After sending back a few jian that were supposed to stand on point and didn't and were much too flexible for my taste - I told myself enough is enough and went back to my local store which had nothing I liked the last time I visited. To my delight they had the one pictured. It stands on point - flexes slightly when thrusting - the balance feels great. It has bats on the guard - "Lucky Bat Sword". I don't know the manufacturer - there are no etched symbols on the blade only tiny lettering that says made in China. and only $40. As to using weapons in The park it doesn't seem to be a problem - the park is in Chinatown and many people are using weapons. No one has ever said anything. In fact we call the police to stop the smoking - against the law in public spaces.

yes worth a read - sort of fizzles out at the end - would like him to have gone further with how he was healed. Also the experiences are similar to shaktipat - kundalini awakening in the Indian guru tradition. Teachers at high level will not teach those who are not of good character and teacher disciple relationship is very important for proper timing and guidance.

I plugged christian qi gong teachers and here we go. Lots of articles i won't bother to read but the titles do seem pertinent. https://www.google.com/search?q=christian+qi+gong+teachers&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb

Ramakrisna an Indian saint went into ecstasy practicing different religions. Once he reached that state it was all one to him. I would recommend finding a good qi gong teacher and forget about his/her religion unless of course he or she starts to preach.

Sorry for your loss. You were there for him and that is all we can do - we have no control over what others choose.

My response was to Chi Dragon and had nothing to do with dissing anyone or any school 'ChiDragon', on 08 July 2011 - 12:41 PM, said: 太極拳(Tai Chi Chuan) and 太極(tai chi) are the same thing. 太極 was short for 太極拳 as you've said. These two came from the same source but differ in name. mYTHmAKER, on 08 Jul 2011 - 14:43, said: My understanding is Tai Chi means supreme ultimate and can apply to anything i.e the tai chi of cooking Tai Chi Chuan where chuan means fist refers to the martial art / exercise of Tai Chi Chuan.
