Downward pointing but very hard? I don't have a clue then
  3. weak erection

Cool. Yeah, if you can correct the problem with qigong and excercise, diet etc that is best. If you buy 1 of them try Tom Kat. It is really potent and works fast.
  4. weak erection

Could be a low testosterone problem. Even though your young I wouldn't rule it out. Dragonherbs has alot of good formulas. The strongest ones I took for yang energy were Dragon Jing and Tom Kat. With either you would probably see a difference after 1 bottle or sooner.

  8. Is religion inherently harmful?

I haven't practiced enough to discover this Talk to me in 20 years.
  9. Smoking-organic vs. not

I had quit smoking for 5 years and then about 4 months ago got on the natural tobacco cigarettes. I smoked them for 2 months and quit smoking again. Smoking in moderation might be ok, but if your not an addict already I would say not smoking is the way to go. So glad I was able to quit.
  10. Is religion inherently harmful?

It's a really deep question. It can be looked at many different ways. Since this is Taobums, I presume you are asking what is the "highest level" or most developed way I look at it. Forgetting about all the good or bad churches and religions may have done. Building up cultures or destroying cultures or helping people or hurting them. Just what is this all about from the highest level I am aware of at this time. From my limited scope, awakening is totally impersonal. Since awakening is impersonal and is not a finding of yourself as a seperate individual so much as an "aha!" experience of seeing through the individual identity, you might say the entire foundation religion is built on is false. However, from the persepective of an awakened person this ignorance of one's true nature might be as dazzilingly beautiful as anything in nature or anywhere else enlightened people supposedly spend there time. For example, my guess is Adyahshanti is not a Christian per se, but he frequently quotes Jesus and I have even heard him talk about how wonderful it can be to attend church services in his satsangs. In other words, from the perspective of the one who no longer differentiates and sees things as they are, they can truely enjoy themselves. The beautiful architecture and ritual and practices of religion without getting sucked into the deeply personal, egoic side of religion. Because, that's what this negativity amounts to. That YOU are going to be saved by YOUR God who is different than someone elses God. If the awakened tell us there is NO YOU then it makes sense there is NO SEPERATE GOD and no one to be saved. Adyashanti strikes at this first inclination towards illusion alot. Definetly the two times I saw him in person he struck at it. The entire foundation that all of this confusion, all these wars and all these so called problems are based on doesn't exist. When I did a weekend satsang with a teacher named Jeannie Zandi last summer one man broke down crying during satsang and said "this is all a big misunderstanding". But you can't force anyone to see that. They are either going to see that or their not. And even after it's seen it is easy to slip back into the personal. But the real challenge might be seeing that there is no problem to begin with, definetly not something I have been able to do yet. Cam

Yes, given to a girl, by an ancient Sky Diety named Lau Kung who came down from the sky with a hammer and spike and transported her to a cave with drawings on it. Someone else must have made the drawings and were older!! *suddenly realizes will be unable to talk about the history of the kunlun practice with 99% of the people I will meet in my life without them thinking I am crazy*

Not sure except I know I need to back off practicing what I learned from Max and focus on grounding for awhile The major thing I got from it is the strong magnetic current which is felt running up and down my channels all day. It's very strong at times.
  20. Deep breathing practices

From my understanding, your breaths per minute slows down naturally with meditation. It's not something you force at all should just be the natural result of deep relaxation and abdominal breathing. One thing might probably have to do with it is the average Joe is an upper chest, fast breather while the qigong student learns to sink the qi and breathe into the belly(not literally but the diaphragm becomes a big part of it, massaging the internal organs with each abdominal breath). One of the ways Ken Cohen says to measure your progress in his book is to count your breaths during standing meditation. Count 60 breaths while holding a standing posture. In the beginning, 60 breaths takes about 5 minutes. After a few months of training your breath gets slower and 60 breaths might take 15-20 minutes!!
  21. Is there a Heaven and Hell?

I like this story from Zen Master Hakuin, Once upon a time, a man with a certain military bearing approached the Zen master Hakuin and asked: "Master, do Heaven and Hell actually exist?" The master wanted to answer in the affirmative, but knew that this would give the man a false impression. In all likelihood the man operated under the mundane paradigm that Heaven and Hell exist as places for souls in the afterlife. The master knew what he must do to break through that false preconception. "What is your occupation?" He asked. "I'm a general." This explained the military bearing about him. The master burst out laughing. "What idiot would ask you to command an army? You look more like a butcher to me!" This enraged the general. With a roar he drew his sword. He could cut down this defenseless old man in an instant. "Here lie the gates of Hell," said the master. These simple words stopped the powerful general dead in his tracks. Realization flooded in. The general sudden understood that the master had risked his life in order to teach him a great truth in the most effective way imaginable. "Forgive me, master, for what I was able to do." He felt all at once gratitude, amazement, and shame. "Here lie the gates of Heaven," said the master.
  22. Ron Paul

So Ron never had a chance it seems. If I vote, it will be for Obama or McCain if Clinton get's the nomination. I think the Bush's and Clinton's really just need to go away now. So hopefully Obama get's the nomination but if not I'll take McCain over Clinton.
