Breathing exercises depend on what you are practicing. For taiji beginners breathe naturally, relax - the form will regulate your breath Put a lite focus on your tan tien and your breath will follow.

The video showed me he really doesn't have an deep understanding in his body. He may, however, know it in his mind. i understand your situation - for a long time i had no teacher and searched for information all over the place. I did gain some insights. However, now that i have a knowledgeable teacher i no longer feel the need.If on the other hand he wowed me in the video i would buy the book. One thing i have learned is if you keep practicing with the right idea - what your teacher told you - you improve. learn and discover even when your teacher has left town. If you can find some one to each to will learn by leaps and bounds.

Why don't you put it in your personal forum area so you can monitor and control it yourself. Keeping it on topic etc

What does standing meditation do to/for you?

Wu taiji has parallel feet. Yang taiji does not. -

Not impressed he is too tense and uses too much force for my taste. The big guys posture is so bad he is a pushover. I'm no great shakes but i have easily pushed guys his size and 30 years younger. They had such poor posture and body alignment - like taking candy from baby. Doesn't make me any good.

I was thinking more in terms work done on ones self and peoples actions in general. Volcanoes have force but erupt naturally as a consequence of other factors - they take the path of least resistance. Water has force but will always seek the path of least resistance -

Beautiful. Nothing good is ever achieved by force.

How would a virtuous person act in this situation?
mYTHmAKER replied to Subtle's topic in General Discussion
Fuck the ugly meat head is not the virtuous route. 1 Ask him nicely to stop 2 if he persists tell him you will have to complain to the landlady and or call the police which is something you would rather not do however if her persists he gives you no choice. Maybe go with someone else to help you not lose your cool. This has nothing to do with virtue. -
How many Taoists are out there in the TTB....?
mYTHmAKER replied to ChiDragon's topic in Daoist Discussion
When Taoists became (become) Taoists they adhere to form. Before they called themselves (became) Taoists they were formless. Something like that
