Good post Maybe Tiny Tim should have said "You are what you don't eat"

mYTHSTER mYTHISmAKER are planning a four day water fast next week. We will begin Tuesesday September 13th after dinner and break the fast Sunday morning September 17th. Anyone care to join us.

Your response sounds a bit judgemental to me but I could be wrong.
-
Your body will clean out on it's own. At some point when you are eating better you might try a water fast.
-
Whatever
-
You're looking for a magic cleanout or an herb or pill so you can keep eating all the chocolate you want. It doesn't work that way. Eliminate the chocolate. Find a substitute. Fresh fruit is a good bet. As Michael says drink water - plenty of fruits and veggies. Your body will heal itself. A wise being once said (it wasn't me ) " All the time you thought you were enjoying your pleasures they were enjoying you"

Best Source/s For Nutrition/diet Information?

The book is for healthy eating. If you eat healthy you will be at your proper weight and reverse disease. If you follow what Dr Fuhrman says you will lose weight if you are overweight. The book is marketed as a weight lose book because that's what sells. Here is Joel Fuhrmans website which is packed with information. http://www.drfuhrman.com/ -

Eat to Live by Dr Joel Fuhrman -
I never met Fong Ha so I wouldn't judge the ability of his students or him for that matter. We really have no way to judje what anything is doing for anyone else except for ourself. Where did they start from - how much did they improve. Even if I were to see Fong Ha I would ony be able to see the external unless I was at his level or beyond it. The teacher I learned from in his seventies is no slouch and quite profficient in martial arts fajing etc. I couldn't - wouldn't rate his students who I never met who are in China. As for myself when I met him I was already breathing from my belly. He had me standing for one and one half hours each time. I was never told I was already an expert. I believe it is more of a taoist approach - nothing forced - everything in it's time. Some people are natural athletes, fighters etc. Some have to work at it. What is your purpose for standing. Is it to have power so you can fight someone or to root and be healthy. Mine is the latter.

When standing I was taught to let the breath be natural meaning don't focus on your breath let it happen. Let it go where it wants to. Let go - Don't "DO" anything. Just stand - relax.

Notice how he's listing to one side in his avatar. What that saying about not really knowing someone unless you've walke a mile in his underwear -
First of all i am not a master. maybe I can clarify. When you are holding your arms up before the pain sets in your arms don't fall down they stay up floating - relaxed. You are using only the proprer muscles to support your arms with the appropriate amount of tension. Make sure your elbows are pointing downward not engaging your shoulders. Experiment by raising your elbows and see where you start to engage your shoulders. After a while tension sets in , the muscles contract and it's difficult to hold up your arms. At some point the muscles in your arms shoulders get so tense they relax. In the martial arts the term relax does not mean limp. It means no tension, stiffness. So hold your arms up past the pain point. You can increase the time each time. Also picture- feel your arms being supported by balloons or floating in water. Breathe into the area that's grabbing. Relax. You can be a master.

Nice post. Somehow I got to thinking about "what do I really know for sure." So far: Everything that is born will die. Everything is in constant state of change - nothing is certain.
-
If you hold the pose as long as you can and your muscles tense keep with it. At some point the muscles have no choice but to relax and let go.
-
I meant for you to speak for yourself. The "We" wasn't even under consideration. Am still interested in your anwser.

Where are your arms. I used to embrace the tree. Now I stand in wu ji - arms relaxed at sides.

I'm not quite at their level yet

How long have you had it. A white coated tongue indicates some form of sickness. Could be a cold, virus. Bad breath stomach. Could also be bad food combinations or to much sugar or wheat

In my experience I found it more difficult to do sitting meditation half lotus as my legs were hard to relax and also to keep the spine straight from head to kua. Same for a chair. Practicing standing made it easier to do the sitting meditation. I think one really needs a teacher for correction to learn standing properly. Sitting will not ground - root - you like standing will

I do standing in wuji - arms relaxed at sides allowing qi to do whatever it wants to. I find it very relaxing and rooting. Tension melts away. I used to do hugging like a tree or arms in other positions. In these postures you have to hold through the pain of muscle tension- at some point the muscles give up relax and let go. Now I can hold these postures as long as I want to. I prefer the wuji standing. It aligns everything, teaches patience and relaxation.

I would promise them virgins in heaven when they died if they livied a peaceful life with their fellow men on earth.

She should see a doctor to make sure it's nothing serious. She should stop eating and drink liquids - rest her stomach.
