standing Max teaches is the same as what is called the creation cycle in Taoist theory I beleive. So it's not destroying cycle but a cycle of creation. Not sure about the language used but from what I remember from other sources. 1st posture wood/fire burns(is created) from wood so 2nd posture fire/fire creates earth 3rd posture earth/earth creates metal 4th posture metal/metal creates water 5th posture water. And if you continued the cycle from there, water creates wood. But he starts from the wood element/posture so it ends with water. Cam ps. Hi Jazz, I just read your website and it looks like your mixing up the creation and destruction cycle. In any case, my understanding is the 1st posture is wood(liver). 2nd is fire(heart). 3rd is earth(spleen). 4th is metal(lungs) and 5th is water(kidneys). But if I somehow got those wrong someone let me know! We all learned it at the same place.

I purchased an MP3 of Master Chen's called Wu Dang Theory, Philosophy and Guided Meditation. It contains an introduction to Chen's take on Taoist practice as well as guided meditation. From the class I took with Chen he emphasized emptiness meditation but he describes the first level of his alchemy training on this download and it's the microcosmic orbit meditation. He teaches it in an interesting way that really emphasizes connecting and opening the lower tan tien and hui yin before doing the circulation. He says once you are able to really feel the energy and do a certain amount of circulations in a certain way to see him for the next step in his alchemy training. link

Hehe, it's all good. I'll take all your advice to heart. Arguments about Osho, advice from Taoist immortals, goal setting suggestions. Having enough affinity to ask teachers you just met to let you into classes for free It turned out to be a fun thread I think. Anyway, no worries. I'll check it out next time if I am supposed to.
-
Thanks for all the feedback! I generally wouldn't ask for such assistance and definetly won't ever do so again Regarding Chen, he already asked us to do emptiness meditation for 100 days which I plan on doing. I don't think I ever said Chen said the 3 day intensive are the higher practices. I think it's more like an intro to studying higher practices. He teaches those in a week long retreat I believe. Obviously, you are left at some point to practice what you learn for the rest of your life or not. Anyway, I will definetly be taking Santiago's "Immortal" teacher's advice from him to Santiago to me and "GET A JOB!" And yes Smile is probably right
-
Sounds like crown opening. I agree with Santiago don't forget your Earth.

Heeey, this is my online Taoist version of a Christian handout basket thread not a place to fight IMO, the true purpouse of the spiritual teacher is to help"stop" you. I noticed this happening from the brief time I hung out with Chen. The gears start to slow down and the body starts to relax and all of a sudden your sitting there totally in the present moment listening to this Chinese guy with a funny hat. Whether or not a certain practice or teacher is "working" I think can be somewhat determined by the results of it's abilty to help stop you. Stop your mind, start to see your inner treasure and stop wanting to fight people(or judge, or call them names). I think we can probably see if this is working or not for ourself if we are honest but to assess if it's working or not for someone else probably isn't our place to do. I probably lost sight of that a bit for awhile myself. But when in doubt can go back to what we learn in kindergarden "If you don't have something nice to say about someone don't say anything at all". Cam

Good stuff. You look to be very strong for a vegan Lin. Do you get alot of protien from other sources?
-
The hell teachings in organized religion were put there by the priesthood to control people. I am ok with temporary bouts of suffering as a learning experience but to be eternally damned by the universe for not believing a certain teaching is utter crap.
-
I wasn't going to say anything, but I agree with Yoda ps. The song in that video isn't too bad though.
-
It's all good As far a jumping around, you keep jumping until you finally land right? I was just really impressed by this teacher. Like I had encountered a lost friend that could help show me something I have been looking for. Maybe it's just another piece of the puzzle. Maybe what I learn from another teacher is another piece. Maybe some of the pieces don't fit into my puzzle. In any case, I would like to check it out further. As I said I would be totally committed to paying the funds back this year and would do so. But if it's not to be it's not to be. No worries. Cam

Master Chen's daughter's videos from Wudang Mountain. She calls her and her sister bananas since they grew up in the west(yellow outside, white inside). I would think this is insulting but Master Chen thinks it's funny and it's her youtube name nvuc3mM52zk jVYMh2LkHjM Xa96ZeQZ79s GHJ30RFX6zE ja_NFApDqNk qxnxRt_X3M4
