Welcome I have been practicing the ones you mentioned a little less than a year. My mind/ego has had objections to this path but I think it even realizes it's just along for the ride now

Ok

I tried it for the first time standing a couple days ago(feet flat). I immedietly started getting the circular motions going. But I stopped pretty soon. I like the seated version better for solo practice. Max seems to incorporate more standing when playing Kunlun games. There is one standing version where you raise your heels off the ground a certain way and raise you arms over your head a certain way. Max had Janimal do that in NJ. In a Kunlun DVD I have of Max's Japanese students he has a group of Japanese woman then Japanese men do this also. But in this case Max is constantly walking around and helping people with his energy. Some people really went flying almost running into walls and crashing into the ground. So I can see how the Kunlun seated is safer and more practical when you practice at home.

Cool picture of Max.

Oh? Wonder why that would be? I don't want to turn this into another Kunlun thread but my understanding is that Kunlun opens the channels up and they flow how they are supposed to. Maybe the people who experienced it going in reverse that's just where the energy wanted to go. Your not guiding it around just letting whatever wants to happen. I would imagine a solid standing meditation practice is good for this also. I like to think of standing as building the energy in the lower tan tien and when it get's "full" the surplus naturally spills over into other channels(like the orbit). But that's more an empty mind practice(As is Kunlun).

Since practicing Level 1 of Kunlun it feels like the orbit has been wanting to open up in reverse. I have also heard others talk about feeling the orbit flowing/opening in reverse from K1. There is also a practice called Red Dragon Max teaches that is used to flow the orbit in reverse but he only teaches it in person. It sounds somewhat similar to the Wudang spinning pearl orbit practice Michael Winn teaches.

Cool, I just noticed today Wudang Master Chen has updated his online store. I will meet him for the first time next week. Some guided meditations and DVD's. http://www.wudangtao.us/ourstore/

Cool! I was interested in hearing your feedback and thought you would have a good time.

Good stuff. I have been doing 5 element standing Max taught us every morning. If I remember correctly at a past workshop he said you can do them in horse stance also. Though I do them the regular way. I might start to play with doing them in horse sometimes.

I can see that working

The stories are fun(or not)but the main benifit of the workshop is getting the transmission from Max. At the NJ workshop Scotty who posts here wasn't crazy about Max's stories but had a powerful experience from the Kunlun transmission. For me, it's sort of like well the things Max says are pretty out of the ordinary but I experience so many interesting things from the practice. Hey, maybe I don't know everything. But it's all good. Trust yourself. Things will work out however they are supposed to. Cam

Golden Dragon - Kunlun or other arts?
Cameron replied to Wun Yuen Gong's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, the Kunlun Forum is for students who have done the workshop. My understanding was Max would be contributing to the discussions also when it get's going. As far as I can tell he is really the only person who can comment on GDB. His two students that achieved it one of them doesn't speak english and the other is registered here but doesn't really post. Her Taobum name here is Golden Phoenix so if she is interested in sharing some of her experience here. Who knows, maybe if you PM her and be really nice she will say something about it. Besides that, my guess is you just have to find a way to do the workshop and ask all these questions to Max himself. Cam -
Golden Dragon - Kunlun or other arts?
Cameron replied to Wun Yuen Gong's topic in General Discussion
Not a bad question. But I doubt anyone here has the experience to really answer it. Max has told us combining Kunlun and Red Phoenix together you can attain GDB. But how combining the two root practices of Kunlun and Mao Shan does this isn't ever really addressed. It would be interesting to here some sort of explanation of the how, what and why of GDB. Maybe we will get to learn more about it on the Kunlun Forum. Or else one of the TB's practicing these arts attains GDB and tells everyone else about it -
The Tao Bums Mascot and the Kunlun Scribe are both turning 40!! Cheers!! Love you guys!!

Then Red Dragon and the Wudang orbit may be different practices. Red Dragon goes around the entire orbit though some of the mechanics of visualization in both sound similar. Looks like Mantra might not respond in this thread so just want to mention I have no idea if Max taught Winn the Wudang orbit or not just speculation on my part. Or if Max is the same guy Winn talked about that intentionally tried to get struck by lightning. Though that does sound down his alley from everything I have heard him say about his childhood and love of electricity.

Patrick, Many people here have and continue to have profound experiences studying with Max. It's not make believe.

I was thinking of just posting that since that's what Max told me at the first workshop I did. "I tell my students to cut off thier head". But I didn't think that would work for some of these guys. But I like it

Works for me

Ok, here's one. When you let go of the questioning. And you let go of the questioner. And just practice. ?

When Max told me he was going to teach us the Red Dragon practice, a secret method to open the orbit in reverse, I remembered how Winn said he got some teachings from Max and how he said the guy who taught him the Wudang Orbit was really into lightning. So that sort of clicked and I wanted to ask him about it. But as soon as I dropped Winn's name the body double thing came up and we were all heading to Starbucks and in a relaxed mode so I didn't want to push it any further. If Chris wants to confirm that the Red Dragon is what the Wudang Orbit is based on cool, if not, also cool. Doesn't really interest me too much but since someone just said that Winn learned the Wudang orbit from Max(which I don't know is true or not). Cam

Really? I was wondering if the Wudang Orbit was based on the Red Dragon practice Max taught the TB's in NJ. Actually I was about to ask him about it before he taught us but it sounded like the main thing when I mentioned Winn was how Winn said he thought he was an imposter. That's interesting if true though. Though from what I remember Winn taught the Wudang orbit a bit differently than Max teaches Red Dragon. Unless Red Dragon and Wudang orbit are different practices. The one thing that would make me believe that is I remember hearing Winn talk about the Wudang orbit in his CD course and he said the guy he learned it from was very into lightning and would actually run to the top of his roof if there was a storm to try to get hit by lightning and was able to ground the energy!

Winn did/does teach the little orbit. I remember practicing it along with a small qigong movement in one of his Asheville classes. Another nice one I learned a few weeks ago froma student of Master Chen is just breathing up from the hui yin to below the heart and then breathing down again. Sort of like washing the bottom part of the central channel. She also had us doing reverse breathing to the ming men and exhale to the front of the tan tien as well as breathing around the belt channel. I think I remember Max also mentioning going up and down the bottom part of the central channel when doing Kunlun(between the heart and genitals/hui yin)?
