My source is my experience. Focus gently on tour tantien and your breath will follow. Of course if one is interested in visions stay with the ajna been there done that - plenty of time to be out of my body when i no longer have one

In lieu of spiritual development i prefer becoming more in line with tao. A lot of taiji is counter intuitive so one lets go of preconceived ways of reacting/ movement. What is counter intuitive is closer to tao. One learns to move naturally, to let go of muscle and other tension - this in turn frees patterns/ psychological issues stuck in the body. Since taiji is studied one works through glitches in movement i.e if one moves quickly awareness of various areas are skipped over. One is aware of total body movement - what each part - arm leg- how they relate to each other at all times - this increase awareness of ones self and others - being able to be in the present. It is usually not taught to hurt others in the internal arts. I have seen my teacher refuse to teach someone because of his attitude. Most teachers acess a students charachter and go from there. I have heard of those who would go to a bar to pick a fight in order to practice their fighting skills. There will always be people like this in the world.

It's the energy we project that makes resistance. If we are able to step back out of a situation it gives space for it's reality and we see there is no reason to resist. If we are able to be in this space there is less resistance and more acceptance from others. My four cents -

People with lower energy are affected by those with higher energy just by being in their presence.

Close your eyes and visualize your chi / aura expanding and forming a big ball/ protective wall with you in the center. This will stop others bad energy from coming into your space nd affecting you.

I would recommend zhan zhuang standing to develop rooting. When you play your form focus on moving from your center - arms not moving independently - being song - letting go of tension and holding. But of course you know all this so just keep playing with awareness of what each part of your body is doing - how they work together ( wrists - ankles, elbows - knees etc. sink in your qua - maintain peripheral vision. As you know the underlying principles of taiji are the same so you might try learning another style while keeping your Wu style. Apply what you learn from the new style to your Wu style. Might I ask who your Wu style teacher was.
