Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Alright man. Please list some good, solid alternatives to meat to help GROUND OUT. All this "do gooder, my karma is better than your karma" stuff aside..some practical food that can ground me out as well as some delicious salami slices. Your pal, Cameron

Todd..let's please not state the obvious. I think your a good guy and am looking forward to all the good you will do as an acupuncturist and future Adyashanti awakening success story!

I think we can safely seperate the awakening crowd into 2 different groups. Those who don't beleive that Dragons exist and those who do. IMHO, the those who don't beleive that Dragons exist are boring as hell and sit around more or less talking about nothing(ok..they probably do help people also) The those who do believe(and there students) are on another level of fun and excitement that the those who don't beleive frankly can't keep up with. It's ok if you can't keep up with Dragons...no one will judge you..even though you judge the Dragon

Chris please..I am attempting to do "100 days". Video game chat would be fine..though I bartered my television several weeks ago.

Sifu Max told Mantra he needs to eat meat to ground from the powerful energies of Kunlun. Sorry..I will take his word over yours. Also...steaks are delicious. *sparks up George Foreman Grill..throws on an angus*

Though I am pretty sure VeeCee falls under the "girl that just a wanna have fun" group. It's possible I just don't a wanna have fun in which case it would make sense for me to have that view. I will remain open to the possibilty that girls do indeed just want to have fun.
-
I am not 100% sold on the girls just want to have fun thing myself quite yet.
-
I am doing Level One for atleast a year before starting Level Two.
-
There are fun places to go all over that area. But Sugar Daddy's is right across the street and most likely we won't be drinking alcohol. Or if you guys just want to keep it casual there is a Denny's a couple minutes away also. I am always down for some pancakes

I don't want too go too much into this. Human beings are basically like the disappointment of the universe. Someone like Chris is sort of like a "Red Alert" trying to get an important message out before it's too late. I know..it sounds fanatical..and anyone who knows me knows I am THE LEAST fanatical person they ever met. But...just going off my intuition here..we don't have too much time..Mantra has already done more good here by himself than the rest of this board over the last 3 years put together. If you want to sit around and judge someone like that on a personal level. I really have nothing left to say to you. Cam

The way it described in the book Kunlun increases the body energy 10x. So you just don't need to sleep as much I guess. quality wise..probably that is better to.
-
yeah..as the whole board knows..kunlun really cut down on my sleep time.

I am doing 30 min kunlun, 30 min close in the morning. Might build up to 1 hr kunlun, 1 hr closing next year. BTW, closing to me is the same as emptiness meditation so the kunlun routine is basically EXACTYLY the same as I was doing standing meditation and emptiness meditation only standing has been replaced with kunlun. My ideal routine that I'll work up to by next year will be 1 hr kunlun, 1 hr close down/emptiness meditation in the morning...then another hr close down/emptiness meditation at night. I'll try to build up to that by like Jan, Feb '08

My opinion at present time is girls indeed just want to have fun. But of course further research will be required into this matter.

There is a fun restaurant bar literally like across the street from Vison Quest called Sugar Daddy's. We can just go there afterwards if you like. They have pool tables if you guys want to play a game or 2 also. Cam Rock

I hope this is viewed in the spirit of wanting to help make sure the material is presented in the best possible way. I highly respect Chris and Max. I think the work that they are doing has the potential to create some real positive change in people. So, with that in mind, I want to create a thread where we can discuss how Kunlun One Workshop might be improved. So far, it sounds like the response has been mostly positive overall. I know the LA workshop was very powerful. I certainly was moved by it. But here is MY take on how the material should be presented. Again, I don't know if this is the right way. All I know is from what I have experienced and my limited understanding of awakening this would be the way to go. 1. Kunlun Level One should focus on just that..Kunlun Level One. We have 2 days. I would say day One should be devoted to Kunlun and Day two devoted to "close down". If standing practice is included in that fine. My feeling is devoting the first day to Kunlun and 2nd say to close down is enough. I would even say just SITTING IN SILENCE for an hour and have Max guide us through "close down" would be good. 2. Don't teach sexual practices at Level one. Explain to people sexual energy can be very volitile if there channels arent open and that they should practice Kunlun for atleast a month before drawing sexual energy up the spine. Also..cover the reality people may have serious emotional issues that need to be worked out and in that case they SHOULD NOT DRAW JING UP THE SPINE PERIOD. 3. Do not teach Red Phoenix until after people have practiced Kunlun for atleast 1 year. That's my 2 cents.

In addition, Eckhart talks about our "pain body" The pain body is very strong. Entire billion dollar industries are built around the pain body. Read Power of Now and A New Earth for more info.
-
Yeah but like Eckhart Tolle says be in the NOW. But yeah..I am just feeling all the crap from my life. There is some good stuff too!!

This guy thinks by water we mean tequila
-
Water is bad for you? Ok..I am off this thread

As a counterpoint I have read fasting is NOT a Buddhist path. Buddhism teaches the MIDDLE WAY. To me..doing something like water therapy every day for a year is more balanced than fasting for a week or whatever. my...2....cents.....
-
I do it like the link says. I find it to be a good practice. Have you tried doing it with 1.5 liters as the link instructs? Also..I hope you were using room tempurture water and NOT cold water.
-
No water fasting but I sometimes do a practice called water therapy. http://www.sakthifoundation.org/WaterTherapy.htm

That whole Buddhist thing of "Don't kill, Cherish all life" is a good start to getting us on the right track "I" think. Of course..we do that in stages. For example..I eat meat..thus I support the killing of animals. However I do not support wars or killing humans. If we can get the world to be a bit more peaceful in the next 20 years or whatever and people in different countries can be "friends" then I would maybe start worrying about not eating my beloved steaks.
